Moin I don't see the need for this nerf. I don't have C4 on any class, but I've got C4ed a couple of times in my tank and one time even in my ESF. I deserved to die. A better thing would have been to give tanks a weak rearspot against C4. So no flying and C4 throwing LA, but still the possibility to kill tanks with two bricks. My opinion. Is this nerf a damage nerf or is it a resistance buff for MBTs? Basically will my C4 bring a non-comp sundy to burning any more?
I'm glad to read this, I don't use vehicles that much but was tired of anytime I pulled a MBT I'd get killed by C4 out of no where and it's instantly dead.
Yesterday I watched our sunderer survive 5 c-4/ tank mine drop pods landing on/around it. We were on point though, shooting them as they rendered. I think the problem with c-4 was just the instant death factor, and this will remedy that, while still making it an awesome alpha strike against a vehicle.
Hey, let's cripple one of the few good reasons to play LA! Really? If I manage to get C4 on your lightning you deserve to die a horrible death. Are the devs trying to force everyone into playing HA at this point? If you are a tank driver and you don't use the radar, you have no right to complain about being C-4 killed.
Why they keep "trying" to nerf LA is beyond me? Hmmm Tankers complain MAX users complain Sundy Drivers complain Many complain just to complain since they have been blown up by C4 at some point, many of whom have never spent much time playing LA at all. If a cannonfodder LA can get the C4 in place and actually press the big red button, well, you should be a burning wreak or a dead MAX in my opinion. I have lost Tanks, MAX's, Sunderers and even once a ESF to C4, every time it was my own undoing by not paying attention or trying to CQC with a Tank or MAX feeling invincible until someone with C4 reminded me i wasn't Sometimes i think people forget that a MBT for example has "unlimited damage potential" if it has a source of ammo while LA's got their two bricks of C4, needs a sundy or terminal to resupply and lets not forget the biggest difference... Wait for it... LA is a lightly armored infantry unit not a Heavy Armored Main Battle Tank that can rofl-stomp infantry most of the time
They do, and this nerf would also effect the medic. It just wouldn't hurt them as much because they have a job other than killing that they can perform. I do try to find LA buddies, except there hardly is anyone who runs it a lot. They either don't have the playstyle to match the class, they're new, or they don't have C4. If I was VS then I wouldn't be complaining because I'd probably hang out with RogueComet, except I'm NC and focus on killing him. On the other hand HAs are relatively common, and they can kill vehicles out of the box. If a squad would simply get ~4-5 HAs they could instantly kill any tank with a hail of rockets, with plenty of space for support such as medics and engineers.
Yes LA has no AV capability that class is called HA. LA can shoot from odd places still pumpkin bomb troops and MAXs and enter buildings through unconventional means. LA should NOT hard counter a 450 resource, 2 manned, restricted timer, restricted availability MBT. As it is you can still kill a tank with 2 C4 then an under-barrel grenade, which is still ridiculous when you consider it costs you only 200 inf resource and a 0 resource grenade. My opinion C-4 still needs to be nerfed against MBT's.
And yet MBTs have much more killing power than infantry. Why can't I stop your 20-0 killstreak in your tank because you overextended? Can C4 realistically kill 20 people per life? No. So why should something that is a one off be nerfed against something that can generate much more return on investment per life?
Confirmed as not heading for live on its own at this point. Likely part of a greater set of changes still to come.
i think the whole reason that this got nerfed was that the majority of the playerbase would go "oh noes a Heavy tank, better grab a light a assault." that does not add up. LAs were turning into the HARD COUNTER to tanks because of c4 thus the c4 nerf. SOE did the right thing. people who say "what is the point of playing light assault now that they cant yolo solo vehicles?" only prove the point that people were playing light assaults as hard counters to vehicles.
Lol SOE already stated the C4 change on PTS was unintended, therefore C4 is not being nerfed. And to be honest, C4 is only a hard counter to people in tanks with little to no situational awareness, if they see you before you place the C4, you will probably not get the kill and/or die.
This nerf is BAD, totally the wrong thing to nerf. Tanks are supposed to be vulnerable to infantry that get within their comfort zone, if you want to nerf infantry AV then nerf striker swarms or engi AV turrets - you know things which kill you from beyond render distance. Losing my tank to C4 is probably the LEAST frustrating way to die in this game, actually knowing unarguably that I was not paying attention/getting too focused/etc and paid for my mistake to a guy running a practical suicide mission as far as risk-reward goes is actually fair. But of course why should I accept that it was my fault and learn when I can go BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW online. PS just because LA is the preferred choice of AV does not automatically make them a *hard counter*, a hard counter is like a HE tank to a medic or a dalton to a sunderer. C4 LA is merely an *option*, even if you consider it your preferred choice.
C4 is definitely over powered. they need to INCREASE the resource cost. Can't tell if the entire thread is trolling, but this is my 2 cents.
Yes because something that is buggy and can easily be countered by: Looking up, getting a gunner, running prox, Q ing your targets, not sticking around in 1 spot, and avoiding places like cliffs and towers where LA can hover over you and take 6 sec of button mashing to blow up your tank. Yep seems OP because looking up is far to difficult for any tank driver to do.
