Betelgeuse is now an AR.

So, with these changes to the Betelgeuse why don't you reclass it as an AR now? Giving it a 40 round before cool down/reloading turns this thing into an AR... I feel like you guys forgot what an LMG is.
Not to mention the other VS directive guns are pretty much useless now. Lowering the bullets to 24 for the AR and Carbine makes them nearly useless. Not to mention the 20 rounds for an smg... I feel like you guys really hate the VS or something. Without the Cold Heart Implant helping with the heat mechanic these weapons how they are now are just bad.

Technically the LMG class in the game is actually a Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW) class, which is kind of a subsection of LMG's. The only weapon you could make a case for to be a non-SAW LMG is ironically the Gauss SAW. A 40 round magazine is totally possible, in fact especially earlier versions used 20 to 40 round magazines. The point of these rifles is that they have heaviers barrels to soak up more heat for extended firefights (which could mean reloading inbetween). Smaller magazines makes for a lighter, easier to handle weapon, especially considering the difference in firing a fully loaded 100 box magazine and when that same box magazine is almost empty.

In-game, the Betelgeuse makes up for its 10 rounds lost with its ammo regen. In extended engagements that arent point blank the ammo regen is a powerful tool as it means you can effectively reload while keeping your weapon ready. Over time during an engagement you can also fire more rounds downrange since you can keep firing when an opportunity rises even during your "reload". This makes it more of an LMG/SAW than its brother the Orion.
Also keep in mind that the Betel currently has less options available than the Orion and still outperforms it solely based on its regen ability. Heat ammo mechanics is a very powerful tool.

24 bullets in the magazine is mostly important when you unload the full magazine in CQC combat. At that point 24 bullets should be enough unless you engage multiple targets. In all other scenario's, the ammo regen more than makes up for the bullets lost. These weapons arent bad, they might feel it for a time since you are used to the old magazine size.

Not sure when you'd ever be going full auto for 50 rounds with an orion.
For every other scenario regenerating ammo gives you vastly more staying power than 10 extra rounds.
Every time you stop firing you are regaining bullets.
Heck you can even shoot off 39 rounds, pocket the betel while you pop domes with commi
then switch back to a fully refreshed 40 round betel.

Honestly it's kinda crazy that betel gets to use attachments now,
it was already vastly outperforming every other LMG in the game.
Only thing crazier than how broken OP betel will be now is that VS are actually complaining about the buff. o_O

Ah well but dont forget that the betel is a meme gun! Its weaker than the Orion and only has these good stats because people pull it to meme against weak enemies!* The Orion is (was?) Far better with its attachment options. Not that the Orion is good! No not at all! Its not as good as its contemporaries on the other factions! Its just that the regular VS player is far more skilled than the dirt playing on the other factions!♤

*this has been an actual, repeated argument from some VS players.
♤again, I wish I was making this up and not rehashing actual arguments used by VS players.
