Why not add animation of looking at your weapon to the game, as in more modern games? I would like to admire my skins and weapons. Moreover, the animation of looking at weapons from a third person is already in the game, this can be seen in the character selection menu. Also, why not add poses for posing? This could be monetized. I think many of us took group screenshots with our teams as a keepsake, but there were only two poses, standing and sitting.
The game's in a little of a pickle right now. What would be the point of displaying the model of your gun, when it looks like a pile of garbage on low graphics... Low graphics are currently a prerequisite to be able to compete in this game (as with higher there is visual handicap), and also most recent adjustments to the game caused such a brutal decline in performance that I can safely assume majority can only play on low graphics settings now... If, we still had 2020 graphics for example, you know before we received these new graphical adjustments, and before addition of NSO faction, Oshur, Esamir rework and whatnot, the game was perfectly stable on highest graphics with a weak 2GB graphics card. At this moment the selection for medium or low graphics may have been removed altogether to only have one option, high graphics, cause firstly the rest were mainly chosen to gain visual advantages but also, low graphics was never a good advertisement to the game, it'd attract nobody. And obviously if my 2GB graphics card maintained stable performance in large fights using highest graphics, then those content creators for Planetside 2 (Youtube,Twitch) had much better PCs and chose low on purpose, solely for the advantages... I also heard from so many people that the addition of Construction which happened a long time ago as well caused a brutal deterioration in performance... I noticed that the addition of NSO which was more recent, also caused a big deterioration. It decreased my FPS in larger fights by a staggering 30 FPS, I noticed many times. Obviously, it never got optimized, because it is so bad right now that it feels like this game will be closed any second now. These devs could have shown at least a bit of interest in improving performance of game by adjusting or removing construction for example, which evidently does not work and its only purpose is to sit as a lousy money grab, which is ineffective to begin with, as the certs can be easily farmed, and our cert economy has been annihilated, making us swim in certs. Lastly, we all would want better animations but for example if you look at the amphibious guns and look at those animations, I wouldn't have big expectations lol.
Well good for you, but still, the meta in this game is using low graphics for visual advantages, and it's ridiculous. Planetside 2 on low graphics looks worse than games that came out in 2005, low graphics setting is that unappealing. Obviously, this game was never intended to appear like that and such options where available solely for those with lower end PC's to be able to compete in this F2P game (2012). But it rather turned into a meta now... And all these recent graphical adjustments to the game are questionable, because I believe this game before did not have resolution option for higher res monitors, but I have yet to see one use high resolution nowadays. People with higher res monitors actually decrease in-game resolution to purposefully distort it, compact it, to possibly counteract recoil, and it's again all about advantages. They play on low graphics that look worse than Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005), on a high res monitor lol, when they could for sure run it on high graphics with their heavily invested PC. But these graphical adjustments are ultimately all questionable because this game never had good models to begin with to display the detail on high res, it doesn't really have details because the mesh is simplified... Its graphical strength was more so in the unique lighting effects. The entire game would have to be redesigned from assets to map. So, pretty much the integrity of this game was decimated to test a lousy badly planned project. And the ultimate joke is that the game doesn't look any better now than before, I would say worse because it was left in an incomplete state... Planetside 2 in 2020 ran 2x better than now. So, you would have 240 FPS in 2020, if you have 120 FPS. You know, people have much better PCs nowadays than during the times when the game came out in 2012, so it would have been a safe bet to remove low and medium graphics options with minimal repercussions in general and an advertisement victory because finally the game would look better in youtube videos, twitch.... But instead, the PC requirements got upped because performance was decimated by these projects and further reinforced the low graphics meta...
