Just logged after two mildly frustrating weapons malfunctions: #1: The GL for the Terran engineer carbine, whatevertheheck it's called, doesn't reload reliably from an ammo pack -- even when I throw it down and squat on it like a mother hen. Perhaps one time in three it functions as it ought. The rest of the time it refuses to refill, or gives me one or two or three grenades and *then* gets stuck, or adds one bullet to my carbine ammo so that I'm carrying 201 rounds (LOL). Additionally, when this happens I cannot swap back to the carbine; you have to cycle to another weapon, then select the carbine again. I've died many times pointing an empty GL at somebody. #2: The AT mine would appear to be bugged, or there are countermeasures to it I don't know about (unsurprising, since this game still has no BLOODY FREAKING USER'S GUIDE, /techwriter nerdrage). I laid down two in a road and then watched a column of Magriders drift right over it. Nada. Ran out and tossed down two more in the midst of them, got run over eventually. Still no gratifying explosions. I know you don't *have* to be a suicidal loony tune to be a Terran combat engineer, but it helps. That has long been our claim to fame. Yet I grow a bit weary at dying stupidly and to no avail, and through no fault of my own. Is anyone else having these problems? Do they represent known issues? Should I be filing bug reports instead...?
The UBGL is bugged, not just the TR one. Mines not detonating... might be a bug or just bad luck. Are you sure you deployed AT mines and not the AI mines? Dont worry too much if you die stupidly, its what TRs do better... eehm i meant... you will get better at it.

Yeah, they're both bugged. There's a workaround for the GL reload issue, and thing to watch out for with the mines that will at least let you know (most of the time) when they've not actually been deployed. For the GL, equip any other gun, fire a shot or two and then reload. Interrupt the reload by switching back to the GL and presto! it will reload. Kind of a PITA, especially in the heat of battle, but it works. For the mines, apparently moving forward at all cancels the deployment, so you have to watch closely when laying them out to see A) if they're actually visible where you put them, and B) whether the HUD ammo counter has actually decreased. Really a PITA, can totally screw you in the heat of battle, and doesn't really work that well :\
Lay down your ammo pack first. Then keep it on your primary weapon until the ammo pack spawns. This will allow you to reload as long as you stand in range of the ammo pack. Do not lay down your ammo pack with your grenade launcher equipped or it will bug.
mines can sink into the ground, but I thought they detonated anyway maybe that's only anti-personnel mines, or maybe floaty Magriders are immune to sunken mines
Ahh you feel my pain. I was really looking forward to this launcher only to be thawarted by the reload bug. Also there is the 0 DMG bug with it. HIt somone dirrectly with a grenade and NADA. Think that one expands to all explosives though. Had it happen with grenades and launchers G2A and G2G ones point blank direct hits that do 0 dmg to the enemy but kill me... When it comes to the mines yes the suck with that think theres a timer to detonate if something gets arround them or its a bug. Ive watched mags, sundys, prowlers, you name it drive right over mine to no effect. Hell ive even stuck some on the butt's of Mags just to watch them sit there. The only way they went off was because i shot them.
