"Can I get a refund on my rocket pods?"

    Wow.. where to start?

First, as others have mentioned the TOS covers this, so you are 'entitled' to nothing.

Second, the amount of money we are talking about is miniscule. If you live in the US, you can only go to small claims court unless its a much larger amount (in the thousands.. I don't recall the current number, but $5000 sticks in my head).

Third, you own nothing. You don't even own the software, the dollars you expend are thought of like 'rent' to use the software, and based on the current business model, you don't even have to rent it!

If you think, even for a nanosecond, that you have even a toe to stand on in the US legal system, then you really really really are out of touch with reality. My advice, try your luck with the legal system.. some predatory lawyer will strip you of your money and you'll have nothing to show for it other than higher blood pressure, the best side effect being that you'll not have time to post on these forums.

I'm glad the Infra on the pods were balanced, and no, you deserve no refund. The Rocket pods, especially with Infra vision were extremely overpowered, as are the heat guns with thermal/infra on tanks - the infra/thermal should be removed completely from vehicles in order to balance and stop the selfish farmers from ruining otherwise decent infantry fights.

Yup.. the OP is a classic example of emo-rage.
  4. Nacasatu

Oh and as for threatening to sue, SoE should introduce a policy of perm banning anyone who even threatens it.
  5. dough

Heh heh.. that sounds a little 'customer abusive', but certainly I agree with the spirit of the comment. To me its just another example of the tendency of so many in the culture to feel entitled then enraged when those entitlements aren't delivered. Its the opposite of everything I learned when I was a kid in the 60s/70s (the world owes you nothing, you are personally responsible for your actions, caveat emptor, ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking the law, etc).

Unfortunately OP, yes, this post will be locked, all the sony fanboys will tell you that you spent money to 'be OP'and you shouldn't expect a refund, so just do what I do and suggest nobody buy anymore weapons with station cash.

I'm tired of buying weapons that are side grades, certing them out and then having the certs completely wasted because of 'balancing'. Just give me my certs back for the weapons, toss the weapon unlocks in the trash and let me spend the certs on something else.

This is the way balancing works in EQ, EQ2, Vanguard, WoW, Lotro, CoH (RIP), and pretty much every other MMO out there.

When a class is changed substantially (and you would be hard pressed to argue these changes aren't substantial) then you should have the ability to do a points reset and spend them on what you'd like.

The only type of refunds viable for online games is ingame currency.

    Pods still work gud.
Unnecessary nerfs are still unnecessary but... meh

There's no fanboys and they were extremely overpowered with the Infra/Thermal and allowed absolute farming of other players with almost impunity. There was even a guy on here the other day whining about not having enough enemy players to farm on Waterson server because he was TR and they server is TR overpopped. He had over 41,000 kills and less than 2,700 deaths.
Please, explain to me how that is not overpowered when a player with infra vision on skillpods can spam away and rack up easy kills like that, along with his spawncamping of sunderers in his tank with thermal vision ?

They were overpowered, they still are overpowered and ALL Thermal/Infra should be removed from both Air and Ground vehicles in order to balance things out better. You do NOT deserve a refund just because a balance change stops you from farming or spawn camping. Noobs, get out of your vehicles and help out your faction for a change instead of spawn camping or selfishly farming for yourself to push up your oh so important COD k/d epeen rate and stop nerd raging on the forums about it. All of you nerd raging here and demanding refunds haven't even bothered to subscribe to the game, you've spent what, 3 dollars on a weapon in a free game ? Really, you want that 3 dollars back ?
Couldn't even buy a horse burger these days for 3 dollars.

and I do believe that is all I've ever asked for

OP is a little teenie weenie.
"Welcome to the real world,... son".. lol

As noted from someone earlier, you bought SC. SC is the same.
  12. TomaHawk

Of course they won't allow refunds, as playing with a regular paid subscriptions IS NOW OPTIONAL. Had it been a P2P model where to see the inside of the game required a credit card, then things would be different. One of the perks of paying a subscription should be the ability to get refunded certs and/or SC.

