[Suggestion] Artillery Implant

    When equipped it would show on the minimap where the round you fired has landed. Everyone in squad would receive this information.

    It would allow:
    a)Using Bulldog and Fury as an artillery. It would allow the Sunderer to suppress positions from which enemies are shooting friendly infantry. It would make the Sundy true IFV.

    b)Coordinating HE Lightnings to suppress one of the routes leading to control point. HE got nerfed so currently more than one Lightning is needed for adequate suppression. Artillery implant would allow for easier coordination between tankers.

    This is something new...
    When I first read the word "Artillery" in the title I was going to leave it to die...
    But then something made me take a closer look...was it destiny?(no I don't think so)
    Seriously, this sounds like a good idea but the devs don't seem interrested in the artillery concept in the first place...

    Yes, or if people have a problem with it, maybe some kind of attachment for the Bulldog/Fury?

    Then again, this would take some of the swag factor away whenever you shoot over a building and randomly get a triple kill. :cool:

    Dying to something you can't do anything about is annoying.
    Dying to something you can't do anything about AND CAN'T EVEN SEE is insufferable.
    When people suggesting artillery over and over will ******* realize this?
    BTW, because of these same concerns Carey said they have "no plans to add artillery". Which is another way of saying "we're not doing it any time soon so stop asking already".

    Enjoy your fire-rain from nowhere. Cool. This game don't need threats coming from somewhere you can't see. It will be even worse than AV turrets shooting from behind the render distance.

    I understand. You see this "Coordinating HE Lightnings to suppress one of the routes leading to control point." as something interesting and new. But in terms of Planetside 2 (and we all know it) it will be exploited, spammed and used at it's worst possible way. It will be just a bunch of super-accurate HE-bombing from behind the wall. Just no. It CAN be fun, but WON'T be, because of people who know how to spam things without being punished for that.

    Plenty of counters for farming tanks. Libs chiefly take that role, being the ultimate vehicle for destroying ground units with no AA capabilities (like bulldogs, furies and HE cannons).
    Hell, there are so many easy counters for tanks of any sort that it's a wonder you're trying to use this as an argument.

    One more thing - all this implant will do is reduce the number of shots you need to take to find your ideal elevation for hitting a target.

    I'd much rather see the Light-Assault get a Tool slot in the form of a Pointing Laser that just tells every allied Artillery vehicle in area where to aim in order to hit the point. ...I believe Tribes2 actually had this for its Jugger Mortars and it's based on something our real Military has also used to guide Missile strikes

    So the point is to use arcs to shoot behind cover? What weapon besides bulldog has enough arc for this to be useful? o_O I would like an implant that shows on the ground were a shot will land. Making easier to shoot bulldog and the like. :3
