Another Day, Another Dozen Subscribing Matterson Players Walking Away

Merging all TR into one server will finally give us an even popped fight

These are from last night. I took these because of how pitiful the situation is. I'm trying to get more TR to go to waterson where the water is nice and warm. Plenty of NC to kill.

20% TR? NC and VS dont stand a chance.

The WDS bring out the worst min/maxing behaviour in PS2.

It really turns the thumbscrews on population issues.

Where you will inevitably bring down the player base there too? Love you guys that complain but do nothing to fix the problem.

I was on my TR toon last night and actually had a lot of fun. Camp Connery was raining certs, mind you I was in a max suit. When we lost it I went over and started skyguarding the VS side near our warpgate where it was raining scythes.

It reminded me of the time VS on waterson was at 18% pop each night and we had to fight our way out of the warpgate. You dont have to travel half the map to find a fight.

People need to stop worrying about land and bases so much and just have fun shooting stuff. If your underpop then your underpop, who cares about alerts in that situation, just go find fun fights.

If 50% of NC and VS are fighting each other, then the other 50% are fighting TR, your totally screwed! No need to team up!

Let me explain.

Assume 100 players on the continent.

20 NC are fighting 20 VS
20 NC are fighting 10 TR
20 VS are fighting 10 TR

You outnumber 2:1.

I played on mattherson as TR for over a year. I remember when VS had the short end of the stick and I had respected them for competing with the TR and NC. After the merge and the large exodus from goon to goku I stuck around. I was there for the ATRA alliance which was waged to humiliate BCP who admittedly deserved it. The attitude of the VS/NC towards TR hasn't changed, the trash talking when being out manned and out gunned has remained long after that wanna be poster boy left. I've always played on the under pop faction and until two days ago kept my mouth shut about the server as a whole.

Why encourage players to participate in a doggy beat down faction on a server filled with the worst player base I've ever seen in roughly ten years of gaming? I've done a lot more for the TR on mattherson than you have. If you want mattherson TR to bounce back from this crap hole it's in then the Vanu have to fix it. They are the ones who took this game way too seriously at the expense of the underwhelming population and they are the ones with the numbers to make this right again.

Deny the inevitable all you want, vanu is killing that server faster now than ever before. Congrats, you beat the game.

TR is lowest pop on Waterson most of the time as it is, this would just help finish PS2 off for good.

SOE does not need any help in doing that, they already seem to have it covered.

Honestly, I'm surprised that more dedicated PS2 fans do not do what I've been doing and play on under populated factions when population discrepancies are that large.

I think that is really the saddest part because at the end of the day this is a problem the players could solve just by supporting the under populated faction. Seems it is too easy to forget that the real content of the game is the other players and in that way we are all on the same team and your opposition, in many ways, is more important than your allies to the real enjoyment of the game.

Do people really enjoy playing with such a huge population advantage? I know I do not, but I guess a lot of people do and it just makes me wonder.

It's so bad its gotten to the point where more Nc/Vs are dieing to friendly fire than they are to Tr bullets

As a loyal TR, I have realized there is two things that I can do to solve this problem:

1. Nothing.
2. And like it.

Begging the other factions to play TR is far more likely to arouse contempt and ridicule from potential players than grow the TR community on Matterson.

The brass is not impressed.

It is only in hours as dire as these we learn who the true loyal soldiers are.

The only reason why this happened was because for the most part Matherson TR was Basically The Enclave up until about a half year to a year ago, and TE were once the largest outfit in the game.

When TE abandoned after their dickbag leader performed PR suicide, most of the pops went with it. I imagine a lot of TE players didn't play Matherson because it was the most convenient server for their location, they played because it was home to Enclave. After TE went away I feel like those who didn't decide to move to AOD and BWC decided to either just quit or start characters on servers that are actually close to them and their other TR friends play on.

Something needs to be done, but not sure what. Guess this is a cautionary tale of what happens when massive outfits disband - a large chunk of the server population of that faction tends to go with it. They've never had great pops since that happened a long while back and more and more people kept quitting or moving to other servers as the situation got worse.

I remember for the first year of launch Vanu was in a similar position - constantly underpopped against huge outfits like Enclave for TR and GOON (or whatever it was) for NC - we managed to hold our own though for the most part. Then when big outfits started disbanding, stuff like ZoE happened, etc.. the pop is now in our favor. Not really ideal.

You're not getting it because you're illiterate. You can't read a post and you can't even read screenshots. Allow me to correct your simplified math.

35 NC are fighting 15 TR
35 VS are fighting 5 TR

That's what is happening on Matterson at prime time. The NC and the VS aren't fighting against each other. The VS/NC fronts go completely silent while both factions pour into TR territory, even if it means 100+ VS ghost capping from one 5 minute multi-platoon ghost cap to the next.
