    I recently reinstalled the game from steam and the daybreak launcher comes up after loading. It starts to update and i get the following error message pop up:

    Unable to download HTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date:{Thu, 12 Jan 2017 01:31:30 GMT;;Last-Modified: Fri, 06 Jan 2017 02:15:54 GMT} (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.daybreakgames.../live/planetside2-live.sha.soeHTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date:{Thu, 12 Jan 2017 01:31:30 GMT;;Last-Modified: Fri, 06 Jan 2017 02:15:54 GMT} (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.daybreakgames.../live/planetside2-live.sha.soeHTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date:{Thu, 12 Jan 2017 01:31:30 GMT;;Last-Modified: Fri, 06 Jan 2017 02:15:54 GMT} (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.daybreakgames.../live/planetside2-live.sha.soeHTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date:{Thu, 12 Jan 2017 01:31:30 GMT;;Last-Modified: Fri, 06 Jan 2017 02:15:54 GMT} (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.daybreakgames.../live/planetside2-live.sha.soeHTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date:{Thu, 12 Jan 2017 01:31:30 GMT;;Last-Modified: Fri, 06 Jan 2017 02:15:54 GMT} (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.daybreakgames.../live/planetside2-live.sha.soeHTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date:{Thu, 12 Jan 2017 01:31:30 GMT;;Last-Modified: Fri, 06 Jan 2017 02:15:54 GMT} (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.daybreakgames...lanetside2-live/live/planetside2-live.sha.soe

    Does anyone have any suggestions how i can work around this and update the game? I last reinstalled in November for a month and had no problems then, but then uninstalled to make some room for some games i bought over Christmas that i wanted to try out, but now i want to reinstall it again.

    OK

    Issue solved. This youtube video for fixing H1Z1 when that had the same problem, also worked for planetside 2

    I think this solution should be stickied as it might help other people who have uninstalled and reinstalled the game on the hard drive in the past. And it wasn't listed as a solution on the official support sites, yet it was the only one that worked for me.

    Actually it hasnt worked. It now lets me load into the character select scren but when its on the verge of joining the server, it crashed to desktop and i get the following message:

    Game Error G9

    Malfunction:

    We've encountered a problem. Please try again later.

    (I'm going to start a new ticket as i prematurely closed the other one, but i'm not going to hold my breath for a response either. I imagine it will be a few days, particularly due to it being a weekend. If anyone knows any work arounds it would be appreciated).

    I have tried all the usuals by the way, i've disabled firewall and antivirus, i've loaded as administrator, ive deleted all remnant files. Nothing seems to work :(

    Wikia says you have to re-install the game :(

    I reinstalled the game today and it actually ran when i played it straight after the installation. I played for about half an hour but then logged out to do some chores and when i tried load it again it wouldnt run anymore. The same problem had come back.

    that sucks.. how did it go with the support ticket?

    I actually let that old ticket run it's course (couldn't formerly close it) as i had to run these diagnostic tests for connection but it I know it's not that. But also i uninstalled Planetside 2 to make space to reinstall install battlefield 4. But (i made a seperate thread on this but should have added a note at end of this one) i've managed to find a rough fix of sorts.

    If i delete the temporary files that generate in appdata/daybreakgamecompany/digest/planetside2 I am able to play from the launcher again, as long as i delete those temporary files again afterwards. So i am able to play again which is cool! As i prefer Planetside 2 to Battlefield 4 even though both games are good.
