im not kidding this thing is a total waste of station cash,

    its pretty useless

not only is rocket speed so dam slow thats if you manage to get a lock on with it,if they havnt dodged it or outran the rocket, the little chance it has of actually hitting the target it barely does any damage, you hear the *PING* of the hit but when you look at your target for the damage its done, you will be lucky if it takes 5% of the targets health.

unless this weapon gets a pretty big damage buff its a totaly waste of time,

what SOE need to do is reduce the cert cost and station cash cost of the other lock on launchers and refund the players the excess the amount reduced.because the ns annihilator is utter cr@p
  2. bPostal

It's supposed to be used to fill the air between yourself and far off vehicles with rockets. You need more than just yourself.
At least it's good for getting aircraft and magriders to **** off when they see the lockon. Well, at least some of the time.
  3. Cute-CandyPants

    lol are you serious ?

i dont think firing water baloons at targets is going to cut it.
  4. bPostal

    You must fire Hundreds!!!
Make them fear the prune fingers!

Are you sure we're using the same thing? I tested it out today and the projectile speed was blindingly fast compared to the traditional AA lock on launcher. I literally had 1 rocket that circled my targeted mosquito 2 times before hitting him and killing him (he was 35% ish health)

This thing completely invalidated the Crow and Hawk. Its damage is a little low, but at least your finally hitting the stuff your locked on to, and the reload speed is pretty nice.

A measure of its low damage is 2 rockets to the rear of a lightning bring the lightning to 1-2% health, but not dead.

I'm not sure if you're trolling or just plain wrong.

The Annihilator launches the fastest missile I've seen in the game thus far and that's why its my favourite AV weapon. It hits targets that aren't moving evasively up to 300M away which is pretty damn <--(that's a positive word censored not a negative one) far as this game goes. It's damage is lower than the default dumbfire launcher, that's why I pick off fleeing enemies or focus fire with allies.
  7. xen3000

If this is true I am going to have to pick it up. Missile speeds in the game are ridiculously slow.
  8. Johnnyseven

Don't get me wrong, it still isn't the speed of an actual missile, but its far far faster than the default dumbfire.

One of my favourite things to do with the Annihilator is to quickly jerk my aim to the sky a split second before I fire after getting solid lock. This makes a surprisingly big difference to the arc of the missile and ends up letting it follow some tanks as they duck behind hills/rocks. Definitely worth trying out.
  9. Cute-CandyPants

must be a bad pilot then, all the ones i shot at just outran the rocket till it blew.
  10. Raigir

I Doubt all of the 30 odd pilots I shot at were all bad. I trialed it and spent the whole trial just firing it at any air that came within reach.
Also every single pilot tried to out run it but couldn't. A handful of them successfully thwarted it by getting it to run into something, but even then I was impressed by the trajectory for most of the time the missile stayed true to the target's path, similiar to the A2A missles on ESFs.

The only time they had a guarantee of dodging it was popping flares.
  11. Cute-CandyPants

takes about 4 rockets to kill a single piloted aircraft and about 14 for a liberator and about 10 for a tank lol
  12. Raigir

I don't disagree that its damage is low. Libs have always been hard to kill period. It is not optimal against tanks, but with the help of focused fire from even 1 friend, it can certainly send a tank packing or dead.

As for the ESFs, all I can really say is at least I am hitting them for once. The hawk just wouldn't even hit even if they didn't flare.
  13. Cute-CandyPants

thats what im saying the NS anny is just garbage and can be easily out ran

I'd like to see some video comparisons of the performance between the old G2A launcher and the Annihilator. I honestly wasn't able to tell much difference in performance last night, but I only got to use the Annihilator briefly - got slogged down into an infantry fight during the trial, and for once there weren't really any vehicles around to shoot at.
  15. Raigir

I don't think you understood what I said.
  16. Hammerklau

Currently it doesnt do damage to turrets when locked on.. which is fun.
  17. Naberius13

Given up on trying to buff VS weapons and Bolt Actions OP? Do you just throw a dart at a board with the different weapons on it then make a post asking for it to be buffed? Funny threads and all, but rarely anything else.
  18. VKhaun

Works fine as a deterrent. They can't dodge it unless they dodge it, which can't be done hovering in place and rocket pod spamming or doing strafe runs in neat straight lines.

The operator also needs to choose when to fire, rather than just waiting for a green box. Let it go past you so it's chasing them rather than having to start with a 90* turn or firing past them and making it try to do a 180*, or fire as they approach a point they're going to hover. You can also just let it sit there with the green box up so they waste their flares since nothing tells them when you actually fire, and only warns them that someone has a lock.

If the devs said this was supposed to pwn ESF and Libs I would be with this topic, but they don't. They want ground based AA to be deterrent which prevents them from operating with impunity, and I find that it's more or less doing that. IMHO, I would make it a little stronger but I play mostly infantry and I accept my bias so it's probably pretty good right about now.

NS Annihilatior is working as intended. It's a purpose-made launcher, you choose if you want to use. But, by choosing it, you accept the penalty of lower damage, at the cost of being able to lock on to all designatable targets.

NS Annihilator is working as intended, stop whining about it, it's not supposed to be "high-damage, easy mode, fire and forget".
  20. Immortal-D

All rockets are severely underpowered against armor right now, regardless of which launcher you choose. Infantry-based anti vehicle will never be brought into line, just the nature of the beast. The only thing you can do is not give Sony any money, and just play for the lulz. When you take the game with a grain of salt, it becomes more enjoyable, especially if you don't pay them until issues like this are addressed.
