I am quite sure this topic has been discussed before, but I will just bring it up again: They are always talking about balancing factions, in my opinion, they should start by one of the easiest things: The beginner pistol. I don't say Mag-Shot and Beamer are bad or crap, they are great sidearms, but how can they be compared to repeater? If you could switch on easy-mode in this game, you would get repeater. Why do TR newbies then get it for free while the other factions have to pay 1000 certs for a nearly equivalent weapon? (BTW, I haven't tested out Spiker yet, everyone is complaining, but it has 2x burst as desperado now and great Vanu is never happy with what he got). My suggestion is to either give Tr emperor as standard sidearm-or give desperado and spiker to the others to get some balance. Oc those weapons are no distance monsters, but to be honest, which new player would use his pistol to engage long distance targets? Pls don't hate to much, was just an idea.
I personally don't mind factions not starting with roughly identical kit. Changing these would be a step towards giving the VS a different starter LMG, and the NC a different starter Sniper Rifle and if we changed those, people would lose major whining points. (Then this forum would be at risk of dying.)
Burst fire pistol was a TR-exclusive trait at launch. Now you all have an equilvalent of our toy for purchase and you start complaining that we start with one? Are you out of your mind?
Whats up with the TR hate these days? As soon PPA was fixed its time to whine on Banshee, Claymore and now repeater? This is the least important thing atm and you know devs will not listen on this(even if they read it) Let me guess. You got killed by a low BR and you got mad... Well now if you want this so badly then we need to change NC lmg as you get advanced foregrip and compensator in the starter lmg and we need to change your starter sniper rifle because TR and VS have a scout rifle as starter.
Repeater has highest DPS as far as I know, but its recoil is worse than other two equivalents. Magshot and Beamer is much more easy to control.
I don't think there's anything wrong with giving different factions different weapon. What bugs me is the incredible power a Repeater has. It's like an accurate pocket-shotgun, and easier to wield than the Magshot. Most of the time when I really need to switch to pistol I am pretty close... perfect for the Repeaters semi-lack of accuracy when burst firing to finish someone off. The repeater is the only pistol that I can use where I can be surprised if I lose from primary wielding people. I got the Desperado, and it's a better weapon at range... but it just can't match the awesome "dead before they know it" power the Repeater boasts.
I guess you are getting me wrong. I am not mad at all, although yes, I have been killed by low Br with repeater already. I support letting banshee how it is atm and I have not noticed any claymore bugs/claymore being OP. I didn't know that, if this is the case, I retreat from my suggestion. Yes, that's right and kinda unfair (altough Vanu can't complain, they still have orion). But that... just lol...
