[BUG] ? Anyone have any leads on why the H-V45 is missing a 2x reflex?

Did a quick forum search for this and surprisingly found nothing, though I'd be quite surprised if there was no mention of this.

I trialled the H-V45 a week or so ago, bought it pretty much instantly and have been using it quite alot since then, as, well it's pretty freaking awesome and feels great. I noticed early on that it lacked a 2x reflex, which to me seemed to be the clear ideal optics for this weapon. I thought to myself well ok maybe it'd be too damn good with a 2x reflex... but really that doesn't seem to be quite good enough an explanation to me anymore.

Has anyone ever seen any mention of this in an official capacity?

That is certainly odd, and I hate to reply to you saying that I don't know, but I don't.

However, I'm getting into the Medic (Engineer is getting boring) and I'm looking for a reasonable upgrade. Is this rifle worth it?

It's probably the best VS AR.

There's quite a few guns in the game that come with X1 Reflex only, I think it's odd myself but wonder if it's part of the balancing. And of course to push people into using a variety of guns!

Because it is the "CQC" specialist AR - this is true of the NC's GR22 as well (and all the CQC carbines/lmg's)

As to why they decided the CQC weapons wouldn't get 2x... /shrug

I don't think the GR-22 or Cycler get a 2x reflex option either, which are pretty much the H-V45's rivals.

Yeah I was going to ask if that was the case with those as well, but figured someone would mention it even if I didn't. I expected this to be the case though, very odd. Like i said it does make alot of sense that it might just be too powerful with these optics, but still, bah!!

Give the gun a shot, you should be able to figure it out pretty quick. I think its power is somewhat overrated (though it is definately awesome), but it has some rather key features: It looks awesome and it feels great. I think these more than anything else help this gun be as popular as it is. Also the times when the shot spread works for you and gets a number of shots on face at reasonable ranges doesn't hurt either =p

Just verified, the orion also doesnt have a 2x reflex, i think this is just a balance thing with the .75x ads speed guns to stop them from being crazy awesome, or maybe it's a technical hurdle with the 2x reflex and how it works mechanically. Either way, not there, definitely not unintentional, though unknown intention.... really wish I had a good answer on this.

Nothing technical about it, it's just a design choice!

Can't edit my last post but just to note my NC GR-22, which is the very similar freedom-lover's gun, also has the Reflex 1X but no 2X

if it's missing a X2 reflex it's not a bug, it's intended.

Look at the Vanu Orion or the Terran T9 CARV, they only have a few optics available as well.

H-V45 is missing a 2x Reflex because it is intended to be a close quarters to close mid range weapon. This is the same for the Orion, Serpent and VX6-7.

If i were able to mount a 2x on a CARV my life would be complete... It's a beastly optic, useful at any range between cqc and medium-to-long. A shame that some weapons don't get it, but apparently is for forcing people to make choices.

All the guns that can use adv. laser sight can't use 2x reflex.

It's an unbelievable rifle. Really is good.

However, to any one playing a VS medic. If you don't want to spend the certs/SC on a rifle, the standard Pulsar is really nice. Infact i'm going back to do my auraxium medal on it since I already have it on the H-V45, love the Pulsar.

Nope, the Cycler TRV has both adv laser and 2x reflex...

IMO it's fine without the 2x reflex. It can be used really well at medium range, but close range is where it shines. It also seems that it's easier to kill with the new game update.

They need to add it to the other factions. 2x is the sweet spot for me. Provides some form of magnification while not influencing CQC in the slightest.

Certed it today. Love it!

I definitely want the 2x reflex on my GR-22, Anything with more magnification is useless.
