My 300 Lumens LED Lenser flash-light will beam out further than 100m.
So yeah, in the far future on Auraxis I'm sure they can make flash-lights a bit brighter than a candle lantern...

I don't care how many bumps it takes for this to happen.

To be honest I wondered why Gun Attach Flashlights, Night Vision and Headlights were even in the game. its so bright at night its impossible to NOT see people running around.

Right now you can just turn off your headlights because you don't need em anyway

I laughed at the description for the flashlight attachment (see in dark areas). I said to myself... "dark areas??"

    Read through the thread:
Modern technology does not allow turning up the gamma to allow easier sight. Color depth and other tricks can be used. See the example of what Arma already does:

I loved the nights in Beta. The atmosphere of tracers flying back and forth, flashlights shining through the grass, explosions lighting up the cover around you.... Amazing.

BUMP! If they want, they can just add night variations. The moonlight is so dang bright all the time, I can't see

This would just make nights even more tedious to non-IRNV users. Thermals are already OP as they are, gimping the visibility of others would only force people to use those optics...

As long as IRNV and other nonsense stays in the game, No to darker nights.

    I'm in.

One of the VERY few topics where each faction agrees wholeheartedly with each other, with no-one calling out NERF!

    This is something special.

Muzzle flashes, flashlights and explosions should provide light to see in huge battles. Bases should also have lights to somewhat illuminate the battlefield and allow the use of non-IR optics. However, in the areas between bases, the darkness should allow infantry, and maybe even tanks, to move around relatively stealthily.

To prevent overuse of IRNV scopes and NV optics, they can be adjusted to become virtually useless in daytime by increasing the background brightness while the sun it up, blinding the user. For vehicle thermal optics, their ability to be used in both day and night should justify it costing 4 times as many certs.

I totally agree. Visibility should mean something beyond whether or not you can see the Vanu colors at night.
