Do you guys have support with your MAXes? Do you use partial cover? Back in and out of doorways or otherwise limit the # of enemy that can fire at you at once? They're tanks when used properly, that doesn't mean you should be able to walk into the open of 20+ enemy focus firing on you and survive. That's ridiculous.

Bulletproof maxes are very good for offense , theres no way you can kill a max crash with smallarms in ps1 , but you can kill them with anti vehicule with ease . Whats wrong with your gameplay , when i see a maxcrash i always hotswap for heavy assault , rethinking the gameplay to be EFFICIENT against maxes , it is already working to kill maxes with AV weapons . BUT people are forced to be brainless and continue to shoot with the exact same weapon they use to kill infantry to wear down maxes . It shouldnt be the case , as an assault powerhouse , a max shouldnt backup for cover and then bein spammed to dead with AV because the enemy infantry had time to swap because of this backu move from the max . it is the normal infantry to backup first , not the max ( especially in the case you describe : multiple infantries that fires on the max at once ).
I am on subject. I was making a point that MAXes already are powerhouses.... when used properly... and do not need to be made bulletproof. Also, you can still cert into further reduced bullet damage, reducing incoming bullet damage as a max by 25% You cite PS1 as why MAXes should be bulletproof... yet PS1 also had much slower TTK's for everything, so it would have made a lil more sense. Also, anyone could carry a rocket launcher... so you don't need to sacrifice all healing and other support capability to combat them.
not anyone could have a rocket launcher . as for ttk , a c4 oneshot a max 2 missiles kills a max for slower ttk , well , it has a slower ttk for some weapons , HA for instance was identical . bulletproof maxes for the win !
Honestly, aside from Infiltrator, there is NO class that doesn't have access to anti-armour capability. And all classes have access to various mines and grenades
HA is the most popular class, and there are always rockets to use against a MAX, barring the most sparsely populated fights. Bulletproof MAXes would be abused to no end. They are simply too powerful for such a trait, especially the NC MAX. Played well, explosives are a present but avoidable risk, and could not be expected to counter bulletproof MAXes. Instead, you're going to see a lot of MAX gameplay. Even uncerted MAXes would be pulled constantly to dominate infantry fights. If you're imagining MAXes would be the counter to each other, the current AV weapons would be laughably inadequate. No, there are much better ways to increase the MAX skill cap or balance their damage. Restricting AI weapons to a single arm, and rebalancing for that, for example. The new skills that are coming might help, depending on their utility compared to charge. I've always favored buffing the TR and VS weapons RoF considerably, making it a cyclone of lead or plasma point blank. CoF and damage falloff would be high to limit their range. MAXes were just neglected - we need to see where everything is after the balance pass before we come up with more crazy ideas.
