DECONSTRUCT DOWN! - Higby Tweets!

That's easy to solve. Have it go through a checklist of conditions like a radius of how close the enemy is to you- then do some basic checks to see if they are still gunning for you, or have disengaged, etc.

lol, other games have handled it with some really smart coding like this. A timer also tossed in isn't a bad idea- but we can go smarter than that, and should :p

This is too easy , really xD
  2. Aedelric

For the minute amount of exp a flash grants? Even if it was a Galaxy you hit with a rocket, I do not think a timer is necessary. Granting basic kill exp is a simple effective solution, scaling rewards would complicate matters and introduce needless scripting. People should not worry about how much experience the enemy gets, it was this concern that griefers fixated on and abused the deconstruct mechanic to begin with.

The easiest way to fix but far from the best. At least Higby said that it's a temporal measure.
Still it doesn't help with the crash suicides.

This is one of my favorite threads since I've been on these forums! I am literally smiling as I read it.

Hey, you... pssst, deconstructor guy, yes you... IN YOUR FACE! haha

    2 situations.

    #1
Rustler is running along by himself to an objective. An enemy ESF finds him and starts shooting rocket pods at him. He is hit but not killed as he temporarily finds cover behind a rock. While the ESF is maneuvering around he decides to logout because he thinks that 1 infantryman should be invincible, and feels like being a jerk to the pilot who used ammo and time finding him doing his job (killing enemies). He logs back in because he had no intention of quitting.

    #2
Instead of logging out while temporarily behind cover, he spots the plane to try and be helpful for teammates. He does as much damage as he can towards the ESF, but it eventually kills him. He has been playing for 2 hours and feels like calling it a day. He logs out.

See? There are ways to log out as a jerk, or you can just log out like normal people, when there isn't combat happening. If I need to leave and I'm in combat, then I'll go out rambo style. There is no need to log out in the middle of a fire fight.

    Lol noskill.

Also your Scythe/Mossie is a cert pinata, I could care less about killing you, a big fat 400xp is waiting for me.
  7. anaverageguy

If a pilots ends up committing suicide as a result of intentional trolling or a failed maneuver / lack of control [me], whoever last hit should NOT be getting the normal kill exp. They did not kill the pilot or destroy the craft.

The ones that damaged the pilot's craft should be awarded according to % of damage dealt. Half the plane's hp? Half the exp. A snip of it? A snip of the exp. Nearly the whole thing, missing only the killing blow? Nearly the whole chunk of exp, pilot included.

    Great news!
  9. Rhumald

or more, depending on how deep you are into enemy territory; no one likes to willingly kills themselves, and 10 seconds is still 10 seconds I could have been doing something else if I'm done for the day, or 10 seconds to suck me back in, or 10 seconds I ran into a firefight during, and die/play longer, when I could have logged out and been done with it.

In situation 1, we call that a rage quit, it's hilarious more than anything to the attacker, and sad for people that do it to maintain "golden" profiles.

The problem here is that by implementing log out restrictions, the only people you are hampering is legitimate players; you get log out timers, or force people to walk back to spawn, and all people that normally rage-quit are going to do is hard shut down the application, or disconnect their internet connection entirely, meaning normal players are suddenly inconvenienced (however slight, it's still an inconvenience), and rage quitters just keep on rage quitting.

so Yes, I see, I just also have enough foresight to see the other side of the coin, and how ineffective such restrictions would actually become.

    more of a joking statement.
  13. Wintermaulz

just means i get to fly my mossie into cliff walls instead
  14. TintaBux

I think removing all together is a mistake, there should be a way to still deconstruct when your not engaged in a battle.
  15. Navoletti

AND WHAT HAPPEN YOU NOT HAVE THE POSSIBILITY OF EXIT OF VEHICLES?THIS IS SH..
  16. Shasbot

I misread the title as "Deconstruct crown" like they were going to decon the crown...Oh well, this is good too.
  17. VSMars

    Redeploy.

Then pull another vehicle to remove the first.

Though really - I've yet to be stuck in such a way without also being able to either move the vehicle so I can exit or crash it. It doesn't seem like a very common occurrence.
  18. MayorD

i love the da mn patches before Weekends... Isnt this weekend 2x exp?
    Bugs? no, never heard about.
  19. Gary

I have been stuck in a lot of places in which i cannot get out of the vehicle in my Prowler... Also what happens if i pull a Sunderer let a friend take the wheel and pull a tank for support since i have better equipped vehicles? I payed the resources for both the vehicles i expect to be able to utilize both =/

Seems like all the complaints about deconstructing (honestly i have seen 1 or 2 vehicles deconstruct before killing them) was blown way out of proportion and now players who did not use it for that are being punished...

In an Amp station and i had deployed a Sunderer on the inside, A vanguard rolled right up next to it on the vehicle pad, i ran up the stairs and spawned a flash, because friendly was in the vehicle it did not despawn my Sunderer but my Flash spawned killing the Vanguard and saving my Sunderer..... Am i still going to be able to do that without losing my currently vehicle...

Also if i get trapped in my prowler now, happens more often then i like to admit my only option now is to suicide and hope we have a spawn point nearby......

    Hi

I think all the gamers who use decon a lot will now avoid to use vehicles.
I am sure you will see less ESF in the air.
