So people want to get construction more involved: and generally hate Biolab stalemates. Soooo How about something along the lines of a Factory added to the construables. A factory could build certain "offensive" modules that would be attached to an ANT (in addition to it's other mod slots, but blocking the weapon one). Offensive modules could include things like primarily; Biolab Shield EMP. The ant Deploys within the hex-range of said biolab. Some form of UI enables the owner to select a "quadrent" of the biolab. So long as a vague line of sight check passes; the EMP charges after a min or so and EMPs the selected quarter of the biolab; bringing down the whole out blue impenetrable shield in that section for a few minutes. Deployable elevator pads: specifically for bio lab assaults though possibly worked into towers as well, these would have to be custom marked for each quad of each biolab but essentially enabling troops to get up to their newly opened way in. No-Deploy Penetration Generator: Sounds kinky. With this module the ant can deploy *ANYWHERE* and once it has; a medium sized hole in the no-deploy zone is opened up to enable friendly sunderers to deploy. This disruption effect will mean any friendly sunderers within range will be unable to cloak or use deployment shield, and will repair at a slower rate. (No effect on sunderers deployed outside a no-deploy zone to prevent trolling). These are just some ideas; Eitherway it would make building a base worth while since construction could play a role in offensive instead of sitting defensively; rudcing the ability for the enemy to just sit and turtle forever if they just ignore a factory being built nearby.
I think many people say they hate them but in all actuality I feel just as many if not more actually like them and look forward to a good biofarm. The gaming population's collective mindset fluctuates each and every day I think as to whether or not something is enjoyed or disliked on that particular day, and it's even more variable when you break it down into individual preference on any given day. I appreciate your time and effort on bringing your ideas here but I will leave judgment to others. Biolabs are low on my radar. To me they are just like any other base or areas deemed to be stalemates. They are easily broken by a determined and concerted effort and even more so when you use tactical *cough* overpop *cough* superiority.
