CPU constraint - how to improve?

    For me decent size fights very often cause an FPS drop to 15-25 and then CPU constraint is seen next to FPS. Otherwise I can run the game at 40+ FPS (then it displays GPU).

    What setting can be used to improve performance with CPU constraint? I have tried: no shadows, no flora, but there is no improvement. Is there a setting that would improve performance when CPU constraint kicks in?

    I already have graphics at LOW setting generally.

    [Rendering]
    GraphicsQuality=3
    TextureQuality=1
    ShadowQuality=0
    RenderDistance=900.000000 // Doesn't affect the rendering of players or vehicles only terrain and base assets
    Gamma=0.000000
    MaximumFPS=60 // monitor refresh rate
    UseLod0a=0
    OverallQuality=-1
    LightingQuality=2
    EffectsQuality=3
    TerrainQuality=3
    FloraQuality=4
    ModelQuality=3
    VerticalFOV=65 //1920x1200 90fov
    ParticleLOD=2
    ParticleDistanceScale=0.650000
    FogShadowsEnable=0
    MotionBlur=0
    VSync=0
    AO=0

    Lower render quality to 85% and lower render distance to 900 or less. That's about all I have found that improves the situation in any meaningful way while not making the game look like the original DOOM. I set everything else to high. NOTE: Still unplayable with multiple platoons around.

    System:
    AMD Phenom II X4 925 @ 2.8 GHZ
    16 Gig 1333 memory
    Geforce GTX 550Ti
    Win 7 x64

    I'll try this, thx. Any more ideas?

    Under Render section
    FloraQuality=0 // Floraquality, shadows, fogshadowsenable off for less cpu load

    (Keep terrain and model = 3 or above to reduce LOD. LOD uses processing power to decide whether to use low quality models at far distance or high quality models at close distance. If they are forced to high quality there will be less switching and thus less load on cpu)

    Under Sound section
    MaxVoices=24 // (You will only be able to hear some sounds but not all from surroundings at low values so you have to depend more on minimap and sight etc...)

    Under VoiceChat section
    ProximityEnabled=0 // (You will not be able to hear proximity chat but there will be no extra load to processor if people start using proximity chat)

    What kind of CPU do you have?
