Can you serious eff up the air game anymore?

    Same as the Lib, nerf Air more and more with some pseudo buffs inbetween (ESF, Coyote + Tomcat Update; Liberator Update, Resistance+Comp Armor Update) and then nerf the crap out of them again and further (Coyote buff, new tomcat buff, resistance revert (which is ok by me!) and everything else nerf) - Pilots quit the game or just stop flying and everyone who complained is happy.

    The used-to pilots will use G2A Locks to kill the last flying ESF and just start playing with something else.

    • Direct damage is now on aircraft machine gun resist type Doesn't Change anything in ESFvESF Combat
    • This essentially means heavy armored vehicles (tanks & libs) will resist more
    • Max damage increased from 150 to 175 Buff
    • Base magazine size increased from 3 rounds to 5 rounds Buff
    • Max damage range reduced from 150 meters to 50 meters Nerf against groundtarget, at 150meters you can't reliably hit ESFs anyway
    • Minimum damage range reduced from 300 meters to 100 meters. same
    Looks like a straight up buff for the Airhammer in A2A Combat and a reduction in A2G abilities... the only Thing i don't understand is that i thought the Airhammer was a A2G gun. aside from that, whining about it is about as silly as the complaints from all the "we only attack other ESFs because we have more honor than ground peasants" ESF pilots that the not-Change against ESFs to the Rotary made it useless...

    I'm not going to judge this too harshly until I get in game and test it out.

    I will say though, if it ends up hendering the AI abilities of it, I'm going to be pretty pissed.

    As for it's adjustments against libs, it looks like it took a double nerf. The falloff for the AH was already pretty bad. Now it's even worse. And now libs will resist the damage even more.

    I suppose it will be nice having 8-9 rounds in the mag.

    But again, I'd like to try it out before making up my mind. I'll probably come back with my findings later.

    This is a ridiculous change to a weapon, that IMO was actually in a good place even though it is a shot gun on an air craft. You need to get fairly close to whatever your target is and now they are reducing max damage range to 50m & min damage to 100m. Are you ******** me...

    Are they going to make the same changes to the other ESF nose guns. I'd like to see them have to get that close to targets to be effective.

    The Air hammer is not a missile or a rocket. It is a shot gun, that required us to get much closer to our targets then the other ES-nose guns, now we are being forced to get even closer, while the other factions can snipe with their nose guns...

    The devs are way too infantry and whiner friendly to the point where vehicles are really just there for looks and are basically novelty shells to put you're character in. Infantry have way more range,lock-on's which basically keep everyone out of the fight and everyone has access to a one burster max. Vehicles need to be the factor that can change the tide of battle for more reasons than just to scare the enemy enough so they won't leave their spawn room instead walls were put up to keep tanks out of fights. And now they want vehicles to get closer to the overpowered swarms of infantry? Why would anyone want to do that in a game which allows everyone to carry a one shot explosive. If they want tanks to get closer then they should nerf AV weapons,but like it or not infantry is where the $ is at as far as the developers are concerned and the game is not doing that great as it is if it were we wouldn't be having server merges. I kinda wish this game was a PS4 exclusive so it didn't have to go through the ringer first and come out broken plus I never hear console players whine about games at all but PC players on the other hand aggressively try to get the game changed to whatever they want whether it's balanced or not. The worst part is the devs listen and now the whiners KNOW that they will listen,so they'll just keep whining until the game gets shut down because the people who are ruining the game really don't care and would just go play something else if this game wasn't around.

    The only other reason I can see them making all of these changes is to dumb the game down for PS4.

    The last guy who said that to me, with far more swear words, regreted it. So did the other two guys he had with him. I landed, switched to HA, smoked him, ventilated his two friends, took the point, and saved the base =^.^= Times like this make me wish I kept recording all my play sessions.

    Funny thing is I'm not even a good pilot. I'm far better on the ground as infantry... guess he figured that out quick enough though.

    You know why because they clearly said so. It was intended to be an A2A, specifically ESF vs ESF, weapon and it was being used to kill vehicles because it was good for that too. They changed it to fit THEIR idea of what the weapon should be used for. What you use it for and how you think it should work is largely irrelivant.

    Don't be supirsed when it gets nerfed vs infantry for the same reason; it's not an AI weapon. In fact it may have been nerfed vs infantry in this update to because it was changed from heavy machine gun to aircraft machine gun. Now I'm not sure how that impacts infantry because I don't know if there are any differences in resistances on infatry between these two types. We'll find out soon enough when everyone logs in and plays with the Air Hammer.

    I love how whenever a aircraft weapon sees balance it is always an absolute travesty and a great injustice.

    PC players do this on every game I have ever played especially when they figure out the people in charge are listening. If they get one thing nerfed they wil ask for another and another,anything that bothers them. Don't even try to blame this on the PS4 players who haven't even touched the game yet,I have fun on the PC at times but I definitely prefer the console community they generally take more responsibility for themselves and are at most times more friendly. Not to take anything away from the PC version of the game but there will most likely be less hackers and a smoother,more optimized game on the PS4 so there is nothing wrong if people prefer to play the game that way.

    I am not sure where you are getting a description of the Air-Hammer that says it's intended role is A2A. If anything I would argue the opposite, especially if you take into consideration the description of the Kestrel " The M20 Kestrel is designed with a larger magazine to reduce reloading frequency. This allows for fewer missed opportunities when engaging fast moving targets." The Air Hammer has a small magazine size, and very limited range and is described as follows " The M30 Mustang AH fires several explosive rounds in a single shot." so it would stand to reason that it is not necessarily intended for fast moving targets, but rather for slower targets.

    What the ****? They have made the lib as balanced as it will ever be.They define roles finally for lib weapons!Thank god i got tired always facing an anti-everything lib with Daltons and Shredders everywhere destroying all.Also tank shell/rocket resistance is good any idiot staying in 1 place should get punished and not be rewarded.

    SERIOUSLY THIS IS THE BEST UPDATE EVER!

    Did they messed up with your farming machine?Cry me a reaver.

    Anyway i agree that air hammer drop nerf was too much,it wasnt needed.Only the resist on armour was fine i donbt understand why they did that.

    I am not blaming this on PS4 players I could careless. I am simply stating that many of these proposed changes especially to MBT's seem odd, considering most people would agree that MBT's have been fairly balanced for a long time now, but these upcoming changes are going to completely throw that balance out the window. We all know that console gaming is different from PC gaming, primarily because of the Mouse/Keyboard combination and it seems to me that some of these changes are taking those controller differences into consideration.
