Balance Pass Post 1: Vehicle Weapons and the Harasser

    One never can when they try, can they?

    One thing that really gets them is tree roots. Almost always trees and tree roots. Great for killing off pursuing Vulcan harassers though. They're never good at dodging and weaving because they never need to with their OPness.

    I don't consider making nearly every infantry weapon that isn't a shotgun useless to be a favor.

    Just buff the other Harasser AI weapons to match the Marauder.

    I'm sorry, but the Marauder is good because it levels infantry. We need more weapons that level mass amounts of infantry, because currently infantry is the best thing in the bloody game. If you want to make the game A.) Combined arms, B.) Strategic, C.) expand tactics... you have to have an effective way to disperse infantry. After the HE nerf there is none, so just expand the bloody AI Harasser weapons and make harassers weak against tanks.

    There is little mid-range gunplay because :
    1) it's not effective with pretty much any weapon outside of sniper rifle. They aren't effective at long range either. Changing how sniper work ain't going to change that most weapon are not effective at longer range.
    2) There is no reason to fight at mid/longer range since the game isn't build around it. Death is never an issue. Numbers is what matter. Those matter on the points.

    Even IF (we don't know yet) they slightly increase the effective range of sniper, it wouldn't have any impact on the current battlefield because there is no such thing as mid and long range infantry battle.

    The only longer range battle you will see are infantry/Vehicule vs Vehicule. Infantry battle are more often than not at point blank.

    Are you joking? Do you have any idea how fast (and regularly?) the guy in the third seat dies? We'd spend more time driving to the nearest spawn point to pick him up than we would pulling a new Harasser the few times he isn't around to save our ***. Plus, then he can do something more productive than play with his dick and repair tool.

    I hope they don't. I didn't get certs back when I bought 1k cert weapons that get reduced to 250-500 much less spending real money on weapons that have done this as well. Why should you get certs back for changes they make on the harasser. The answer you should live with it like others have to.

    so harrasers can still repair on the move..... hrmm ok be back when its actually balanced... either give the ability to ALL vehicles or take it away from the only one that can. till thats done ps2 just takin up space on my HD

    Marauder is awesome but I rarely get to use it. As said its the others that are to be brought up to the same level. People should be able to see kobalt, bulldog etc as good alternatives to marauder.

    Yeah it only works on the Harasser due to the nature and role of the vehical.
    A tank would still be able to fire with a "3rd" seat option to jump to, unlike the Harasser.. A permanent 3rd seat "repair monkey" like option would allow them to lay down full 2/2 tank fire power, while being repaired. That's massive over kill.

    No it works on the Harasser being in most cases it's a 2/3 crew and it's fire OR repair.. If you get really lucky and can find a full time repair monkey for the back it's still 3 people jammed into a vehical with only 1 gun.. Only one of them getting full XP, the other two getting nothing from assists and the poor gun in the back only gaining +6xp +10xp here or there off repairs.

    plus as many Harasser crews have said a bunch of times now. Repair on the move is a fun team work based thing but it's not gaining one as much as those who hate (but don't run Harassers) seem to think it does.. It's not some sort of tinfoil hat like conspiracy going on as we all band together to lie about what happens as we drive around.. It lets ya get back into the fight a few seconds sooner and maybe get to cover from an ESF but that's about it..

    plays very little role in tank fights and lightning are so outmatched by the Harasser being a muti-team vehicle that most of the time you don't even need to bother to run, never mind repair when fighting one..

    no thats just lies.. i've seen and watched harrasers with a maxed out repair guy in the back before it can be shot a second time with a tank its fully healed... how is that even remotely balanced. one person thats maxed a repair tool can out repair a TANK stupid descisions like allowing the harraser to go so long as OP as it was, allowing blatant bugs to remain for weeks for "sales" releasing blatant op weapons then nerfing them after sales go down... zero strategy to fights just zerg here and there... those are the reasons you see the ps2 community dwindle, and will be the ultimate cause of the games demise. this so called operation make faster game... its been what... a year now... with no real content added, only content taken away. going on 2 months now waiting on optimizations... what ps2 needs, and would benefit from, a house clearing... like almost every other f2p game out there, the current team has failed... clean house start over, the people you have working now are not doing the job.

    Higby has said the won't remove it, the most they may do is tone it down a bit, so it's going to have to be other things to balance it. :(

    I have a suggestion: Since the Halberd has reached a saturation point, i think its time to completely change it. Make it a crowd control water cannon or something. Also, introduce a new weapon that's pretty much identical to the old halberd and charge an arm and a leg for it? This would totally fit the mythos & culture of the game, don't you think?

    How about they just buff flak to resist 1HK from a UBGL hit?

    Anything to get people off Nanoweave!

    This is what troubles me the most...up until now as a Repair Bus driver I really didn't care what slots the Proximity Repair and Proximity Radar came from...so long as they didn't come from the same slot. I have them both maxed out and run them 99% of time side by side so I`m a bit biased. Don't get me wrong Proximity Radar belongs in the Defense slot it makes sense but Proximity Repair does not repair your Sunderer so it really doesn't belong in the Defense slot alongside Auto Repair. Proximity Repair is a utility that services others...far as that goes so is handing out Ammo.
