Let's face it, the Referral systems isn't going to go away or be changed just because some people on the Planetside 2 forums dislike it, thats just kind of how it is. But there are still a lot of things in this program that I want to gain access to eventually. I, like many others, have already referred all of my friends, who either couldn't play the game, or have since quit. What would be the best way, for people like me, to refer people to the game?
I'm not exactly optimistic of this cash grab going away either. But I do know I wouldn't want other people asking me to play a game, do some kinda "This person referred me" registration, and know it's really only to benefit the supposed 'friend' and have to pay 10$. But I guess if you want to be that guy and be free advertising for a game most people have already seen and moved on from. I think I'd wanna be paid for advertising rather than get shiny exclusive items.
start make youtube videos and start spamming them everywhere, with a referral link in the descrption. Spam twitter a bunch. uhhh, maybe if you are on any other forums, try that.
Yea, I know, but I am trying to figure out was SOE expects us to do. Do they think we have a bunch of friends with high-end PCs that haven't already checked into a game that came out 6 months ago? I want the stuff in there, but i'm kinda at a loss for what SOE expects me to do.
I would do forums, but most gaming forums have an anti-referral rule, and will literally IP Block you if you try to post a referral link.
who says it has to be a gaming forum. I referred a bunch of people through a car forum long before this game came out, most won't mind as long as it's in the off topic section.
Yeah, most of us are at a loss when it comes to getting anyone into the game at this point. I do find the items in the referral rewards to be pretty well designed, as they should be with today's standards of cosmetic quality. Just not for what they're asking of us.
Well, I guess its worth a try. This is so lame. I wish SOE would just advertise their own game. I don't think I have seen a single PS2 advertisment, ever. But I really want that Recon camo, so I guess this is what its come down to. Time to go find a bunch of random fourms to see if I can find a few people willing to spend money on this game.
This system is for Youtubers with a large enough fanbase to spam, not for your Average Joe. Them and schizophrenics with 25 "friends".

Put a craigs list posting of a hot blonde who wants NSA Nooky in a small abandoned building. Then force each man who shows up to sign up.
No, don't bother This just encourages SOE to continue this greedy behavior, the underlying fact of this referral program is they want more new customers to suckle money from, because they've lost thousands of pre-existing customers. They want new customers instead of fixing the problems that current customers are complaining about. I would never reccomend this game to anyone until SOE starts showing it's customer's more respect.Roadmap is case in point
Write an article... a review a rant why the game kicks *** why they should play Cannot be some half ***** **** though.... Make the reader want to read til the end. Use the WoT addon and don't write on sites with yellow or red flags on em. Waste of time. Don't spam the same article. Use different user names for the article you write. Using a different username, write your referral link into some other users PS2 reviews of major updates. (This will be spam as you say, but don't let people know you are spamming// no one likes a spammer) It doesn't need to be for PS2. There is EQ1/2 and DC Universe and I think another game? I don't know, I don't really play SOE games.
