Dont get me wrong, the other classes have unique abilities that are useful, but in a base defense I would rather have self healing warriors than heavies who have to run 5 miles off their post to the nearest healer because their health took a scratch! Medic: Master class
I can't stand not having a rocket launcher in a game with a heavy emphasis on vehicular combat. In BF3 I always played the engineer and in PS2 I always play HA.
meh, a medic with an engineer and a couple heavies can really lay down the pain. I love playing the medic because it fits my playstyle very well, but it is a huge waste to see 20 medics trying to rez and heal eachother... Time to pull out the cycler and lay down some IRNV love.
I think so, yeah. The bandolier lets you carry a ton of ammo and you can self heal so you have staying power. C4 is better for soloing vehicles than a rocket IMO since once you fire one shot they know where you are and you're pretty much dead unless you're really lucky with the terrain situation. With C4 you can use that surprise first attack to completely demolish them, even if it's harder to pull off, the payout is clearly better for the 'I want to fight everything' minded person. The HA would be more of a team player type (shooting you after a rocket = not shooting the sundy/spawn shed like while the medic hot dogs it and get a tank kill with C4) The medic guns are all so boss that I've actually given up on choosing between them. They work so well as naked guns that I say you may as well just slap utility stuff all over them. They hip fire and recoil control fine, so I went and got the underbarrel launcher weapon for my TR and will probably do the same on NC tonight, the recoil even on NC is fine too so I wouldn't hesitate to throw HV ammo in there and leave it even if I went indoors, it hip fires like a boss so I'll just throw a 4.0x (or 6x if it's available) for long range on it and hip fire indoors. I'm not delusional here. Softpoint ammo with advanced laser sights, or someone with a HA shield up, or getting shot in the head by a sniper will still crush you if you try to brute force an enemy specialist of some kind on their own turf, but if you are the lone wolf or jack-of-all-trades type the medic is the class for you IMO, not the HA.
This is exactly why I love the medic. Burned through 5K certs already, so waiting to get C4 for my medic now.. But as soon as I have it, I have a feeling it's going to be for sure my favorite class. I already love it, just hate getting mowed by tanks and feeling helpless.. But hey, for 700 certs there's an app for that.
HA is the strongest class. All the other classes offer a convenience, like healing and ressing instead of respawning, or ammo packs instead of resupplying. The HA's ability to damage heavy armor and aircraft however isn't just a convenience, he doesn't take something that's perfectly possible but complicated and makes it faster and simpler, he takes something that's impossible for other classes and makes it possible.
Incorrect. I've killed far more vehicles as LA than as HA. Vehicle destruction, ground and air, is not impossible for other classes. Hell, I've even killed a Reaver in flight with my LA by dropping C4 on him and blowing it. Had my entire platoon of about 20 witness this.
C4 doesn't count, when you start spending resources you might as well just pull a vehicle and say it negates the heavies advantage. The reality is, the heavy does something for free that you can't do any other way without paying for it, all the other classes don't.
I absolutely hate having to use doors and walk around stuff. Also the average player is really bad at looking up... so LA is clearly the best
The best class is whatever is best-suited to the situation at hand, controlled by a player who can assess said situation and pick that class, instead of trying to snipe tanks, run engineers and medics solo, play a MAX without support, etc.
Yeah, no... Counting resources, which are free and regenerating: As not being part of a class.. Or limiting to only things that don't cost a single cert.. This is just ridiculous. You're just being stubborn. If that's the case though, never use another grenade again. Don't use any lock-ons at all. Don't buy that resist shield, or use that foregrip or reflex sight. See what I mean? This argument is ridiculous. HA is NOT the exclusive vehicle killer, plain and simple.
Just learn from this.. Never try to strafe run 5 feet above a roof.. Bad, bad, bad idea! I might be waiting for you
Without an Engineer an outfit is without its ammo and mechanized backbone and cant deploy close enough to the enemy or for a long enough time to even start let alone keep up an engagement. Without a Medic the troops cannot survive long enough to keep up the pressure before returning to the Sunderer. Without a Heavy Assault the offense or defense is broken apart as soon as the enemy realizes whats happening. Without an Infiltrator an enemy base is still an enemy base and the difference between a Vanguard pointed at your Sunderer or a reinforcing swarm of Mosquitos can be a keystroke away. Without a Light Assault the enemy is free to smoke a cigarette and patch up their troops behind that building while you are pinned by enemy fire. Without a MAX...you people are seriously not going to bring any firepower to the table at all? We are all very very useful in our own away and no outfit would be complete without any one of us. Light Assault however are the more confusing ones as despite they great utility then someone has the knowledge and willingness to use them(which I can tell you usually results in a killstreak) they are still not a polished as the others. Point being there is no "Best Class" and I role a CM Main. I never go into combat without an Engineer at my back a Heavy Assault at my front and an Infiltrator at my flank.
to suggest there is a single "best" class is absurd. clearly there is an abundance of choices and playstyles which all have their advantages and interact with each other and this generates choice giving us the opportunity for creativity and tactical depth that makes any game great. to obsess which class/weapon/vehicles is "the best" is entirely futile. the whole system is designed to give you freedom rather than to tell you what to do. personally, as a general rule of thumb though i usually just look around for what is missing from the squad i am currently in and fill that role. is there no engi ? the max will go down and people wont have ammo. no medic ? get one to rez and heal stuff... etc. cheers
So when engineers get their anti vehicle turret with infinite ammo on top of anti tank mines... Well I imagine we'll be seeing a new vehicle management king. King of both slaying and repairing mechanized anything only excluding, maybe, air. Mix that in with my battle rifle, which is basically a sniper rifle that drops infantry in 3-4 shots and can be reliably hip fired and resupplied by the engineer... And sticky grenades... Yeah. Only think I can't do is heal myself, if I choose mines.