The current system in place either frustrates players into not playing any more or forces them to spend way more certs and SC fixing previous mistakes on the stuff they bought.
  13. VelcroPudding

I honestly wouldn't care one bit if they removed thermal and infra, both of which are completely useless in their current state, Nacastu.

All we want is a refund, I'm not sure why that affects you in any way. Is there some reason you are so adamant against someone wanting to reset their points so they might be able to certify into a new way of fighting?

Would you happen to be afraid that someone might spec their HA or LA with all those extra points and then your once super powerful fully certed infantry class will have competition?

It seems awfully confusing why you care if someone gets a refund or not. I'm beginning to think that no, you aren't a fanboy, you're just afraid the intelligent players will cert into your area of expertise and you will have competition.
  14. Stordito

    i wouldn't claim refound
but i'm not going to spend any more SC on things that can be "balanced".
therefore i will buy just cosmetics.

Exactly Stordito, it's really terrible that we have to hold our money back though. I'd much rather be secure in the knowledge I can reposition my certs if something gets 'balanced'. I just don't understand why that can't be done, it's a rather simple fix to all the problems. I really don't understand why Sony gives a frak whether we reuse the points or not, we already paid the money, at this point they have already gotten the cash so its just numbers in a database. It's not like I'm gonna take my cert points and spend em on Crysis 4 or something.

You should know by now that NO where in the game ToS does it say it will refund your purchases under any circumstance.
  17. Nacasatu

You said you wanted SC refund, not certs refunded ? I'm confused now, are you changing your mind or just changing your argument to suit ? If it's certs you want refunded then why ? Certs are endlessly gained and there's no need to refund them, as much as I'd like the option available myself due to purchasing stupid scopes for stupid weapons. SC are another matter, you purchased SC to spend as you wish, you didn't gain them. If you get a SC refund due to crying the loudest because your farming weapon of choice was nerfed than I would also like a full refund for both membership paid + all SC bought to date due to having my game ruined by spawncamping lame pathetic and selfish farmers with overpowered weapons on vehicles/aircraft - That'll be a lot more than 3 dollars they'll have to refund.

Oh and yeah, yeah, I'm afraid someone or other will cert into something or other else to do something something whatever. What the hell, are you five years old, what a stupid argument.
  18. GSZenith

it is really amazing the number of ppl that haven't read ToC, please go away already.
  19. FightingFirst

Read what you posted here. You have no grounding in a legal education so dont assume things you know nothing about.

Certs or station cash, what's the difference it's still just fake digital currency. I just want to be able to adjust my points versus time spent. Certs have a finite time investment, so yes, spending 4 days farming up certs to load out weapons that I don't use is 4 days of wasted time, so I'd love to have those points to put into things I will use now that the items are not usable. Oh, and by the way, I loaded out my weapons with IR because my real life friend (who was my bomber) is color blind and was having trouble picking out enemies on the ground without IR.

If they gave me the certs for the weapons and all the certs I put into them I'd be fine with that, it's just about time invested.

To be perfectly clear, and maybe you have no concept of this so I'll spell it out; the reason this game is free to play is to get more people to play it, otherwise the game would be incredibly boring and vacant. So my playing the game actually helps the game thrive. The players are a commodity who invest time and keep things interesting for each other.

If you took one second to look at my stats you would notice that I have a horrible KD ratio and have a large percentage of headshots because 90% of my time is spent as an infiltrator, behind enemy lines, hacking stations and prepping bases. I don't just fly around and lib bomb all day, so really why are you being so pathetic pointing fingers and calling me a noob etc? I can assure you my friend, there very few people that have been playing FPS's as long as I have been.

I honestly believe you are afraid my request for a refund is going to negatively affect you. And the only logical reason would be that you are afraid.

Ask yourself honestly. Why do you care if I get my certs refunded?

What does it matter to you?
Do you think you should have the option to recertify as well?

    Guess what?

    I agree.
