I usually play infiltrator but during a heated battle where there were many dead bodies outside a spawn room I tried playing medic and love it! I leave no one behind, last night it took 4 grenades and a reaching rez to get ONE soldier back to the spawn room alive. If felt awesome!
Happened yesterday again, the guy happy blasting for a second time the 2 guys my revive nade brought back up in front of him. He was reloading while I was pistol/knifing him. Tagging the 2 zombies made him oblivious to me jumping behind him from a window 1 floor above his targets. lol.
Righte-o.. First.. When I'm being rezzed.. if the rez has me in an open fire zone, frequently its very near a corner or doorway.. so if I don't make it on the first try, I will eventually.. and I have zero problem feeding the medic 3-4 rezzes of XP. That is gravy for him.. Second, accepting is voluntary. If I am medic, I rez everyone I can, and they can decide what is up with their situation. That is why no rez is bad.. its not all the medic's choice. They are providing an opportunity.. nothing more.
Except I'm not playing to deny you kills.. I'm playing to: 1) get XP from the rez. 2) have my team take ground If you get extra XP or padded stats from that, I couldn't care less. You can't prevent the enemy from getting XP and improving.. there are too many sources to get XP from.. so having that as a goal is a guaranteed fail 100% of the time.
You think my reason was to deny xp? I was saying that a bad revive is when someone has absolutely no chance to do anything and they die. I see it all the time and I kill them all the time. There is a simple trick to not get instagibed when you revive in a bad spot though.
Bad revives certainly do exist. If run out in a field to pick someone up, the guy stands up and a tank kills both of you. That is a terrible revive. Who cares if you get 75 XP. Your medic is needed elsewhere with the rest of the group. Not reviving a guy in the middle of the field.
Never understood why people care about k/d. the point of a game is for FUN, not bragging rights. I've never cared about my k/d and I can honestly say It's much more rewarding than a good k/d.
There are no bad revives Only bad players who get revived They absorb bullets for you once they are done giving you certs.
I was never really sold on the point of clearing enemies FIRST and after that reviving. I've been in many smaler fights where I clung to a cover just 2-3 meters from enemies, pulled out my medigun, quickly revived 2-3 of my friendlies that were killed just seconds ago, they accept and we proceed to clean the entire compound and territory. For an average guy playing fully or nearly-fully certed medic, killing 2-3 guys rambo style is doable, but you're always running that risk that you'll die by that last guy you're shooting at. It's never 100% - sometimes it's better to clean first then revive, sometimes it's vice versa. Good judgement comes from experience.
I love running out in the middle of a firefight to revive one guy. It isn't an experience thing, it's more of a "One more guy to help keep the fight going" thing. I once ran downhill to revive a HA who was killed by a large force of approaching VS infantry. I brought him back to full health, and we retreated back uphill and into cover. Only a squad of us (NC) were still alive, and we defended the hill after waves and waves of infantry, only to be killed off by a liberator. Good times.
I am more of a necromancer than medic. I raise meat puppets to shield my delicate self and go to town with the Gauss Rifle.
If we ever team up, I think we'd make an awesome duo. Once a Medic, always a Medic! Medics to the end!
For the work of a Combat Medic in Planetside never ends. The words " Courage " should be an available decal that is earned via reviving 500 people while taking damage. Or something. Anything to show dedication to those who put themselves in the line of fire, not to attain glory, but the lives of friends, and the satisfaction of them saying... I knew you'd come.
we should also get bonus xp if someone we revived gets a kill within a certain time after we've rez them, like if they still count as a spawn kill but get a kill instead we get partial credit for putting them in the position to make that kill possible, that way medics get rewarded extra for smart rez's in the thick of battle.
Should the other ones care for dead folks. I take CM for self-heal-ability, CM is the "true" infantry-soldier-class.
