I would like to point out that while no combat between VS and NC was happening on Indar, we were locked in a death struggle at Andvari and Ymir on Esamir, with at least 3 platoons on each biolab. We managed to take Ymir despite the NC pop advantage by the end of the alert.

    Really?

And what are they doing now, at 11:45 PM EST, an hour later, and more than an hour after the alert ended? Don't know why the pop percentages didn't show, but they're still 40/20/40.

Still holding that Bio Lab buffer?

Roll a TR on Waterson. We have a ridiculous NC overpop but can still beat them in alerts pretty often because they're hilariously terrible. We just hammerfisted a 40% NC world pop zerg in an amp station alert, playing whack-a-mole against TIW's bumbling constipated HA/Scatmax zergs is a Waterson TR tradition.

It is highly disappointing after taking a several day break for my birthday and visiting some female friends, to return home and try to play a short bit before going to bed for some well earned sleep- and to load up the game to this crap disparity between the faction population.

Ruined my return to playing the game.

Well for starters, TR need to get their strategic priorities lined up. If you're faced with two fronts and losing fights on both, you should commit to the front that's more important. Camp Connery isn't a major facility, Mao is. Mao is also the harder of the two to take back given its geography and the fact that it'd be VS, who give you guys harder fights anyway. Conducting any counter-offensive with no vehicle resource points is pretty difficult, so it should have been prioritized to save over fighting the NC over a worthless base that was lost anyway.

Second, the TR need to stop being so slow to react, and to actually learn to fight back against the VS. Sometimes whenever I see a VS zerg forming on the map aimed at TR territory, I send Commander Shepard a /tell about it so he can notify his outfit and TR command if they aren't already aware. The last one I sent to him was a couple days ago when the TR were busy cramming platoons into death valley at Quartz Ridge - Northgate, and the VS hadn't even gotten a timer on Howling Pass yet, and he sent me back a depressed /tell about how no TR outfit was willing to defend it.

The NC often gets double-teamed between the TR and VS as well, and we still fight on both fronts (even if we lose) rather than just give up entirely and let one faction take whatever it wants without a fight.

Finally, AOD is honestly one of the worst things going for TR at the moment, and the more TR that abandon them for more competent outfits the better off the faction will be. A few weeks back they gave the VS a free tech plant on Amerish when NC had 3, the VS and TR each had 2. GOKU had a couple squads at Tumas, and us GOONs watched the map entirely aghast as the hex population hit 48+ TR, then the next hex, and the one after that, as the TR committed themselves to trying and failing to take Heyoka from the VS while Tumas was capped behind them. We found out later that AOD had literally overflown their own tech plant as GOKU captured it without bothering to stop in and wipe out two squads. That is utter incompetence, and its just one of a long list of poor decisions that I've seen them make.

Yes, the TR need more people, that issue goes without saying, but it's undeniable that what people it does have are being poorly managed and poorly lead.

Well when I logged in at 5pm est the NC and the TR had the VS warpgated on Indar. Where is that screenshot? TR was at Feldspar Canyon and NC was at the Stronghold. Soon as the alert started you guys kept fighting at our warp gate instead of trying to take a biolab, you had 2 chances at the start to take one, at Andvari and Ikanam TR was still warpgating VS on Indar. We even left Ikanam completely undefended several times and you guys never even touched it.

The last screenshot was the WDS zerg going for Mao which was worth 100pts along with some surrounding territories worth 40 and 50 pts. I played through what you are going through when TE was dominating the server. I guess what comes around goes around.

its not as bad on connory for territory, the TR actually won an alert, but the battles are terribad, especially with the WDS debacle, its like the TR forgets how to play every time they log in, great teamwork, but they just get shredded, including me

I am NC matt and I might go TR to help you guys out. I am getting burned out playing NC anyway

TR has population issues on most servers I hear. They should definitely do something about it.

Sad thing is I was at Camp Connery during all that.

And as an NC player I can say I do not like it anymore than you do. It is just plain boring to play with such a overpopulated group.

