It's safe to say that the MSW-R is the Orion for the TR...except for being worse. The Orion gets a .75 ADS move speed and basic laser sight along with having better hipfire accuracy than the MSW-R... with adv. laser sight. How is this balanced? Aside from the differences stated above the weapons are pretty much the same... 750 RPM, good reload speeds, 50 rounds per mag. Has anyone found a reason to use this gun over the CARV that costs 200 less certs and has 50 more rounds? Just a side note: I wish SOE would give the TR's LMGs a redo. They all feel the same -ADS and equip a grip to control crazy horizontal jitter. I would love for more variety, and also a faction trait besides slow reloads and crazy horizontal recoil.
MSW-R/Chaingun all day if I play HA. Though I play Engineer/Medic quite a bit more I can say that I probably won't be putting down the MSW-R any time soon, the hipfire on it is amazing and with a reflex and soft point it's what you take inside to bring down piston wielding NC HA. It was good before last update, where it got a little treatment along with every factions 50rd lmgs, and it's just as good now.
..... Orion does NOT have better hipfire than the MSW-R. MSW-R's hipfire is 1.5 with 2 lasers, the Orion's should be around 2 with its 1 laser... Also the MSW has much less recoil and its 1 sided.... So please stop QQ'ing about one of the best guns in the game...
The only flaw with the MSW-R is it's RoF... while ADS. That .35 vertical can really mess me up where as the Trac-5's .3 does not. For 100 certs, it's a damn fine gun. If you're regularly engaging someone over distance, however, stick with the TMG-50, T32 Bull, or T16 Rhino, so you can focus on hitting $#!% instead of fighting with the recoil. I run laser on ALL my weapons (**** fore-grips) so I personally recommend the T32 Bull for the already lowish hip-CoF, the the Rhino is no slouch in CQC either, it has the ammo to spare. I wouldn't recommend the TMG though, it can do CQC with a laser too, but compared to the other two, it's kind of unreliable. Bullet wall > power when it comes to hip firing. I use the T9 CARV as my all-range gun, when I figure I'll be dealing with medium distances primarily with some short expected in the mix, mostly against assassins with SMGs.
Just lol.... Have a look at the stats. If you don't want lower horizontal recoil, look at the tmg-50 or t16 rhino. The MSW and Carv are meant for close range due to high dps and high horizontal recoil.
2k+ kills with the CARV, auraxium on MSW-R and I can safely say that the MSW-R is a direct upgrade to the CARV in everything appart from clip size. MSW-R is fine (tough I realy want a 2X reflex for it occasionaly, same with T16 rhino and T9 CARV) Love them both and wouldn't trade them for anything in the NC or VS arsenal (yes that includes the god saw)
MSW-R is just an Orion but better. Better than the carv too unless you're in an absolute *********** situation. Fine if you ask me.
Not a single sentence which is truth. In fact, Orion needs an equipment boost (SPA, Adv. Laser). But obvously Sony doesn't like balance, see SVA-88/Pulsar vs Bull/Carv-S in which case the terran LMGs are very bad compared to the vanu options.
