[Suggestion] Combat Medic - Empire specific weapon/tool

For me and I believe most players the Combat Medic is a class for squad play. If im playing solo I prefer basically any other class.

Assault Rifles are awesome, but it needs something extra, something like the rocklet rifle will be for the light assault.

Please help me by suggesting what empire specific weapon or tool you think could be added.

I am NOT saying buff medic, just give me a reason to take medic instead of the other, more useful solo classes. I think the empire specific part will help to make it more "fun" instead of just a buff.

    Thanks in advance :D

Apologies if English is not your first language, but your thread doesn't make very much sense. You wish for people to share ideas on what could be added to the Combat Medic, however you ask of this for the reason of wanting to play it? Any ideas people do share likely wont be added to the Medic, so that is irrelevant, but there are many reasons to play the class in solo circumstances.

If you are a player capable of surviving in general 1v1 combat then the Combat Medic is likely a better choice due to being able to self heal rapidly, this allows you to engage in multiple fights. Of course it is somewhat overlooked now due to Implants, but the ability is still quite useful for self purposes.

Honestly I just want something new and interesting for the combat medic. A heavy assault with advanced shield capacitor and adrenaline shield is MUCH better at engaging in multiple fights or even 1v1s. Light assault and infiltrators focus more on not taking damage in the first place. Engineer can use tools like mines and turrets to attack from afar (however it requires you to be prepared beforehand).

The combat medic is fine for squads, but in solo play it is only useful for reviving one or two players you find along the way. Combat medics need something extra that helps them in solo play. Regeneration isn't that good, considering implants and medkits are available to any class.

I think a better idea would be a new class that use AR's. Medics should just be medics imo.

I'd like a little drone that follows the Medic around. The drone would come in three flavours:

Shield Repair- Slowly regenerate the shields of a single friendly target.
Healing- Slowly regenerate the health of a single friendly target.
Reviving- Periodically (maybe once a minute) revive a nearby non-MAX friendly target.

The drone would be autonomous, meaning that you wouldn't be able to pick the target. Balance-wise it would probably be significantly weaker than the current Medic tool and slightly weaker than the current Shield Regen deployable.

The purpose would be to augment fast-moving squads. The deployables are nice, but they're more for point-holds or static combat. When moving through a base such devices are less useful. It wouldn't be better than the current Medic tool, but its autonomous nature allows the Medic to be combat effective while providing some medical support.

The drone will be too difficult to implement. It would bump or go through objects around the medic, and would give away its position.

However its not that bad of an idea. Replace the medicgun with a spitfire-like turret that heals slowly or somehow revives allies. You could only carry one per resupply, so if it dies its gone.

Imagine if a medic could somehow revive himself with this turret until it too was killed.

Seems cool but couls be kinda OP.
    Thoughts?

Lets call it a First Aid Turret!

Maybe have only one per resupply, and they have 3 "charges". If the medic presses a button similar to c4, it creates a pulse like the revive grenade.

It could possibly also give passive health regeneration to allies close to it, similar to the medics "Triage" cert.

Essentially this would seperate the medic and the combat parts. The medic can focus on using his weapons rather that listening to "I NEED A MEDIC OVER HERE" all day.

I've started playing as a shooty, fighty combat medic - up there with the assault and healing or rezzing as a sideline. It has everything I want in a class since I stopped just thinking of myself as a carebear. And the certs! oh man, the certs! Allies dying all around.

A CQC AR (TORQ 9, GR22, H-V45) is a thing of beauty and worth playing medic just for the chance to use it IMHO.

If I fancy or need to do a bit of long range stuff, the burst ARS with 3.4x or 4x sights are ridiculously accurate. A rewarding challenge. And still the allies are dying around me.

And rezz 'nades are very satisfying to use too. After all, my allies are also dying in all sorts of places I can't go without getting killed myself by running over large open tracts of land swept with bullets and explosions.

So, there are elements of sniping and HA you can explore as well as raking in the heal and rezz certs.

I just wish I could do more with my C4................

I want my medic and the recipient to moan a little every time a heal is activated.

    .

No. Just..........no. This is like saying, "How about l take away your money printer and give you a minimum wage, zero hours contract instead?"

The issue with that is that it still doesn't support a moving squad. A deployable has the problem of being linked to a specific spot. That's fine if all you're doing is holding a building. But say your squad is moving through multiple buildings to clear a base. Then a deployable is much less effective because it cannot keep up with them.

The assault rifles themselves should be reason enough to want to play medic as they're mostly very good guns.
The shield regen dong can generate a crazy amount of xp/certs when placed correctly.
Tired of being a shield dong/revive bot? No prob! Switch to medium assault loadout, use the aoe heal as a pseudo shield and murder things with your rifle and grenades and c4.
