Balance Pass Post 2: Nanoweave and Related Features

    I wasn't aware that nanoweave also resisted explosives, that's what flak does and flak does it better anyways. I'll still be using nanoweave on my medic and infil.

    The sniper range cap is a complete BS change. Let's look at it this way.
    (1) As range increases, it is EXPONENTIALLY HARDER to pull off those headshots. So if someone actually pulled off a shot like that, then he SHOULD BE rewarded with a kill
    (2) I don't exactly know the infantry render distance here, 300-400m maybe? It means anything sitting beyond this range is not gonna render for the sniper. so WHY cap the range AT ALL?

    Actually it doesnt do anything against headshots... face to face... get it ;)

    But yeah ive been using it since launch as flak and explosion rarely kill me. I agree with you about keeping using it, 5 times out of 10 that damage resistance against small arms will still save you in a 1v1. The other 5 will be instant death to high rof + headshots.

    Standing by these words, I have yet to actually be sniped this patch. I assume it's because 90% of infiltrator players are now trying to sit 500 meters outside of a fight to score sick nasty headshots.

    After the patch I've actually had more trouble with snipers using the sway less close range snipers then the extreme range OHKO as they can keep up a constant stream of bullets from what is still long range.

    They still seem to be trying to encourage close ranged sniping...just now they're not trying to do it by removing long ranged. They plan to fine tune the various rifles towards their designated roles, so expect some occasional tweaks and what not. Right now, there's a bug or stealth nurf implemented into sniping as a whole, one that makes aggressive infiltration a bit more difficult.

    The sensitivity upon scoping in changes, throws the more aggressive infiltrators completely off.

    Just getting a chance to try the new GU. I assume it's just me, since I don't see numerous threads...

    I'm getting noticeable delays with hit registration. Maybe .5 second vs. pre-patch. The actual hits don't seem to be delayed - just me getting the red X visual.

    Also getting weird things like when I fire a Phoenix, the rocket dumb-flies about 25 meters in 3rd person view, before it lets me take control in 1st.

    Yeah, noticed this today when dumb-firing the Hawk.
    Aimed, fired, thought I'd missed, started reloading, THEN got the red circle and hit sound.
    Latency much? o_O
