XP for explosives being detonated by others, more sunderer deploy XP, ammo pack can be thrown anywhere, no more medic tool getting stuck on friendlies while trying to res bodies, options to toggle bloom and best of all improvements to lag compensation! No more GSD bug (hopefully), fixed the bug with deployment options and no more abusing shield render distance! MBT changes are mostly gameplay improvements imo (I've been calling for stabilisation for ages) but I guess we'll see how some of them turn out (velocity/gravity changes etc). Enforcer specialisation is a good thing in theory. And they didn't even go all-in with air nerfs before they'd been thought through and tested properly. Only thing that could have made this patch better would have been Hossin. Keep up the good work SOE (Y). EDIT: Also noted bug fix changes
Also they should add a lattice connection between Ceres Hydro and Ti Alloys. and a lattice connection between Rime Analytics & Apex Genetics for quality of life & strategic reasons.
Quality of life always reminds me of the first qol patch and all the hate it got because of the raise to resource cost fof mbt, flash and max.
would be great to get the Lib sound increase put in with this, ahead of other changes. this is widely regarded as one of the simplest and most important ways to fix the feeling of "being instagibbed." if this helps tank/AA QOL then that's great for pilots, since it should allow more rational adjustments to air when they come. also in regards to the Lib sound adjustment, it would be great if it isn't also extremely loud in the pilot's headset. Lib pilots get jumped by nearly silent enemy Libs even more often than ground players do, because most of the time it sounds just the same as your own Lib sounds until they start firing or appear on the minimap.
As much as I'd love to have more of those awesome infantry charges charges between Ceres Hydroponics and TI Alloys, I don't know that having a lattice triangle between TI, Ceres Hydro and the Crown would work.
it would improve battleflow, and also its been a lattice connection that should have been done a LONG time ago.
I know what you mean because I miss those fights too, but lattice triangles cause issues of their own. Here's an example: NC owns Ceres Hydroponics and the Crown. TR is attempting to assault the Crown from TI Alloys (which they own) to get to Zurvan. Because Ceres Hydroponics is now connected to TI Alloys, NC can send ghostcappers to TI Alloys every 20 seconds to constantly interrupt the fight raging on at the crown, by flipping the A point at TI even while TR owns points on the crown.
so a distraction strategy to divert/distract enemy forces off a base thats being assaulted? Also TR could have easily sent people down to Ceres aswell. So you have to admit it does add strategy and tactical depth to that part of the map.
It's really about time medic and engi abilities had a polish pass. They have never worked as well as they should. I am very happy about this. Tank stabilization and reverse speed tuning very much warrants a gravity nerf, overall it will be a big buff to both fun and effectiveness.
As much as I'm going to enjoy being able to toss my ammo pack and actually force my medigun to revive, I'm really not liking the gravity/velocity changes on the MBT weapons. PS2 MBTs already felt like they were equipped with catapults, now it's going to feel like we've got Peyton Manning sitting in the top hatch throwing the shells by hand. And poor VS is going to get Tony Romo.
The only good thing from this update for tanks is the stabilization. Everything else is (I'm going to be honest) terrible.
Yeah, QOL and Stabilization is nice (5xp per sundy spawn makes me a bit nervous). The tank changes are horrible in almost every way (so bad they even buffed prowler HE velocity ).
