Balance Pass Post 1: Vehicle Weapons and the Harasser

    Little bit skeptical about how this range 'nerf' will play out with Vulcan Harasser vs AV Harasser, isn't this a slight buff for the Vulcan-H?

    There might be little sacrifice on a lightning (I can't remember what else goes in that slot) but for a MBT you are sacrificing your ES ability and on a sunderer you are sacrificing things like AMS and gate shield diffuser. I think that currently provides genuine choices for people depending on what loadout they are trying to achieve and I'm not convinced this change will provide diversity.

    I can't argue with that and I'm not saying I support the change but just really what SOE might be trying to achieve .. Granted what they want to achieve might be wrong :p

    The key word here is coordinated. We’re not giving tanks a free pass, just better tools and options.



    I think this is very important.. But when people don't get coordinated (which IS OFTEN THE CASE), the nerf thread infection starts.. ALL OVER AGAIN...

    The Kobalt is actually surprisingly effective against Harassers. IIRC it is more effective than the Basilisk whilst being more accurate, although I have only seen the tests performed by other players.

    Well considering how vague their description of the upcoming changes is, I think it is a bit early. For all we know they might also change the Vulcan in the same way as the other options are being changed to limit their ranged potential. If not, then I might actually start using it again, as currently I find the Halberd superior. They might also buff the other options short-range potential, who knows?

    No. Just no.

    If they remove repair on the move, they don't need to lower any armor or change any weapons. That change alone (no switching seats to repair while driving) would make the Harasser much more balanced. If the Harasser needs to repair like the other vehicles, its current health and armor are just fine, and the weapons are too.

    Please tell me your ingame name, mr expert. Because if you're the Deadlamb on the players site, you really don't have a clue. With less than 200 kills in MBT & Lightning combined, one really shouldn't pretend to know how to balance Harassers against them.

    This is another nerf to magriders.
    It may be obvious to SOE that super lockdown dps mode and invulnerability shield are superior to proxy radar, unfortunately magburner is far from superior or preffered when compared to radar.
    For prowler and vanguard drivers there was a legitimate choice to be made between their ES ability and radar, for magriders there was only one choice and that was radar (I know a bunch of scrub magrider drivers will jump in and shout how op magburner is but you are wrong and there have been countless threads over the past year explaining why).

    Previously the underwhelming nature of the magburner was offset by the fact that we could equip the radar, an extremely useful ability. But now Vanguards and Prowlers can equip both thier ES ability as well as radar.

    TLDR: Enabling people to equip thier ES abilities as well as radar will highlight how underwhelming magburner is.

    The magrider is a great tank none of you know how to use it. The ZOE needs to be beaten with the nerf bat hard.

    Thats an interesting idea, but have you thought about how it will impact Sunderers in generell? If this change happens that way for Sunderers too we will see the option of having Radar + AMS on one Vehicle. Sure it doesnt get Mineguard or Composite, but if manned it can see every infantry aproaching, so blowing it up gets realy hard. In addition to that the possible Utility Slot would be reduced to AMS and Fire Supression(wich is rarele used), since Shield Gate Diffuser is very special and Smoke Screen is simply crappy since its way less powerfull then the tank version.

    I have some problems with this as others have dicussed.
    So you're moving proximity radar over to defence because it's the much prefered option to the others. This doesn't solve the problem infact all you're doing is moving around the problem, you're not fixing it at all and basically making another option non viable. through these changes using a skyguard I will not be using the radar at all because I need to use other options that are much more useful and the other two utilities isn't something I need at all. You're not enhancing our playstyle you're restricting it, you should do as some have said and place it into defence and ultility or leave it as is.
    If you go ahead with with this then I also would want my certs refunded.

    Lets see. Vanguard beating the Magrider 9 out of 10, everything is fine, Vanu needs to ltp. ZOE MAX beating the NC MAX 9 out of 10 (if caught outside), it needs to be beaten hard with the nerf stick! Obviously. Right?

    This is how it should be. The magrider is for hit and run not brawling. I never attempt to take on a vanguard head on (unless it is already smoking). Best to just take it down slowly, dancing around with the magburner and running away to cover where required.

    The Mag-rider is a great tank for flanking, you should not try to do a slug match with a vanguard as its made to take abuse, you are able to go places the vanguard/prowler can't and your tank drivers need to learn to use that but they won't. A deployed prowler will beat my vanguard as you like to say 9 out of 10 times if its deployed. A magrider will beat my vanguard if it does what its made to do. The VS not using what their tank is good at is not the vanguards or prowlers fault. Also my tank can't strafe.
