Battle Flow System - No Tactic anymore

Incorrect. Tactics and strategy have been removed because SOE are removing objectives. The most blatant example are the SCU generators which NO ONE asked to be removed. Their removal is yet another dumbing down of this game that is seriously depressing me.

I really liked GU9, but with the changes coming, like the Esamir pass, I'm getting depressed for this game again :|

Dunno, are you people done with the insults as well? Sockpuppets etc, braindead, etc, etc, if you can't take it don't dish it out imo, and I stand by the narcissist statement, and the paranoia, it's pretty obvious, just as obvious as the dislike for the lettuce that you people can't see, because you love it and think it's the best thing since ever.

Something wrong with you people, attack everyone with a differnet point of view, and personally attack people who don;t like something that you do, then get all cry baby when it happens to you, suck it up buttercup, you deserve it.

    What evidence?
    1. Server merges came before the lattice
    2. BFRs killed Planetside 1, plain and simple
    3. No one ingame has said anything about the lattice that was not positive
    4. No one has mentioned anything negative about the Lattice in my outfit.

Sorry i didn't see this. Funny how you call PS2 unique, but instead is just BF3 splatter with PS theme. The game is so boring I only play for 10 mins. Cause is nothing, but a mindless shooting for hours end. Capture all bases?. No problem just stand there till your heart's content.
  5. Psyra

What I remember most pre-lattice was those long nights where one team were at a tech plant, with a few people tripping generators while a few other people on the other team would spend 30-60 minutes fixing the same generators and trying fruitlessly to stop them...

Now? It's the same thing, but with a big difference: After only 5 or so minutes of this, suddenly attackers and defenders show up in force to turn it into an -actual- fight. :D

There has been constant changes wince launch, who wants to play a game that's constantly changing, and being hacked etc, and buggy, now there is a lattice to which there is much unhappiness.

And again to number three, there is much unhappiness everywhere regarding issue three, there is chat about it everywhere, you just can't see it because you don't want to maybe, I dunno, not my problem,

All lattices on every continent will lose it's flavour pretty quickly, it's losing flavour already, give it a few more months, and changing where the lines lead will change nothing at all.

    Yes. All 20 of you.

Are you even in an outfit? Have you tried doing something with only a platoon sized outfit at all? Ever? There are no objectives other than the zombie-horde style running at each other shooting and throwing grenades until you die.

Hell, even Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty have multiple modes of gameplay. This game is supposed to be better than that. It's not. It's turned into a complete mind numbing grind. There are giant outfits on Waterson just waiting for someone to open up a front outside of the main zerg to take their 3 platoons into and crush the small outfit and then gloat about how bad they are yadda yadda.

    It's depressing.
  8. Nirallus

In my outfit and on Mattherson in general, the Lattice was hailed as an entirely positive change by everyone I've seen, though I wouldn't argue that that proved anything. Anecdotes are not evidence.

Christ, you people are thick skulled.

Ghost capping is not destroying Planetside 2. It never did. It was annoying and silly, and can be fixed by simply having a base switch back to the original faction in control of the surrounding area. It gave objectives to smaller groups of players who want to avoid the headache inducing shlop that is the zerg-on-zerg crap.

What's destroying Planetside 2 and what's caused so many to leave since it began is lack of objectives or direction.

There is no point to the game right now. In fact, even the smallest points have slowly been removed with the change in cap mechanics, and the removal of the SCU generators. They need to add objectives and stop dumbing the game down.

As it stands now, being forced down these ridiculously contrived 'battle lanes' is so gamey and dumb. If they want Lattice to work, they need to open it up more. Give more options and dissuade true ghost capping (ie: one person capping a random base) by locking it out and allow small squads to duke it out, outside of the bigger boring zergs.

Edit: By 'locking it out' meaning that a point will not cap unless it has a certain amount of people on it, etc etc. It'll FORCE small engagements, and even encourage small outfits/squads to push places elsewhere.

