I am curious about one thing after watching this "Video", except for about 30 seconds of you getting shot maybe once in a lightning, how is it you are able to run up to every single pack of infantry, fire at will, and not have one single enemy shoot back at you? I'm a decent player, and every battle I'm in I fire on, and am fired at.. This has to be the funniest gameplay video I've ever seen, even years of competing in TWL, people tend to shoot back...LOL It's not like you are doing anything differant than anybody else, your shots are all close range, they are standing still, some within 10 meters, and they don't shoot back or even look your way..........LOL An average of 121 or more kills an hour? Nobody I have talked to since alpha has seen that many enemies every hour they are on, consistently....seriously dude, thanks for the laugh
Eh.. K/D is a poor measure because it doesn't account for things like playing support, or being a driver/pilot on crewed vehicles and the like.
Class dependent too, as a Medic mine rarely goes over 4 however I tend to keep a 2.5-3.5KD ratio at all times.
Mine was 4 to 1 last I checked and I use /suicide to travel quickly at least once every 20 minutes. Always light assault or engineer (in various vehicles).
Most of the suspect players claim the boards are broken, this is wrong, they just havent been updated, but the numbers as they stand are accurate....... I'm still laughing at Exiles brag fest video, seriously, why does not one enemy shoot back or even look at him? Thanks sky, now I know why I get killed by some myseterious random bullet from some invisable enemy
Haha, SKYeXile, seen you around on Briggs a few times in Crown battles Really starting to love our back and forth push in the maps center on Indar. Anyway, On the subject of the OP, as someone pointed out before, depending on play style, and mode of play they can differ greatly. I like to Heavy Tank and Heavy assault get in amongst the action, but then again I may for hours just support, healing and repairing, moving a deployed Sunderer / Ammo-box around for the tank column. My K/D is around 1.8 - 2.0 overall playtime, but if you take out my bad start at launch I might average around 3 to 4. While it's by no means good, I'm just happy if it stays above 1, means I'm in front of my deaths Oh, and also try not to put much stock in Leaderboards for now, they are severely broke. (Example : I have played PS2 with a mate since launch, we duo around in tanks and assaults everywhere together, I know his K/D, although the LDRboard claims it's 185.01, when in actuality it is 2.1. The kills are correct I "Think", but the recorded deaths are WAY under what they should be, seen it on others as well.) Although it will be good to play spot the aimbot when they are fixed haha PS - See you Briggs people at the Crown later!
vs out number everyone else nuff said, do the same with another faction and i will be impressed, no not really but you will prove a point at least.
Average K/D is meaningless, I can probably beat 20k xp an hour as a medic in a big fight. To get a good K/D you basically farm, you find spawns or isolated areas and you punish the people who keep coming. Yes you can be really good at shooting and that'll help it along, but the really high K/D numbers are all vehicles/libs/MAX spamming and spawn camping. At the start of the game my K/D went down to 0.7, I was constantly playing with my outfit and coordinating rushes of heavily defended positions and defending/supporting were priorities. Now that I've had more time to play on my own I can abuse easy kills with the best of them, in the right place at the right time with the right number of enemies I can average 10:1 on foot in a biolab but that's very rarely useful. I spent a good 20 minutes today and racked up 66:0 as a MAX standing in a building across from a tech plant spawn with a pocket engi or two, was I useful? No. We never capped that tech plant and I got bored. If it wasn't some silly time of the morning and I'd had my outfit to back me up, we could have all gone light assault and grenade rushed the balcony, a couple more rushes and we'd have gutted the top floor and let the zerg get in unmolested, does rushing headlong into a fortified position with 20 other people at once net you a good K/D? No. Does it net you positions, good xp, and resources? Yes. Basically the more selfishly you play the higher your K/D goes, the more you actually play the objective and support others doing the same and take risks to complete those objectives, the more your K/D will be proportionally pulled down.
I picked VS because they were the least populated, not my fault the bandwagoners came as they inevitably always do to my coattail.(maybe it is my fault)
So you only kill 121 stupid people per hour that don't shoot back, and you see that many people 24/7 by flanking them, because they are stupid..well Mr. exile, I said earlier I will reserve judgement, it is now reserved... BTW, why no recoil? Thanks again bro for proving every point I was trying to make... I'm done on these boards, babye..
I agree, especially camping Tech / Bio facilities in a tank siege, firing up into that main room. Fix your K/D up good with HE rounds and a p1mped out tank haha. Gets boring fast though. BTW SKY, is there someone else with a similar name to you? SWORE you were in an NC lightning at the Crown and not on Vanu :\ PS : I only really play on Indar now, Amerish is dead all the time although I love that continent, and I hate the snow....you Vanu can have that hole
well i was vs but joined a good bunch of people ( outsourced shameless plug ) and we have only run across you maybe 2 times so i hope we see you for longer than we have.
pfft, maybe it's just me but call me unimpressed. After watching Cypher at Quakecon, you using the term god is laughable.
In a game with Hacks/aimbots etc KD is only a measure for personal interest, it doesn't mean much across the greater community
