On topic: Not really sorry I chose NC, only sorry what has been done to NC. Played since PS1, and I really don't feel like the shotgun tot'n hick liberty faction I used to be. Something changed.

TR and VS still feel the same to me. Easy mode, evil people looking to control the world. TR though Government, VS through Eugenics. (edited: remembered the darwin word) Both polar enemies of Appalachia.

Weapons translate well on paper and numbers, but when used in actual combat situations, these weapons can be god awful..
I personally believe people need to stop believing these magic numbers, and look at performance stats, not theoretical numbers predicting theoretical TTKs..

Take the Prowler with Anchor mode, Theoretically, it should have the highest TTK, but it doesn't, Why? because the game is about Hit Ratio and Miss Ratio, and given guns more ROF isn't going to make it "Better" just mean you miss more with a higher chance of landing more hits per clip, nothing to do with numbers on paper when it comes to combat performance.

But because of these numbers, people Cry and people whine. So for instance the numbers for Anchor mode have been reduced to make the TTK of the Prowler more equal, making Prowler's under perform outside of anchor mode.. but not everyone likes or wants to use Anchor mode, it causes the Empire MBTs to camp behind the Zerg.

That's just an example of how broken this game is, when people whine about numbers, and not making weapons based on how it functions or behaves in actual combat. Nothing really is special when you make make weapons based on Numbers and making them the same as each other. Tinkering some Recoil here and some damage there..

That's just how I feel it is. Forum Spite threads, Nerf Threads.. have all ruined most weapons in game, because the whine threads out number the good ideas, Devs need to stop listening to us sometimes, and just make things how they want them. Then Nerf them based on performance and behaviour, not numbers based on a static target at X distance.. Mass spite threads aren't feedback, their whines of farmers losing easy kills.

I suppose it comes down to SOE forcing you to change faction every once in a while in order to squeeze another couple of $ out of you.

Break the Striker, buff the other factions to annoy you into having to join dirty 4th faction. Part of the reason they took the bizarre decision to allow more than one faction on one the same server.

Result of pay to win sadly.

I liked NC during beta, but didn't start playing till about 8 months after launch. RL friends of mine started playing and talked me into giving it a try so I did and went all in TR as that was the faction they chose, now they don't play at all..
I still mainly play TR but started Alts on VS,NC and IMO everything TR weapons can do the other factions can do it better outside of a very few exceptions. I am just starting to get back into TR weapons, but i have to say I am happy that any faction can use NS weapons.

The only problem I find with TR is that all our ES stuff is broken. They kind of fixed MCG. Lockdown is garbage. Striker was nerfed into oblivion. Anchored isn't as good as it used to be (but at one point was OP).

But look at some of our other stuff. The mossy is held by many to be the best ESF (arguably with Scythe). The Lynx and Carv are two of the absolute best CQC weapons out there. The Cycler TRV is often called the flat out best AR in the entire game. What the TR lacks is options for range. The Cougar was a good step but we could use some more. The TMG-50 is a bit unwieldy. I would like a 100rnd magazine alternative (something to truly compete with Gauss SAW). I would also like a way for prowlers to be more competitive up close with other tanks.

Plus if you play on Connery, you know the TR coordinates a crap ton more than NC.

All in all, TR ain't that bad.

While I'm certainly miffed by Marauder/Vulcan/Striker situation, am of opinion MAX cycler variants spray everywhere but where I point them and feel bumhurt by Vanguard's shield, I have no regrets. I've had quite a bit of fun during my time in PS2 after all.

Majority of it was because of the people I played though - and most of them weren't quite as tolerant of the (perceived?) injustice of those nerfs (and lockdown as MAX ability) and it kinda contributed to them leaving the game. Now this is I am more angry about; some questionable decisions on SOE's part has chased away too many people for me to forgive them.

But that is not really a TR-specific complaint, is it?

Whilst i prefer the NC weapons (they look pretty good and hit hard enough to make me feel like i'm actually doing damage), i still play with my TR alt. namely because i'm on miller and the experience there is much much better compared one on colbalt. Although that being said, i would have liked to have my NC character on miller as well and null the whole issue.

I'm not entirely sure about the TR weapons. Most of them are decidedly meh. As a HA my options feel more limited compared to the NC where i have aux the saw, gd22, em6 and working towards the SAW S. My TR character wise... i'm not so keen on the other weapons yeah, i've AUX Tmg and soon the rhino but after maybe the MSW? I don't know, i generally dislike the carv in general.

The Medic class i can't see any weapon i would want to use beyond the starter weapon and the engineers stuff i don't bother as i don't play engineer / LA Enough to care.

And I am just an average player, but as long as I have fun, which I have, I don't really care.

I like the TR weapons. I have some favourites, I have found that I tend to like All Arounders better than niche weapons. And many of the TR all arounders.. CARV, T1 cycler, Trac 5.. they all feel like perfectly fine guns to me. Yes, shame about the Striker, but then again I only find lancer and phoenix marginally better... The biggest downside is the need to hold the lock, only to find that you most often cant hold the lock anyway and die to a sniper. But it is totally optional what equipment you want to use in the game, and I feel like TR has something for everyone.

I just seem to favour the TR mind set. Authority. Unity. Coordinated army. Thats the way to go. NC are just a bunch of mislead gun-nuts and capitalists, thinking that anarchy will get the world anywhere.. and VS are my second favs, but they seem a bit odd..

I'm all too familiar with Appalachia. I'm a native born Appalachian(WV). However, as much as you feel they hate government they sure don't mind living off them. Many years ago that may have been the case but government is the largest employer in my home state. So, as far as government being a polar enemy of Appalachia that is not accurate at all. Off course that is completely off topic and for informative purposes only.

On topic I find TR to be just the right balance for me but I also enjoy the NC as well. My favorite weapons from both are T5-AMC/T-32 Bull for TR and GD-7F/EM1 for NC. I don't play VS yet but I'm leaning towards creating an alt very soon. Never know when you might need some augmentation.

Yes, and the reason why TR overtook NC as the most overpop faction on EU servers is because the players are going for the underdog...

You know that is because every time a Phoenix is fired outside a sniper gets a hard on. You are a standing duck (it takes you out of crouch) for entire flight time. For every 4 phoenix rockets i fire, i will die at least once to a sniper or some tank i didn't see hiding 300m out that had amazing aim through a small slit or lobbed his round over a wall or through a rock.

We no longer have nanoweave5 headshot invulnerability from snipers! So the next time a mother tells you to wear a helmet while skateboarding or riding a motorcycle, tell her to F off, they don't provide any protection

I might consider the bull and i certain like how it feels and plays (its just like the t16) but the ammo is aggressively low. 60/180 or something like that? Its a bit annoying. Especially how the TR weapons encourage you to splooge your bullets.

Plus its a 1000 certs. i have nearly 5000, but damn... for one gun. I might have to look the carv again and decide. Its not chump change at the pace i play (its around 50-100 in 2 hrs and i generally play maybe one or 2 times a week. So it would take me months to get just 1000 certs),
