Battle Flow System - No Tactic anymore

Most likely they have not left yet as people who hate the lattice, or get sick of it after a while can go to one of the other 2 continents, implement this on ever continent, I guarantee you that there will be another exodus, just like PS1. Not rocket science, there is constant complaining of it on the fourms, ingame, outfit chat, and voice chat, soooooooooooooo obviously like half of the people don't like it in some form or fashion, so what do you think will happen when it is everywhere, on every continent, really think about it for like 120 seconds, I mean come on, seriously give it some real thought instead of thinking, ooo, I like it, this is great, and because I like it, everyone in PS2 has to like it too, and if they leave the game it's obviously for other reasons, not because they hate the lattice, like they have been saying for days, that just isn't possible, because I like it and it is so awesome.

    Really, think about it.
  2. Major

Yea that's it, the lattice is so awesome that everyone has to like it, because you like it, and you must be like an awesome person or something, if you like something everyone has to like it, so like half the pop of this game is whatever so say bro, you're the man, ****, you're awesome, be you're surround by mirrors just so you can look at yourself all day, you know, because you are so awesome, and if someone doesn't like what you like they are just flat out wrong, because you are so awesome, is this what you are trying to imply to the people who don't like the lattice, because you like it??
  3. Kaktwox

If this is the true direction that this game is going, the complete removal of meaningful teamwork and the dumbing down of everything then I predict that there will be only 2 US servers left in a years time.

except, planetside 1 could shift the lattice around at will.

the hex system is virtually unchanging without a radical redesign of the entire continent. lattice lines can be shifted around at will.

the lattice in ps1 was shifted every few months, with some pretty interesting lore as to why, as did warpgates, and on a few occasions, sanctuaries.

you know how they've been rotating the warpgates in ps2 every few updates? yea, they can do that with the lattice too. don't go thinkin the current lattice lines will always be there. they wont. they'll move, changing the way battles are fought.
  5. Major

Then you and the other lettuce lovers go back to PS1, and let PS2 be PS2, something that was very successful and had massive hype at launch, and now has had massive changes, and server merges, this means people are leaving the game.

Just pointing this out to you.
  6. Moises J.Ramos

Like VOIP problem, generic gameplay, no continent lock, no character customization(Skill, Weapon loadouts) like PS1, badly designed bases, choosing what to become like leveling up engi repair, and medic skill at the same time, and many more.
  7. LynxFury

The irony is some here have actually studied the Art of War and used it for decades while wearing uniforms.
'The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fights"

Of course we shouldn't go in a game, because it's not the best fun. But are probably better ways to encourage a range of battles without completely artificial system that encourages zergs on zergs and adds nothing for smaller units.

I Haven't heard ANYONE complain about it. Other than the forums. Everyone else LOVES it.

The other two continents have NO ONE on them. EVER. Especially now.

No, but it's probably three or four of you guys making 20 accounts and spamming the forums complaining about the best feature that ever came to Planetside 2.

Ghost capping still happens, zergs can still avoid zergs, vehicles still dominate the landscape. Ya'll are crying about nothing.
  10. Van Dax

IDK it seems like between 6-11 territories is quite a lot of choice for 667 soldiers, if anything I'd say tactics matter MORE now than ever before because bases are actually being defended.

Yea, that's it Mr Paranoia, now I know for sure there is something wrong with you, it's not like I have anything better to do with my time, like reading books, collecting comics, digital photography, hiking, mountain biking, beach combing, pubbing, beer drinking, going to concerts, I just sit at home all day surrounded by computers making tons of fake accounts so I can spam SOE about my views on a game I play for fun at the end of the day, or when it's raining, or when I just want to chill out, you know for fun?

And I see complaints all over the fourms, in open chat, in outfit chat, and over voice, even people who like it in some form or fashion grow tired of it after a bit.

    Talk about paranoia.

    1. PS1 was released at a time when MMOs weren't a big thing yet, we didnt even have WoW back then.
    2. The game was too demanding for the average PCs back in 2003 when it launched, also lot of people didn't have adequate enough internet connection to play it without lagging badly (me included)
    3. There was very little advertisement done for the game, I only got into it by luck when I heard a friend talking about it in Tribes 2 with another person.
    4. It's gunplay is horrific, graphics absolutely ******, yet people still played it 9 years after it's release just cause of the gameplay which contained lattice. Most games just die couple of years after release. And it's going F2P so it won't be completely shutdown even 10 years afterwards.
    5. It was a subscription based game meaning you had to pay 12-15$ every month just to play it, that allready cuts massive portion of the teenagers and poor people from playing it cause of lack of credit card/funds.

so please, check your facts before you state bs like that.

