[Suggestion] Air Balance

    TL;DR: Mosquito is lagging behind A LOT, the Scythe is OP. Please do something about this. I hope that the Devs would look into this in their own way even though I have a suggestion at the bottom.


    I've played the game for many years and the fact that there is always a new vehicle or class to explore is a big part of that. I like the air game very much and I've put hundreds and hundreds of hours into it. I always thought that air game was simply difficult until I played with the Reaver and the Scythe. With the Mosquito, every fight will punish me for every single mistake I make. To compare, I barely need to focus with the other ESFs, and if the fights feel tough, I can always go fight TR and farm the cumbersome low-DPS ESFs.


    Problem explained: Fighting in the air can be seen to consist of dodging and doing damage, lets keep this simple and drop out jumping and teaming. The Reaver has the best afterburner (reverse maneuver) and the best vertical thrust, making it excellent in dodging which nicely compensates for it's "large hitbox". It also has the best DPS so technically it needs to dodge the least amount of time. The Scythe has the same afterburner as the Mosquito and a mid-tier vertical thrust which makes dodging a lot harder than on the Reaver. However, due to it's flat hitbox this is not that big of a problem (very low aim tolerance). One could even go so far as to argue that regardless of the Scythes lower flight capabilities, it is still waaaay harder to hit. The Scythe also has no bullet drop and a mid-tier DPS. One could again argue that the craft is almost equal in its damage output with the Reaver when taking into consideration the more hits scored due to no bullet drop. Now lets talk about the Mosquito. Afterburner is the same as the Scythe but the vertical thrust is the weakest. It is so weak that changing direction in a fight, even with the hover frame, makes the air craft stationary for quite a while, and thus I hear many pilots say that vertical thrust is not a viable dodge at all for a mosquito. While the craft has the worst ability to dodge and a square hitbox (high aim tolerance to all directions), it also has to survive the longest due to its lowest DPS. The craft has high cruise speed, which apparently compensates this, but it cannot be utilized at all during a dogfight. If the craft tries to flee (and use it's faction trait), the added distance that we need to travel due to evasive maneuvering levels the speed differences when feeling from a Scythe. A Reaver will catch up most of the time due to their very powerful afterburners on all airframes. At least to me, it seems that the Mosquito is left holding the short end of the stick without having anything viable to compensate.

    Suggestion: I really hope that the Devs would look at the situation and solve it somehow. My opinion on the matter is that buffing Mosquitos vertical thrust would already bring a lot to the table. However, what would make the most sense to me would be to just swap the flight properties and the nosegun stats of the Scythe and the Mosquito. By doing this, the worst hitbox would have the best guns/dodge, the second worst hitbox would have the second best guns/dodge and the OP hitbox would have the worst guns/dodge but with the best accuracy.

    The Mosquito is best at Air to Infantry. That is what I have seen. Its nosegun lights us up. Scythe is extremely hard to hit. That is what I have noticed. I think that Air to Air is fine, I guess, but I think Air to Ground needs work. When an ESF overexerts, it can still get away fine usually. When any other vehicle overexerts, it gets punished, usually ending in destruction or death. I think weapons like Lock Ons need to do more damage to it.

    Try these links. and because I know what is going to happen I'm going to warn you: check ALL relevant stats. For example looking at a single relevant stat like VKPH without considering VKD is a terrible mistake. If all aircraft have the same VKD and different VKPH's, it means that the one with the fastest VKPH also has the shortest lifespan.

    The game would be pretty boring if every weapon platform was equal. Why have more than one choice at the terminal?

    Paraphrasing a section of your post, you don't do as well in the Mosquito as you do in other aircraft; which you admit are easier for you to use. That isn't a valid argument for adopting your suggestion.
