[Suggestion] Add Trains

    I believe adding a few train transports would be interesting. Maglev path for the route.

    Interesting indeed. If it could partially replace redeployside it would mean a lot for control of the zones and allow ambushes to prevent reinforcements from arriving.

    it would also be a good thing with npc cargo trains moving at speed, could open up new alert types where you try to destroy as many enemy supply trains during an alert before they reach their destinations, the trains could have mounted weapons that players can control and passenger cars so infantry can fire from inside the train carriages.

    it would also be amusing with collision deaths where a vehicle is driving across train tracks and a train at high speed plows down and destorys the vehicle because the driver didn't see the train coming

    What about an end-game alert involving trains?

    Each faction gets 2 trains that they need to drive to an enemy warpgate. The players can choose how the trains drive across the lattice and control it's speed, even allowing it to back up. It makes territory control more useful and building PMB's near/across tracks can stop the train or protect it, or even allow it to be repaired. Players nearby the train can call up a contextual menu to send orders to the train and the HUD keeps track of how many players vote for a certain action. The most voted action at that moment will be executed so that no single person can grief.

    Destruction of the train would mean a new one is spawned in the warpgate. Depending on how easy it really is to get a train there either you get an immediate victory, or you get points for each traincar you get there (and possibly also points for destroying enemy traincars). Most points by timeout or reaching a certain threshold wins.

    sounds like a good way to force continent to cycle when one side has massive continent overpop quickly, since when conts swap people tend to log onto different toons when the continents change.

    Depends on the price of the ticket really. In the UK at present it is nearly a choice of riding a train or buying a house.
