I chose TR because the faction description said it's known for weapons with high rof. Right now TR has only one carbine with really fast rof whereas VS, for example, has two. IMO TR needs at least one carbine with 800 rof and 143 damage to match the faction description more properly and to offer an option for lynx. And no, I don't want the RoF of LC2 Lynx reduced and damage increased. I love it the way it is and it's currently the only carbine I enjoy using. Compare this: "Terran Republic weapons have the fastest firing rates, largest ammo capacities, and are generally designed to allow for maximum sustainable damage. While their weapons have the highest rate of fire of the three Empires, they do not have as much damage on impact." To this: "The VS weapons rely on quickly energizing a splash of plasma-like ammunition that destroys the very bonding attributes of the elements that make up the armor and the flesh of enemy combatants. Although it does not have the impact of the NC weapon systems, nor is it able to equal the rate of fire of the TR weaponry, it is incredibly deadly over a wider area due to the viscosity of the energy." Why does VS have 2 weapons (VX6-7 and Serpent VE92) with higher rof than TR carbines? Lynx is the only exception. Also compared the average rof of TR and VS carbines: TR: 722 VS: 713 The gap could be a bit wider. I'm not crying nor demanding a nerf for VS. I'd just like to see TR carbine selection being more accurate to the faction description. So what do you think? Would you like to see another TR carbine with 800+ rof and with (maybe) higher damage than Lynx?
Honestly... who the hell cares? I mean... I've been playing TR only since beta and I've never felt our carbines are underpowered. I don't care if VS have 2 weapons with higher RoF. Every faction has different weapons / skills pros and cons. Live with that, there are plenty of situations like this in PS2. Balancement does not mean that all the factions must have the same number of weapons having the same stats
+33% more ammo in mag is the TR trait for ARs and Carbines. That's 33% MO' DAKKA And you DO still have the highest RoF avail (though dmg per bullet takes a hit... I still melt faces with Lynx. It's sorta like an SMG though)
Totally agree. 800 RoF 143 Dmg weapon. That should be some kind of TR thing. (Even if id miss my GR-22) But I would take a Trac 5 over any other carbine. Just for the sound.
For NC just give us Bandit ROF weapons VS should stay the same. Probably get chargeups for their LMGs that develop them into Battle Rifles. You know? The only ideas so far. Even if the VS variant would be some kind of ... different.
Well, Id like to see TRAC 5S for VS if TR gets VX6-7 which Fatal_Finn seems to want. And NC could get... 652rpm/143dmg weapon if you dont have yet.
I'm VS, and I approve of this idea! I don't want the Serpent or VX6, I want things like the Lasher and the Solstice! Accuracy over firepower!
1906.6 recurring Damage per second? Erm... That's 2 infiltrators dead before the game picks up on what's happened and sends it to their end... (Not quite literally, btw). This might be a bit strong to limit to one faction. (It'd likely be fine if NC/VS got nice options too) IDK, probably my bias speaking.
Imo Lynx redesign was a good thing. Very deadly at close - short medium and I manage to melt pretty much everything else but HA and MAX. Damage at longer ranges is lacking and missing the target while spraying punishes quickly but that is understandable, of course. Lynx is what I consider a real TR carbine I'm happy with the current carbines mostly. Just think there should be something between 750 and 909 rof. I'm not after each faction having same number of weapons with same stats. That's bad and kills the faction variety and richness. I just find TR carbines a bit lacking with the high rof according to the both TR and VS faction descriptions, that's all. What do you mean? VS has two and NC has one of these weapons already.
You know i never cared to use the VX6-7 too much generic as all get out once I started using TR first to me VX6-7 is meh.
I would fully support, for all TR automatic weapons: Halving damage per bullet Halving recoil per bullet Halving flinch per bullet Doubling ROF Doubling magazine size Doubling/halving any other values that are calculated per bullet so the weapons perform the same as they do now. Come on, let's get some faction difference. I want to see TR guns pushing 2 or 3 thousand RPM. If all the other stuff is changed, balance should be exactly the same as it is now, but we'd have awesome TR weapons. Obviously this wouldn't work with semi-auto guns, and possibly also not some things like the full-auto shotguns, but I haven't been able to think of any downside to this with normal automatics.