Though I will say that you guys showed just how dumb the NC are with that fight at Camp Connery. I could not fight there as I was just sitting in the distance watching and laughing hysterically for over an hour as the NC who had 2-1 maybe 3-1 population over you there still could not take the place. Funny is that 90% of them were camped in tanks refusing to get out and only a few ground troops actually available to try and cap and hold the points. Only after you seemed to abandon it did they actually get it and push from there.

After that I rolled a TR on Mattherson and will start leveling it up and playing that for awhile. You can only take so much of the above before you need to move elsewhere.

WDS has really brought the worst out in the playerbase. Even with Malorn stating only 1% are "forth factioners" he never stated players who have switched to playing only one faction which i feel, and many others, has happened since every single balance changed. Odd that VS were overpop in a lot of servers when ZOE was king and now NC are with ZOE nerfed... Just odd.

Though even with that aside the east coast servers are really starting to have just overall population issues. 12:30am EST today, one good fight with more than 24+ on Indar (Waterson). I know its off hours, but look ive been on Connery till 6am and Zergs are still a zerging with plenty of healthy battles. This happened before with servers, is it time to merge the east coast servers?

Having a larger player population in total does tend to help things out.

This was taken right after a global biolab alert which the TR started out with competitive pop, pushing Rashnu and Ikanam, until both those assaults faltered and the TR pop tanked as they just logged off or mindlessly spammed whatever numbers they had at the NC biolabs of Saurva and Mani. With an hour left in the alert. When your collective inability to follow through and subsequent defeatism ends up turning a 2 front battle for all sides into a 1 front battle for the VS/TR and a 2 front versus the entirety of the TR/VS pop for the NC, then yeah the NC are probably going to hellmarch all the way to your warpgate. It's what we do to the VS when the situation flips so we're not picking on you, we just want to make your easy way out harder so you don't do it next time.

As far as VS and Mao goes, this is the first time you've had to deal with being in the North of Indar while the VS are in the SE, so let me let you in on a little secret:

The VS have some kind of sick, unknowable obsession with Mao that causes them to drive at it endlessly, no matter what is going on anywhere else. They will always be pushing Howling Pass, always. If they get past that, you have literally 20 seconds to respond or NS Offices will be neck-deep in Magriders and Lib spergs. If you don't kill the vast majority of them before they start magburning up the hills east of Mao then you've already all but lost.

They will push 2 platoons to Mao and take it even if they don't run into a single member of the opposition at a single base on the way. There's some kind of VS pheromone being produced naturally in the hills around Mao and if you could find that source and nix it before we get the North again we'd greatly appreciate it.

********, and you know it. It was never this bad for any faction. For most of the Mattherson's life VS were outpopping both factions most of the time. So it's easy for you to talk like that since you are on a high-pop horse here. Even when TE was still around TR pop was bad unless it was ops time.

Did you just pull a screenshot from 2 days ago to make this post? Because that was when we were Warpgating the TR on tuesday.
  15. RoyAwesome

That graph only goes back to August when they started tracking, 4-5 months after TE threw in the towel. Sirisian's goes back further and it show a significant NC overpop at the start of it's tracking. Go back even further, to around this time last year, and VS barely hit 30% world pop. So, no, you are wrong. TE leaving signaled the death knell for the TR on Mattherson.

The thing is, we've stuck around. We've kept fighting. We've learned how to have fun in a ****** situation. We bonded. We got better. And eventually, we started winning.

Yeah, and starting March 10 VS consistently beats TR, which is most of the time is at the bottom. And starting May through Summer. This time last year TE was still around and fighting VS every damn time, and during that time VS never were as underpopped as you claim. On the contrary, it was often overpopped so it often took both NC and TR to warpgate you. VS Mattherson arrogance in all it's glory.
  17. Delta102

Before TE left NC was the dominate faction in terms of population before Vanu, TR was never the dominate faction on Mattherson in terms of population as they were all on Waterson.

This reminds me of the partitioning of poland. Maybe that's where SOE took their inspiration?

Was fun times for everyone involved I bet. As long as they weren't a pole.
