Does anybody have this CPU and or have a good idea on a cooler? I'm not looking for water cooling. Also what is the power requirements for this chip? I'm thinking of getting this chip and putting it into my NZXT phantom full size case which has all the added fans to it with a ASUS crosshair V formula-z. I was thinking of using this heatsink with the chip http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/v8-gts/

    Any help would be great.

Thank you frank. After looking at it the heatsink doesn't have a listed TDP on it. This CPU has a TDP of 220w but the size of it is perfect though.

Get a Noctua NH-D14 or 15 or above for air cooling. They won't look as cool but will perform better than that coolermaster cooler, especially if you are overclocking.

Im using a Scythe mugen 4 , great cooling and really silent on my FX-8350

You don't want some case with a door on it... the DVD/blueray keep crashing into the door when they open.. happens to me all the time. You need a case without a door... no doors on my next case update. it can also screw up the DVD player.

I have found a cooler that I think will work out better then any of those. It's rated at 350 TDP. I did see the heatsink but it doesn't give a specific TDP and it block most of the ram slots.

    Link?

Also I'm running as h100i on my 9590, works great.

It is, I made a typo or my head was up my a$$ heh.

The FX 9590 is a thermal shock. Don´t use aircooling if you want to use the CPU more than 2 hours continuously.
Good liquid cooler are Corsair Hydro series H110 and Enermax LiqTech 240. Both are having two fans - maybe you need a new chassis to install.

Power needs 220 w stock, not OC. If you overclock to 5gh+ you will have like 450/500 w as far as i know. It is not OC friendly.

Honestly, the FX 9 Centurion series are a bad choice. This CPU´s are coming from old AMD structures. The AMD management pulled the ripcord last year after having an enormous minus. The development of Centurions got a shut down and the first 9x series CPU´s were set to be selled. But there is no further developement anymore. - The now selled centurions are rough and crude alpha versions.
The FX 8x series are fully developed and a real good choice if you have already an AMD System and doesn´t want to change to Intel.

Sadly, much as I usually support AMD, Murx is pretty much spot on. The 9590 and it's new siblings just are not worth it. The FX 8320/50's are much better value for money or go Intel. And I'd also have to agree that if you are going to put in a 9590, water cooling with an H100i or better would be advisable. If you do go air, then a Noctua NHD14 or better will do the job as I mentioned previously, but any overclocking at all and I'd seriously recommend good water cooling.

I asked a tech guy about this processor and the 350w air cooled heatsink will work fine. I'm not overclocking the thing just have at it's stock speed and turbo speed. Please tell me what makes that other heatsink better then what I have picked out?