Lol at OP. L2P I guess....

And Major, you might as well give up. One, Theres going to be more people ******** on the forums about anything. Why? Cause people come to the forums to *****. This is a proven fact in just about any game. The people that are happy with the systems aren't going to jump on the forum just to fill it up with " I love it" threads, they are too busy enjoying the game. So get over it... Also, forums are always a very very very tiny fraction of over all player base, like 1% kinda size on a game like this.

Two, PS1 did a LOT of things right, but BFR's are the main thing that killed population back then. Till them it was going strong, but also you have to think, time kills most games. I think Eve online is the ONLY MMO that can claim that it will pretty much live forever.

Though I have to say, some of the most fun fights in PS1 have been those super long fights in the same place. I mean 3 hours? really? You people are crying about that? Try a 3-way fight for 3 days... Yes, best fights in PS1 were them 3 bases that were right the **** next to each other, and if each faction owned one, it was going to be a while till one side fell.
  14. Moises J.Ramos

I agree, but continents mean being able to finally lock a continent, and not playing merry go around for 6 more months. @
Madcatgts in PS2 bases fall in 10 mins.
  15. r1stormrider

Major's just trolling. all his arguments of pro-hex are filled with hyperbole and misinformation.

oh and btw, ps2 started losing players for many reasons. my outfit for one suffered many losses in attendance to the hex system. nobody was having fun playing guard dutyside 2 waiting for an enemy to show up. they wouldnt. they just had to go around.

if we found ourselves in a battle, it was finished, then both sides would disperse to the many hexes in the area. rinse repeat. guard duty, stop ghost hacks, find a fight, have fun for 10min, back to guard duty again. who has fun with that? this game lost alot of players because there was no war to be fought. stack that with the other issues it had at the time of course (like aircraft spam).

You may want to fix your quote
    Other than that, I agree.

It's not paranoia. You wouldn't be the first person to be a sockpuppet. Nor the last.

I find it vaguely offensive that, at every turn, you think I'm just randomly spewing words onto the screen. I've asked you multiple times for clarification, additional information, or some greater conjecture than just saying "nuh uh!" and that's it.

I have not seen people complaining in ingame chat. I don't have an outfit to listen to outfit chat, and I haven't heard people talking about it in groups or in proximity. I could say that is because they were busy playing the game, but that is conjecture on my part.

I don't presume that others like it because *I* like it. I have been very careful, on multiple occasions, to say "this is how my friends and I feel" or base my opinions purely on my own direct experiences, not heresay from others.

You make everyone else seem like simpering monkeys when you talk like that. When I debate with people, I look at what specifically they say and say back:

"I understand your concerns. X is still possible, you have to look at the world slightly differently to do it." or "That is indeed true, but the former alternative was Y" or something to these effects.

I have never said that people have been experiencing a collective delusion. I have little doubt that they feel what they are saying is true. It would not be the first time that someone felt something that turned out to be a non-issue when you present the world in a slightly different angle.

You keep bringing up things that would be well made points if there was any evidence to support it. Or others that perhaps could be valid points but the phrasing of the responses is VERY difficult to understand because you write in blocks bordering on run-on sentences.

I truly want to understand what it is that makes you think the way that you do, but you don't seem to see that you aren't doing anything but spinning your wheels.

He has to be a troll. I suppose I'm kind of trolling him back, but. Meh.

This is especially rich coming from someone so hysterical he descends into semi-literate ranting.

Evidence is in PS1's history, evidence is in the already server merges, it's in the fourms, ingame chat, voice chat, teamspeak.

Congradulations at being blind I suppose, good games, good games, good games, when the game goes all lattice I wil play for a few months, until I get bored of it then I will move onto something else and more fun, I may stop by for nostalgia, like I did with PS1 sometimes, and I can guarantee you there will be another exodus in a few months time, because who really has the time to sit around for hours fights at the exact same bases.

Good show tho, you guys did whatever you did to get your way, one that will fail in the end, and you will have a neat little niche game with like 5 servers, at most.