For a few months after launch there was 350 online in my outfit during high traffic days, there are currently over 2k in my outfit atm, high traffic now is generally 100-150, weekdays 50-90 is normal, high traffic scheduled events don't hold the players for nearly as long as they used too, so, in reality, there is much less online traffic isn't there, I for the life of me have no idea why this could be, I know I have a great idea, you'll love it, we'll continue to change the game to be PS1 re-skinned!!! Then they'll all come back!

The game was better when it was a free'er sandbox, with more objectives, and faster style game play, because again, who wants, and who really has the time to sit around for 3 hours assaulting, or defending the same place, and judging by the people leaving, and slower activity of my outfit, then obviously people are leaving and playing less, obviously, I mean it's just common sense, isn't it, I mean it's all pretty clear to see, and right in front of people to see, so the constant changes, dumbing down the game, removing depth to add linear game play, removing ghost capping, removing strats, removing SCU's, I liked the SCU terminals at smaller bases, this game is going down tube land, removing successful elements to add in things that people don't like is beyond, well, I don't even know what to say,
  11. Moises J.Ramos

    I mean PS1 had
Very well designed bases with interior, and tunnels.
    A Sanctuary
    Lattice which drove organized combat
Freedom to choose what you bought to battle, and freedom to choose skills without having to Level up different classes.
Fighting inside the base to hack the terminal, and none of this Battlefield stand, and cap.
    More vehicles
Animations. You know getting out of the vehicle was more realistic.
Bigger world. In PS1 I felt like an ant on the world, on PS2. I feel like I'm just playing one big BF3 map.
Walls, and doors on all bases.
Voice Coms animations?. When you said "Move" your character's hand would show such sign.
Your character was not a super soldier that regained full stamina in 5 secs.

And your calling PS1 inferior, and old?. LOL at you.
  12. Jachim

Not sure if sarcasm or really the point of that post but.. thanks?
  13. Spookydodger

I'm going to have to go with "Troll". When someone asks you earnest questions and you ignore half and reply with gibberish to the other half, really what choice do we have? Oh well, my ignore list was feeling a little barren.

There are two types of PS2 players. Those that liked the RTS aspect of the Hex system, and those that like battle on rails of the lattice.

Neither is wrong, but one group is definitely more intelligent with their responses.

If people have been leaving before the Lattice, then it's not the Lattice's fault people are leaving.
  16. Major

Yea, I quoted the wrong person LOL, I'm very tired, arguing with these thick skulled people who can't see what it right in front of them, because they think they and their ideas are so awesome is very exhausting hahaha.

    Sorry man, hehe
  17. Jachim

It's going to be the lattice's fault I leave, if they add it to all the continents, making each of them just as boring, and then block out combined arms so it's Battlefield 3 inside each base, grinding to the cap point and not being able to use combined arms to help push back an enemy...

Sure, put more cover in the base, make it harder for tanks, but lock them out entirely? Why even have tanks then? For the in-between fights that don't exist because the lattice has you either AT their base or AT your base, never in between for longer than a few minutes... sigh.
  18. Moises J.Ramos

    I lol'd at "RTS" aspect.
  19. Rockstone

Wut? Fights in the open field are more common now.

That being said, I agree that they're adding too much cover to the bases.
  20. Major

From talk that was bugs and a really, really, really big problem was the ever so annoying hackers, a lattice everywhere will drive much of the pop away, it did that before, it will do it again, there is already much unhappiness, it's all right in front for you too see, right there.

So the only obvious solution is hex, and lattice, rotate what continents have them every month or 2 so keep it fun and exciting for both sides of the camp, add the SCU gens back, add more objectives like there were before,, implement the missing mission system, and use Alerts and cont locks to move the server pop around so we don't have barren lands, and people from both camps have to play the other styles sometimes, to keep things fresh, that's my thoughts on the matter anyways, I mean it only makes sense to keep all of your players happy, doesn't it?
