Amerish Lattice with GU12 this week

As Higby stated, GU12 will have Amerish lattice along with it. Here is how the Amerish lattice looks now on the test server and would like this thread to discuss what they think of Amerish lattice and give some potiental feedback for the developers. [IMG]

I thought lattice was awesome during the first week post Indar change. Absolutely hate it now.
  6. MilitiaMan

Is this with the base remake too? or just lattice?
  7. Random Medic

Seems fine at first glance, except for two issues: Splitpeak Pass needs to be connected to the small base below Onatha.
Without that flanking route, Onatha will be a veritable fortress, atleast give us the option of isolating it without dealing with Xelas.

Somewhat less of a concern is the connection to Heyoka from the east. Moss Basin (I think thats the base) is rather neccisary to seige it's gate, and would give a strong counter-attack position to pushes there. Needs a terrain change if they intend to that lattice arrangement

From the look of things, Lattice only.

I said elsewhere, that if they managed to do all of the Amerish base changes and just never told us, that would kind of be a mind****, but I don't see it happening. I find it much more likely we will get both lattices (Lattici?) by the end of the month so there is a more bloody consistent message for new players than what we've got now (Which is ridiculous IMO).

That'll free them up to work on stuff the community cares about, like the Resource Revamp and Hossin... the amerish revamp can be put on the back burner if it'll mean Resource Revamp coming on time.

Uh oh, here comes another lattice vs hex discussion...

GU12 will have lattice and probably the base update, though I wouldn't count on it. Amerish is the most recent continent, and frankly the one that needs the least reform for lattice to work. The test server is not by any means a finished product, nor is it close to it.

By the looks of things, could use s'more connectivity.

Sweet, I love base design on Indar but hate Indar because it is Indar.

I will love this new lattice!
  12. HessianJunker

    Edited my previous post.
Amerish had the most revolutionary base design at launch, and Indar's reform was based on it. Probably wont get much change, as Amerish has natural lattice, so won't need the massive changes Indar did. It's got some freakin' sweet bases as is, but no one ever fights there.

see now, the amerish lattice is pretty damn good. that's the kind of thing the game needs more of.

the indar lattice, while a step in the right direction, is pretty much utter garbage.

and just for fun, lets do a comparison!

One problem I just noticed: there is only 2 ways out of the NW Amerish warpgate: A biolab and an amp station. Yes, there are technically 3 ways OUT OF THE WARPGATE, but they funnel into those two bases. That's... Probably not the best of ideas.

Amp stations after Dome shields will be a Beast to attack, and Biolabs are already such. So... Do we really want one super warpgate that has umpteen times the defensive capability of the other two?

SOE, that is what a continent should look like. Can we have some new continents that aren't squares with the outer edges as out of bounds areas? Make them an interesting shape, throw in some shorelines, islands, lakes and inlets, maybe?

Does it not frustrate you, knowing how many steps backwards PS2 has taken in terms of continent design? Features are supposed to be perfected over time, and yet PS2 is utterly primitive in comparison to its decade-old predecessor.

Planetside has regressed. Step the fudge up, SOE.

I still think there should be some continent with the hex system. I liked the lattice on Indar but it's nice with variation.

So Amerish lattice is going live with the map intact as is on live?

And those connections are a mess. Even the Indar lattice and the Esamir lattice have some structure creating chokepoints between major regions of the maps, that version of Amerish looks like it was farted out during a coffee break based on the current road connections and whatever was closest for Ravens Landing and The Ascent.

    what a mess

thats all the feedback I have since the devs already have it up for release this week and no ones ever going to change it because- anything from PS1 is good and they dont care if every other element of the game goes to crap as long we keep buying hats and they can say look lolzors we made you big battles by telling you where to go
  19. Pikachu

Would be strange since we have not seen any update on Amerish bases yet. We have seen some stuff on Esamir. Berlin walls as they were called and spruces. I expected Esamir base update this week. :(
  20. Ash87

I would say no, because they were talking about previewing some of the stuff on the next FNO... I'm betting that means it's not done yet and we'll see it Gu13 or 14.

Plus again, the Amerish Lattice, Esamir lattice, Esamir Base changes... Thats probably like 3 Gig right there. Anything else would just be more ontop of that, and they said they were going to try and cut down the update size.

...That said, I'd personally love to see Amerish Lattice, Esamir Lattice, Esamir base changes, ESF updates, And all the other junk Higby mentioned in a single GU... but I doubt it'd happen.
