This game uses colors as well. It's the reason they are put on you. So you are easy to see and identify. There are many units that don't even have a unique shape per faction.

You many like it but that is they way it is.
  2. Klypto

But color has nothing to do with identifying the enemy. Faction color should be used to as an aesthetic for faction identity and not a primary means of identification.

Every time before I shoot and I'm not sure, I press Q. That tells me exactly if I should fire or not. And quite frankly if you aren't doing that you should.
  3. LT_Latency

    Yes it does.

You just don't know cause you never get out of a tank. When there are 50 people in a close range meat grinder. You don't have time to line up all the arrows over all the heads.

Also the arrows don't always render over everyone quickly.

So they applied colors so you instantly know who to shoot and who not to shoot.

    Nevermind.

I have 450 hours as medic. I know how it is to run into people wearing all white with no faction colors. I flat out don't use uniform color in IFF. Behavior, helmet shape, backpack and what gun they are carrying is what you use.
  6. LT_Latency

Well then picture that for every single player all the time. It just doesn't work.
  7. Klypto

    I don't understand.

This is the only FPS besides Team Fortress 2 that I've played which paints actual IFF colors on the characters like for children. This isn't some secret trade thing that is hard to figure out.

Most games just use Doritos / names. The absence of one is an enemy.
  8. LT_Latency

This is also the only FPS with 100 vs 100 battles and tons of different helmets to pick from.

Most FPS do use colors by the way. They just don't have as bright colors.
  9. Klypto

    That doesn't change anything?
  10. LT_Latency

    Sure it doesn't.

It's harder to figure out which arrows are for which players where there are 100 of them then instead of 10 of them.
  11. Klypto

I'm sorry but no, it's not.

Even in a Biolab it's not hard to figure out who is who.
  12. LT_Latency

Well, I have told you why. Not much else I can do. You can ignore it if you like

    It's not going to change.

That because you have colors, You can't say how it would be the other way cause you have never seen it.

The reality is there are famous cammos that people pick for the purpose of blending in with the enemy teams. So it does make it harder to tell who is on what team whether you want to admit it or not.

Who the hell is dumb enough to need a big *** ugly stripe of faction color to identify the bad guy? It's pretty easy considering all the factions look different anyway....

A new player who hasn't log 30 days of game play.

Even when I was a noob with a K/D of around 0.3 I could identify enemies in freaking giraffe camo BEFORE it got nerfed. There's a magical button you can spam known as Q that spots enemies and puts a big red dorito over their head.

You need to to be able to identify everyone on the field not just the person you are shooting at. You can also only spot so fast.

If a stealthier destealth in a room full of players all the players.....even the new and bad player need to be able to tell who is who when everyone in the room start shooting.
  17. SeanFree

Most people who passed kindergarten can already do that without absurd colors and occasionally pieces of clothing such a baby blue bras on NC infiltrators.

Not true, People already have trouble as it is now. People walk right by all the time and tons of people miss them.

It would only be 100 times worse if even one was the same
  19. Phyr

    MAG didn't need color coding...

We must play with people on complete opposite ends of the spectrum gameplay wise. The only time I lose someone is when they have black camo at night on the darkest parts of bases. Most of the people I know don't even use the terrain camos because we want to look as flashy as possible.
