Any positive reactions to PU2?

My reaction is... "It is what it is". :)

That's my reaction for all of life, quite honestly. Why get emotional over something that I don't control? Just deal with it, that's how I was raised. (shrug)

From past updates, I know in a month's time I won't even remember what the game used to be like, pre-PU02. That's just how I roll I guess.

Well, my most used MAX weapon Comet got nerfed, my most used weapon Serpent got nerfed, ZOE got nerfed before I actually got a change to abuse it , My most used vehicle Scythe got nerfed, my LMG got nerfed, my secondary MBT weapon got nerfed while MBT itself still being the worst and my sniper got nerfed so yes, I do find it a bit hard to find anything positive about this patch...

    1. Freyr Amp Station is very fun to both attack and defend.
    2. The new Biolab layout does not play as badly as I originally thought it would.
    3. Nanoweave cert refund gave me a chance to rethink some choices I made when I was still new to the game.
    4. Harassers play more like they look now. Agile and deadly, but not tougher than a tank.
  4. teks

I find esimir to be the best map for tanks.

I espesially like the battlerifle changes!

though I admit they caused more balance issues the they fixed
  5. Dethfield

Ive found this update to be pretty good.

    - Basilisk is now formidable
    - Vanguard AP got a small buff
    - New tanker's helmet (longbow)
    - The proximity radar switch might prove interesting after all
    - Nanoweave is no longer the only "viable" suit slot, interested to see how it plays out
    - harassers are now what they should have been in the first place (if you want to duke it out with a tank, get yourself a tank)
    - The MAX issue seems to be dieing down, never had much problem with ZOE's but less whining is a good thing

I think everyone should wait and see how the patch changes play out in the actual game before deciding whether they were good or bad.

Downloaded for 2 hours, waited for an hour or so, then got on to play for 3 hours or so. Gameplay was surprisingly good for patch day, although there was an issue where far away outdoor players would flicker around and I couldn't hit them. Although one guy about 200m away was not moving and I plinked him 15 times with no death. I'm sad the Harasser got nerfed but it was logical, a buggy shouldn't be outperforming tanks. Close-up infantry combat seems good, I certed back into Nanoweave for gunfights and haven't noticed a big difference in how fast I die.

The official forums are, as always, a terrible barometer for the efficacy of a patch. People will kick and scream about their favorite toy being nerfed, but people generally wont hop on to say good job and that everything's great. As I see it right now, there's three major schools of thought here:

    1) The crowd that is just happy that Harassers and ZOE got nerfed and everything else is just cake
    2) The crowd that had their Harassers and ZOE nerfed and are going full throttle video game rage
    3) The NC, who for the first time came out better overall after a major update, and are largely standing mouth agape in disbelief.

I expect the Basilisk to be toned down a bit as it is just amazing and a killing machine right now, and I expect some weapons that are performing worse than was probably intended (Jaguar/Lynx come to mind, as well as the TRV somehow being more accurate than the TAR at the moment) but overall the nail is hit squarely on the head. I love my NC arsenal now that the Reaper/X11 are viable options and underperforming/underutilized guns (EM1, GD-22S, burst variants, and the Rebel to name a few) have been tweaked to not only have a niche, but to excel in it. This after a full year of guns like the those being worse in every single way than even their S variant alternatives. It's pretty great.

    Love the patch. Very happy.

    ZOE Nerf!!!!!!!

    Wooooooooo.
  9. Epic High Five

This is true, and it's really crazy to go back to a year ago and see the insane crap that was going on that's basically impossible now. Best example I can think of was the epic Siege of Allatum during which the NC held off both the TR and VS driving relentlessly at it for 27 hours.

Biolab battles were prized back then, because everywhere else was swarming with rocket pods and Zephyrs and lockdown HE Prowlers and the Magrider at its insanest.

We may still be holding it today, if not for traitorous dogs from Reddit who crashed the hex and organized a mass drop on the now empty biolab

Mentalities like that is the reason this game is garbage now buddy...

It's a 24/7 persistent WAR. Not a 5 minute CoD simulation. What don't you people get about that?! There is NOTHING wrong with a 27hr battle, you're not supposed to play through an entire continent in one sitting and continent caps should be 1) rare and 2) VERY rewarding.

The entire direction this game took is a farcry away from where it was and where it needs to be. If you have the attention span of a spoiled child, play CoD or BF4 but don't come here and ruin the only alternative I have to play a legit war game MMO

Game is uber lame now, have not and will not play it for a while, if ever again. I know, I know you don't care blah blah blah. Have fun playing CoD 2.0 and thanks for making sure this game has no large or persistent fights. While I'm at it I'd like to thank SOE for ruining their own game and having no backbone to ignore the cries of spoiled children who want to cap a base every 5 minutes.

The one postive I've taken from this patch is the fact a harraser now has to work for his kill against my skyguard. I pull the Skyguard more than I pull any other armour and to now not just be a free meal for the vulcan harraser is fantastic.

They did some minor changes to a few bases, Esamir Towers have had their insides reverted back to pre Esamir change ie the walls on the stairs outside spawn/above A have been removed to be more open again. Performance boost, not seen any it's the same as it was with OMFG:1 so no changes. Although they're alot of things wrong with this patch and I can see how many of those problems will impact on wether a player chooses to play over the holidays or not.

Uhhhh, did you even read the post? Because I think you may have some comprehension issues, because that whole post you quoted is very obviously about enjoying that sprawling battle was awesome and I wish it could hapen more often. I enjoyed it thoroughly despite constant sundy exploit hex crashes and just how bananas the HE spam used to be. How you got "oh and this is bad rahrahrah" from that I'll never understand.

This is actually literally the only multiplayer FPS I've ever played in my entire life, because I also dislike the CoD/BF setup.

I'm sorry that you aren't happy that this game isn't Sun Tzu Milsim Simulator 2013 or whatever the hell it is you seem to expect, but if you're not playing or contributing anything but sarcasm and dumb opinions, I think it'd be best if you let your actions to the talking and kindly **** off because this is a positive thread for positive reactions
  13. Benjamin2501

Everything is now watered down and the game is a buggy pile of trash.
  14. Pikachu

I got a smile when I survived being hit by an AV turret today. :D My dear flak armor. I think I got hit by a fracmax and didnt even lose all shield.
  15. Epic High Five

Well now you just make sure that door doesn't hit ya where the good lord split ya
  16. Benjamin2501

Oh, I am sure things will change again, so I am not too concerned.
  17. Poorform

Game still works and I didn't freak out about the issues, which they just happened to hotfix. So things are going well.
  18. Gundem

Would you be happy if MBT's had lower accuracy, so you were a lot less likely to be Direct-hit, yet HE rounds became viable again?

Say, give MBT canons a CoF of .5, .7 for HE. Then, it would be harder to direct hit, but HE rounds would be very, very lethal without Flack. Say, HE gets a killing blast of 5 meters, and each level of Flack reduces that by 1 meter until only a very unlikely direct hit can kill you, but direct hits are guaranteed kills.
  19. KoS-1

I can positively say, this patch and how things have been handled is another dagger into the game. The game will die even faster.

Amazing SoE does the same thing over and over again. Guarantee they will double down on the mistakes and continue down that path. EQ with GoD, their style hasn't changed in over 12 years.
  20. BaronBobBlitzkrieg

    Yup. My thoughts exactly.
