There's a lot of room for movement (pun intended) between the likes of ARMA and arena shooters like Quake Live. On the arena shooter end we have near instantaneous changes in direction with static cones of fire, and on the extreme realism end we have very slow changes in direction with heavy cone of fire penalties for changing direction whilst moving. I feel that Planetside 2 should be somewhere in between the two. A game where everyone stands still and tries to out DPS their opponent sounds quite boring. I really don't see there's currently an issue with the way people can move in the game. What I do see an issue with is the way that latency compensation handles changes in direction. Currently, high ping players especially seem to glitch out the games latency compensation and create situations where they're strafing side to side and changing direction much, much faster than what is actually possible. Furthermore, their hit boxes don't seem to align with their character models. I think this is what most people complain about when they complain about ADADADAD spam. The act of randomly strafing to avoid enemy fire is not itself an issue which needs to change.
