  1. Hammerlock

you have no idea what dark means
  2. Vectore

    Well sh*t xD
  3. Vectore

now that, is the kind of sh*t im talking about, but it suppose to be even darker in the jungle of Hossin xD.

Vehicles would run imbavision 24/7 with next to no drawback, while the peasants wouldn't be able to see **** without paying the ADS penalty. AI farm would get so much easier for the vehicles. Scythes on a pitch black sky approaching completely uncontested.... mmmm. Also dark vanu colors.

Move the IR/NV to the visors so you don't shoot yourself in the foot for having it on your gun and then we can talk about pitch black nights.

    Doesn't work.

They don't have a good enough lighting system for it
  6. cbplayer

I think the ability to shoot out the lights would be nice. Engies can repair it anyway

It used to be super dark and with better tracers. I heard they patched it out for 2 reason.

    1. people *****ed about having to use flashlights.
    2. they lighting used to be dynamic but hurt server performance so they removed it.

It's be nice if defenders could do all kinds of things like this from a base control room, not just black out the base. Also, attackers should be able to do this, but take longer to accomplish.
  9. Crayv

It's one of those things that sound cool but next to impossible to pull off correctly.

Trouble is that if you make it to dark people will just adjust their settings / gamma to bypass it .. Forcing everyone else to do the same or else suffer a greater hindrance ..

Idea's like this are great on paper until you realize how far people will go to circumvent them .. Take smoke for example .. It's pretty much useless due to the ini. tweaking ...

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series had really good night fights. Night vision was a strong necessity, and lights worked both ways (making it easier to shoot but also to be shot).

Battlefield 4 just came out with their free (yea, I don't know what got into EA) DLC called "Night Operations". Pretty much you fight at night.

So if a "mainstream" game like BF4 is giving us darker nights, it should be a safe thing for PS2 to try out!

It was probably more that people could gain an unfair advantage by messing with their gamma settings.
