I do have some other tweaks here and there, but I don't know which of those are relevant to the crashing issue. It's a highly customized system and the settings are tweaked - I'll help to debug this issue but I need to know what kind of info the devs need.

Come on, someone, throw me a bone here. I'm seeing lots of people having this issue and hardware-wise my config isn't "special" in any obvious way.
Do your headphones cut out repeatedly before the crash? I am having a similar issue, and I also have USB headphones. So it might have something to do with that....
No, there are no audio artifacts. I used to experience some distorted sound when I was using a busy controller, currently everything is running fine. I'll unplug my headphones, reboot and see if that solves the issue.
yo Sagol. What worked for me is dialling down the GFX card a bit. have been crashing every 5 mins, till i dialled it down in msi afterburner for about 10%. GTX 580 here.
I don't use MSI afterburner, the card is running at stock frequencies - it's got a 50MHz factory overclock, but overheating isn't a problem - it's an asus directcu - it has asus's overengineered designer-wank double-fan cooling on it - the VRMs were cool even when I tortured the card with furmark so temp-wise that's not an issue. If it's a software thing I'd be hesitant to underclock my card if it's working fine, but I'll give it a shot.
Headphones nor underclocking had any effect, game is still crashing. CSR suggested a clean boot with startup services and non-essential services disabled, still no effect.

I think they released an unchecked Patch... too bad the updates installetion is mandatory...

No, no flashing screen, just an immediate crash. CSR suggested deleting the following files: PlanetSide2.exe UserOptions.ini SoundSettings.xml LoadingScreen.xml InputProfiles.xml vivoxoal.dll vivoxsdk.dll This delayed the crashing, but didn't resolve it. In addition the game now crashes immediately when opening the VOICE options tab. I've never had any problems with voice, the game was working perfectly, every feature including VOIP. After deleting the files the voice system seems to be disabled, which reduced the frequency of crashes, but they still happen. It appears this issue may be related to USB headsets - anybody else experiencing crashes /w USB headsets?
I am also having this issue, but mine crashes before I can even move. It looks like the crashing issue is affecting geforce 5-series owners. So far mostly 560 and 580. If anyone else is experiencing this issue and can swap the card for a 4xx/6xx series please do so. If you have a report to add, add it here and let's hope some dev takes notice of this thread.
I keep crashing randomly when entering/exiting/killed in vehicles - most commonly tanks and sundies and engi turrets, more rare - aircraft, and it also started since the last hotfix, never ever crashed before then, i also get flickering screens and FPS drops far more often. It is really annoying when i spawn a fresh mossie or jump in a sundie for a ride and bam! Ps2 stopped working.... I can't fully enjoy the game anymore or play my favourite class to it's potential cause if i do, theres a 50% chance to crash.. Updated drivers, cleaned Windows, HDD, registry, and many more optimizations available for PC, including fresh game install and nothing. All I know it happened since patch, nothing on my end has been changed to cause this. So.... not really sure what to do as no info is given by devs/gm or anyone that could help
