RAWC of the NC was at NS Refinery for the defence and it was awesome, I will post some gameplay of myself platoon leading when the upload finishes. :)

Undermanned yes, but its the little squads that punch above their weight (due to not having the crutch of numbers to fall back on), so start getting multiple organised outfits working together, and watch them just demoralise larger enemy zerg forces.

Or have them work independently and actually defend the front line, instead of all balled up in one territory while the rest gets capped. As in your example, Trol dropping over a platoon to deal with 2 squads just shows a commonly occuring waste of VS player numbers.

The point is, small organised outfits can combine forces to get an objective very quickly, large zergfits find it very difficult to split forces to deal with multiple objectives.

but your small specialise squad would take an hour of an alert to clean up the two squads all the time whining for support from the entire VS population but TROL drops the hammer , cleans up and moves on.
  4. theholeyone

Not really, if its defense we blow whatever sundies they bring up until they get tired or call for overwhelming reinforcements. If its attack, yes it might take a bit longer, not an hour though, one side either gets reinforcements or moves elsewhere. In either case, if one squad is tying up two enemy squads it's a good thing, lightens the load for the rest of the line.

Also, by clean up, do you mean wait for cap points while spawn camping? Again this is where splitting forces makes better use of our limited player numbers. Leave a few squads behind so the rest can go drop the hammer somewhere else, speed things up a bit that way.

Anyway, if any VS commander is interested in working together more, I'm sure something could be sorted out. But as you can see, first thing required is some discussion as to roles and best uses of various outfits and their members. But prior to that, all this d*ck swinging and b*tth*rt needs to stop; or at least be taken much more lightheartedly, which for the smaller outfits is often how it is meant anyway I think.

I logged on last night, saw the usual population stats vanu 36% Tr 28% NC 33% and thought aww hell, wonder if warpgate locked.

Check the map and see TR doing surprisingly well.

You later mentioned 'TR pop boost after getting the North warpgate' did I miss something? TR are south west no?

The only people fighting against TROL are pub zerg players, once TROL turns up the outfits just go elsewhere.
Continue patting yourself on the back for herding pub players to battle other pub players, every zergfit on Briggs has died and TROL is not far from it as people get more bored of "zerg here, ok now zerg there".
  7. theholeyone

Quote wrong post? I'm not Trol, and neither do I think zergfits are the way to go (as I've been saying).

I don't get the '4th factioner' comments about TR. During an Indar Tech Plant alert a week ago we had a number of VS accuse us of this and say we only won because of it. Meanwhile, up until the final 7 or 8 minutes (where it was mathematically impossible for us not to win), we had the lowest world pop and second lowest Indar pop. At that time then yes, suddenly our numbers soared as the fourth factioners switched over, but even then we still only reached #2 in world pop.

Fourth factioners are a problem for whoever is winning towards the end of an alert, but I haven't noticed TR drawing any more than anyone else. I guess it may seem like that since we tend to win more than our fair share these days.

Troll has just gotten too big there really nothing you can do when a faction hot 10% pop over you.

  12. XRIST0

My faction is bigger than yours !

Each faction has their day , flavour of the month right now is definatly VS though .
  13. theholeyone

Funny thing is, apart from pop numbers when logging in, I don't notice any difference tbh.

IKR. Last I checked, TR had the most dedicate players. NC will frequently drop in correlation to VS rises (and vice versa_, but TR seems far more stable. There is a good 80% of the TR who don't ever change sides...the 20-25% of global pop who have stayed with the TR through thick and thin. Not accusing NC and VS of being swappers, but the 4th Faction definitely seems to have made its home with these two. For all the accusations of being OP, the 4th Faction is unusually unwilling to migrate to TR for some reason, but that's another matter for another thread.

Don't worry about people badmouthing Briggs TR. Most players who actually have skill will acknowledge that we hit unusually hard for our size. Yeah, we have some quasi-brainless zergfits full of nubs and 4th Factioneers, but everyone does. Skilled members of non-zergfits (ie. the people who do the clever things that win territory instead of feeding certs to the enemy until numbers take their toll) have a lot more respect for members of other factions. The egos aren't as huge and we all generally look forward to fighting each other. Long story short, if they're slandering you chances are they're a zergling or an armchair general with pretensions of brilliance.

Not targeted at JokeForegrim, he does have a point. But seriously, check who those nubs belong to. Some outfits will accept ANYBODY. Others don't even make it into an outfit. All value judgements aside, as long as there's new blood and we don't end up shafted with 20% or less pop, I'm happy. Nubs will mature into good players given time and guidance.

Here is the footage captured of RavenWulfe Companies defence. The defence starts at around about 23:49. Enjoy guys!

Trouble with Trol is they are known for tking anyone that gets in their way. They never turn inf driving tanks an they just run you down no matter where it is. Some of their members love to deliberately ram magriders flipping them so we lose it.

I had to TK 2 of their harassers last night for doing it to me.
  18. Thagyr

I don't pay the 4th Faction any mind most of the time. The more we are outnumbered, the bigger the payoff for successes as the bonus stacks. I enjoy fighting TROL, mostly because for the past few days their numbers, and the numbers that follow them, are crazy. It gets to the point most stop bothering to pull vehicles and just walk to the next base which fills the landscape with streams of Vanu soldiers on foot. Kinda like watching army ants on the move.
  19. Hitback

If by alive, you mean not filled with skill of any shape or form, then yes Briggs is alive.
  20. TheFullCologne

on the contrary. do you play on briggs? no, so what makes you think that?

it's alive meaning theres always not just good, but amazing fights
