Am I the only one loves this game?

Getting squashed by a old lady tank driver whos driving on the sidewalk or spam bombed by a freckled face pre pubescent kid in a liberator do both suck ill give you that but I have to say for a fact that I have been in some of the most EPIC battles plaing PS2. Battles that that put any COD, MW or countless others to shame. Can thing be tweaked? Do thing need to be changed? Yes on both accounts but even with the issues the game has it is far better the the before mentioned. I for one look forward to the evolution of this game and will be here till the end.

The one thing you have to remember is that the internet is mostly ruled by prepubescent morons with no more brain ability than a banana slug.

There are certainly things that could use tweaking, but really, I love the game.

I toss in suggestions when I can for things I'd like to see, but I'm pleased with the overall balance of the game between factions.

It is not a bad game, it is actually pretty good when compared to most PC games out there, but comparing it to Planetside and calling it as the sequel dose make it seemed like the game devolved with how much was taken out as compared to new stuff being put in (and I am not just talking about BFRs and Caves we don't need those now). But such as automated and passive base defense the area you could travel in (heck some spots on land are out of bounds) and also the amount of vehicles and the diffrences between the factions were allot better in scale. Ps2 has imrpoved the graphics and a little of the small arms gunfighting but nothing in terms of the overall strategy, or the tank battles or ariel dogfights capability. Als oit is easy to find flaws with the code such as the lack of water physics and the whole if oyu cant see it you cant hurt it feature which ruins the ground air war and makes indirect fire impossible.

However when copmaring it to BF3 or COD (other than the numerous ripoffs from those games put inside Planetside 2) it is a better game then those 2.

I think it's crystal clear that they botched the launch badly from a gamer's perspective, even if perhaps not from the perspective of the bean counters, so it's a bit white knuckle right now for those of us who've seen many many games fizzile in the first months and go no where. That can make comments and attitudes veer towards the extreme sometimes.

I just hope the devs feel the pressure rather than get insulted or frustrated.

The game has a wonderful smooth feel (at appropriate frame rates lol) and excellent environments.

You're missing a few key things:

1.These are the games official forums. If there's no whining here there probably aren't many people playing the game because whiners are usually the first ones to go to the forums... Especially enraged whiners. About 80% or MORE (!!) of any game's playerbase NEVER visits the forums... If there's something important they'll hear it from a friend or guild-mate.

2.The people who are whining and raging about the game usually are:
a: n00bs
b. whiners in general
c. young kids
d. actually right and have valid points
e. all of the above

BUT A through E all have something in common whether they like it or not: they actually care about the game a geat deal. Even the whiniest of whiners who doens't even want to acknowledge it knows that deep down inside they CARED enough to create a giant whine thread about X or Y because they WANT the game to become better in the end and enjoy it even more.

It's never a bad thing to see lots of whining on forums tbh.. Go check out the League of Legends or WoW forums and laugh. These forums are nothing in general compared to those. Especially since this is a newly released quite innovative (when compared to anything else EXCEPT Ps1!) game it's not hardly as bad as it could be in my opinion. =D

So yes: I love this game a great deal but am no blind fanboy.

Yes **** needs to be changed, balanced, added (meta game anyone?) and optimized, BUT for a free (ffs, it IS free!) game with I'd be willing to give them months to figure their **** out! Best free game EVER. And when they do fix their **** up to a degree that I'm nearly satisfied I'd be more than willing to spend some extra cash on it.

I love this game too. My last love was MAG on PS3 which was based on Planetside 1. This game Planetside 2 is the ultimate FPS experience, hands down, beats all! Great work SOE!

Planetside 2 is great. Love it.
I was hesitant at first, at the changes from Planetside 1 (No deliverer? No skyguard? CLASSES?!?!?), but...yeah, the Devs pulled it off. Planetside 2 is the superior game. PS1 will always hold a special place in my heart (it had more continents), but PS2 looks to be an amazing game to carry the flame. I'm excited for what the devs have planned.

wow never saw a ps1 vet. that actually said great things about ps2 i know your not the only vet of ps1 that loves this game but +1 to you my good friend

I love this game, but there is a lot of work that needs to be done.

Almost all PS1 vet dont like this game,it more like Battlefield not Planetside,its suck!

I think the game has potential, but there are some serious issues that need to be fixed.... and SOE is moving pretty slow for such a new release.

In terms of gameplay, PS2 isn't much different from PS1. Actually, and disappointingly, a lot of issues in that game migrated to this one (optimization, culling, some identical exploits/cheats, lack of depth, et al). The only thing significantly different was the character customization you had in PS1.

My belief is that the vets who don't like it are the ones who stuck with it for the whole 9 years and either expected to mould the new game in exactly their image or just don't adapt well to change. I'm a vet and I love the new game. It's actually not yet as awesome as PS1 was back in 2003/4, but a good foundation has been laid and Smed seems happy with player numbers at this stage, so hopefully we're in good shape to see more continents and an even bigger fight to come!

Pity I won't personally be paying any more to the development of the game though. To tee off a big fan like me inside 2 weeks to the stage where I intend to withdraw my financial support is actually quite an achievement on SOE's part.

I love this game, but that hasn't stopped me on this forum and amongst my friends talking about ways that it can be improved - in fact that selfsame love for this game is what makes me point out its flaws and make suggestions for its improvements.

Despite the occasional post or thread that offers nothing except someone complaining and threatening to "leave the game", I have found the vast majority of threads and posts on this forum are constructive critiques that are seeking to improve the game (I don't always agree with people's suggestions but I applaud them for making them). I think overwhelmingly the community wants to see this brilliant game succeed and be the best it can be.

It can be easy to see only those posts and threads which do nothing but throw stones, however I hope you can see that the majority of people posting here and talking in and out of the game love the title; and want to see PS2 evolve into everything the devs and the community envision it could be.

I don't love a game. I like it.
I still see plenty of flaws and potential downfalls of the game - but that's the funny thing. You can point out and complain about things and still like a game.
Just because you post something 'negative' about a situation does not mean the entirety is negative.

Some people often forget that when the go into defense mode for a game they 'love'.

I think this game is friggin terrible. I would much rather play Crysis2 then this pos with no graphics,no story, no tutorial, no fun.
