Are MAXs ever going to get any love?

    I'd personally just love to see some actual utility and customization for the class <_< currently you have one decision: Do you want regeneration, Flak armor or bullet resistance, the rest is a straight line of upgrades with no options for deviations.

    TR 'had' a very decent AI weapon.. the MCR3 Mercy gun, was very accurate and gave TR maxes some MUCH needed utility... Log on last night to trail some other chainguns vs the M3.... the latest patch freaking nerfed its accuracy.. It used to have nearly Carv accuracy.. Now its similair to the default M1 chaingun... My only reason for playing AI max got nerfed :(

    People have been asking for Max buffing since I joined the beta in early september.. Maxes for all factions need a buff, I dont want a walking tank even though its how SOE describes them.. but Yes ALOT more survivability is needed

    @ braken : Hello my friend , so long since the beta and nothing changed about us ... Ive actually the chance to be one of the top squad leader in FRC (miller) wich is a 390 member french outfit , and my specialised squad is about maxes .. ive tryed to make the max at it's best ... and we (12 bersekers) use it at its full potential regarding positioning , and much more , ill be pleased to be with you on miller one day so we can show you up how we play maxes .

    BUT . Even with teamplay , there is on the boards a lot of semi-scientists dudes who insert some " maxes dont need to be bulletproof " with a lot of fallacious arguments because they just **** on maxes players and that are too lazy to switch class/weapon to kill a max .
    I am with you about MAX BUFF to a scale where they would match ps1 maxes to actually have some power on the battlefield:
    -100% anti infantry immunity
    -limited turn rate
    -weak to explosives
    -NC,TR,VS direct buff , IE: GIVE THE DAMN PS1 ABILITIES BACK

    Others that arent ps1 veterans , please , just dont talk about maxes because of your ignorance about bulletproof maxes , your arguments against them are totally useless because they are here to help your lazyness( IE : push a button to switch weapon)

    @Devs : now that i have overlooked the max , and that our max company is up , we can tell you that the PS2 max sucks big time , it is time to do your job as you had the time to do it since ALPHA (YES WE ALL KNOW THAT MAX REMAINS NEARLY UNTOUCHED SINCE ALPHA :p )

    PS: for those who talks about 80% small arms fire resist already on the max , sir , you guys are total noobs and arent aware that maxes are giant health buffers , and you can see the maxes die faster and faster every time a new weapon is introduced in the shop , please dudes , stop being rubbish comments , we will all thank you for that.

    I began to like NC:s max Semi-auto shotgun and burster in other hand. Mid range supressive fire with semi-auto shotgun is rather nice if there are multiple enemies.

    And yes - MAX seems to be major target for all.

    Anybody noticed that NC:s MAX shotgun also worked on thin skinned airplanes?

    Practically any weapon deals damage (a decent amount, too) to ESFs.

    The burster is far from ideal for anti-infantry engagements. It's horribly inaccurate, and if it does hit, it does horribly pathetic damage (lower than any other infantry weapon, actually.).

    Yes, MAX's seem extremely half-implemented, I was stunned when Higby said Light Assaults needed more attention. You can't even repair yourself during downtime or in a safe area, unlike literally any other role in the game. The cert page is just feels empty! And ALL of the weapons are maximum priced, what's the deal with that? Would love some optics and options for my weapons, the NC max is the only one that has slugs to alter his play style.

    I play NC on Waterson. I have an NC max with 1 arm Scatter and 1 arm hacksaw (waiting for friday to match) and for a whopping 100 infantry resources, im practically guaranteed to get at least 3 kills before I die, and thats if I'm bad.

    In PS2 Maxes arent Vehicles. They are just stronger infantry. They are in a great place right now, being that they rofl stomp enemy infantry, but they arent tanks that walk around in buildings.

    And to anyone who says Maxes havent changed since alpha: You obviously didn't play in the beta.

    Who cares , when i get my lasher+deci i can garanthee 70 kills before dying , everyone has a point of view , this tread doest talk about skill of each other but about implementing a gameplay that was good fun and accessible to all player in PS1 , actually , maxes arent open to the community because of teamplay issues , and while you get the opportunity to teamplay , the max doesnt match expectancy.

    Solvite , you can do researches on people , instead of do statements , please check personnal profiles , thanks .
    Yes they have changed , 5% health and debugg of movements for nc/vs maxes , disapearance of empire specific perks , nerfs on AA and more nerfs ...

    Yes maxes have changed since alpha : they have dumped flamethrower , factionnal ident ... now they are in alpha without the empire favlor .

    BUT no they havent changed : they are the same crap than alpha because they arent yet consideered . a proof on that is that every max suit visual change is now a convertion of the empire specific abilites :
    -vs have a jetpack but cant use it
    -nc have a shield displacer but cant use it
    -TR have ammo chargers/grappling boots but cant use them

    wtf with evidence with such statement as yours ? please review your thinking and help us getting the max where it deserve !

    Pretty much the MAX as is, is worthless in close combat fighting as they die way to fast to just small arms fire. They need to increase the defense at least 3 fold since these have a very long re-spawn timer in place and the MAX cannot capture a base. On a HA I can kill more players in a battle then in a MAX during close combat. However I do not have a 10 minute plus timer on my HA. Get a clue SoE and up the defense of these pigs already.

    Shotgun for infantry and burster for air. I havent seen any large batles without airforce.

    MAX imho is supportive troop not major player and always should be with infantry and grounds which has good cover. Although I bought today second burster for AA. Also Skyguard. AA mode I use double burster and base mode twin shotguns and mix between those situations. Perhaps I change my mind eventually but atleast I try.

    That's because the NC max with splat cannons is the only one that's marginally functional. Try being VS or TR, where you can't just blat any infantry that crosses your path. Yes, I get in a dual splat max and I wreck face (I wreck EPIC amounts of face, it's night and day here), I can wreck face with my dual cosmos VS max too, it just requires infantry to be ******* running in straight lines at just exactly the right place for the guns to "converge". Why do I say straight lines? Because well over half of your shots will A: flat out miss or B: hit but not register due to lag. The accuracy on them is so terribad that it's like if you took a splat cannon and had it shoot one pellet at a time, in totally random directions, in slow-motion. Cosmos are actually the most accurate VS AI weapons to boot. I pity the poor sods who didn't bother to check the stats and got blueshifts based on it's misleading description text.

    Don't even talk to me about "sustained firing" or any similar crap. With splat you pop out, blow your load, kill 3-4 dudes and then step back behind cover to reload. The others... well, you step out and sidestep a lot, spray a lot of bullets... and fall over a bullet riddled heap of twisted **** on the floor calling angrily on TS/Vent for a medic and engy while having killed maybe one guy... maybe.

    Splat cannons also tear other maxes to pieces, same M.O. And this all happens where the other maxes can't use their (existing, yet laughable) "range advantage", in the only places that REALLY matter, indoor cap areas. Heck, even the outside cap areas generally have some form of cover for my splat max to get behind, reload and wait for the enemy to come into it's web of death, because they HAVE TO to capture the point.
