The KDR that Sky posted really isn't that insane/far-fetched if you know what you're doing. I just put up these stats earlier in a decked out Lightning (HEAT shells, NV optics) with minimal effort: The majority of those kills occurred in a 25-30 minute time-span. I spent the rest of the time gunning in the third seat of a Liberator to keep bogeys off our six and hauling guys around in a Sunderer, so I didn't even get as many kills or as much experience as I probably should have had I kept it up with the Lightning. If you know how to aim your shots carefully and not over-commit so that you aren't surrounded by Heavies, Light Assaults with C4, and enemy armor, you can pull off ridiculous kill streaks in armor. On foot it's a little tougher because you can't get away so quickly and repair and re-stock on ammo. Of course if you have a great group of teammates with you, however, you can still rock and roll if you flank the enemy and, once again, don't over-commit. I think the most common mistake players make in this game is attacking head-on and driving in too far rather than taking a careful, strategic approach. I very rarely take the main road when attacking, for example, and always pick out a base that I'm going to flee to if I need more ammo or just need to get back for repairs. I don't often hit a base by myself, either, because one tank is a sitting duck for a well-defended base. I usually like to have at least several other tanks and a squad or two attacking a base before I decide to approach and start attacking it. I've never liked KDR stat-tracking myself. Never have and probably never will. I think for games that revolve around Deathmatch, it's alright because KDR is all that matters for the most part. In titles like this, however, it's fairly insignificant especially given the scale of each continent and the way in which playing one way (flying or driving a tank) can often result in a much better KDR than running around on foot just because you're so vulnerable. Heck, I've always felt that way about the Battlefield series as well in which pilots and tankers have a huge advantage over infantry on the KDR side of things.
KD is a pretty horrid stat to keep track of in a game that's supposed to be about teamplay. Seriously, is that guy that never does anything but sit in a spawn room, or snipe from 600m away and gets a KD of 10.0 supposed to be better, or more of an asset for his team than the guy who repeatedly dies trying to help his team, and ends up with a kd of 1.0 or lower? I average 1.19 myself. I can get a KD of around 4-6 if I just sit back and snipe, but I usually do what I feel needs to be done, whether that's repeatedly dying as an engie trying to keep a sundie alive, or flanking as a CQC infil to distract the enemy. I'd generally rather die and do something useful than live and be useless. The only thing keeping track of KD does from my experience is promote camping. Was attacking a Biolab the other day with a pretty large zerg with most of our guys in maxes, yet only one or two people were willing to actually leave the teleport room, despite the fact that we could have stomped them had everyone gone out. That kind of behavior, while not at all completely caused by keeping track of KD, is definitely promoted by it.
K/D ratio does matter....Depending on what you do. If you have amazing k/d ratio but all you do is use aircraft/Tanks while zerging with your outfit....I don't really give a damn to be honest. If you have an amazing k/d ratio and all you do is infantry and score a lot per minute....then I think that means you are a good player.
Uh, for every person who gets a kill, a person dies. Suicides just take from the overall pool, so it has to be lower than 1. Also vehicles give a kill to weapon "kill" counts, I dunno if they count as an actual kill as far as kdr goes though.
Depends on class, playstyle, vehicle usage (How much you paid to win). In general it seems a lot of people have a round 1 K/D. Edit* ******* Necro I hate how forums just resurrect a ******* thread if 1 guy posted in it. Stupid stuff for a stupid game.
I would say the average is 0.8 I would also say that a good KD (if one was to look at nothing but the KD, which I think is silly BUT...) would in my opinion be 2+ IF and ONLY if you play infantry 90% of the time, if you're in a tank or the air I would say 4-5 would be good. I play infantry nearly all the time and average a 2.7 KD nearly 2.8. I see my KD as above par, but that might be me simply patting my self on the back lol.
KD matter if you'r full infantry. i try to go full infantry but these dam shotgun wielding/tank/air has to make me pull a max here and there.
You can see all the broken down stats now anyway, most of the time those people who say stuff like vehicle ****** cant do infantry...have **** scores as infantry themselves...love it.
I could care less about someone's K/D. Give me a stat that shows how much assistance you've lent to a base defense, then I'll be impressed.
Blood alcohol level and my level of hatred for every other player are the only stats I pay attention to. (but okay, 2.7 on my NC which is my newest char so I knew the game better to start with and just sniped with bolt action to farm or used the absurd MAX unit, 2.5 on my TR, 2.1 on my VS(first character so I got farmed hard on it early on as a noob). Personally wish the stat was removed so people would play for objectives, as well as just screw around more and have fun rather than worrying about dying. Also less people would use vehicles, I know when my K/D is looking down I become strangely attracted to MBTs even though I find them boring as hell normally.
Firstly at your first man u can't do 2.kdr at start but when u start to tactic gameplay u can do it easily u must have tactics to do Big kdrs let me explain. When I start my kd was 0.5 But now my kd 3.0 at same man.But If u want 20kdr u must use vehiceles N planes good beacuse u can't hold 20kdr at some wars I do 50kdr but at some wars I do 0.5 .The Thing is u can have best reflex In the world U can have best tactics in the game but If u dont have luck u cant do a shep Good Games
