A solution to hackers?

why open this outdated post, i did not see any hackers for weeks now
and if you don't get kills that is completely on your end, being it a crappy connection, computer or the player

by the way i don't know if the devs did a great job with the hackers or the problem solved it self but thanks for this DBG

There's far more than single digits per month, unless you you going to pretend subtle cheaters don't exist. The really blatant ones aren't showing up nearly as much as they were after the H1Z1 debacle, but you do still see one here and there.
  4. HAXTIME

What hackers? If I'm not being too pushy.
  5. Iridar51

    And what is subtle cheating?

According to some people here, crosshair overlay or keyboard/mouse macros are cheating. Next thing they're gonna extend this madness to having a good PC with a quality stereo headset to cheating.
  6. StaHoo33

True m8 let's all have same pc and settings now as anything out of frame is OP and not BALANCED! Hehe cheating is one and you can see it straight away but if you accuse someone of cheating cause he can farm you all day long... well have to disappoint you but you suck big time
  7. customer548

I think that those people would rather talk about crosshair overlay or keyboard/mouse macros as being "unfair advantages".
  8. Iridar51

Very interesting. Why are you quoting me?..

    Difference = ?

It's a very grey area that is.

Macros only can do what's already coded in game mechanics. One can't make a gun shoot faster or ADAD better with macros.

The only thing crosshair overlay does is puts a dot in the center of the screen. This doesn't confer any additional abilities. User doesn't shoot better or run faster.

And anyone can use both those things, they're not exclusive to rich people or cheaters.

    Cheats = easier to play.
Good machine with quility periphereals = easier to play.
Creating own macros and setting up own hardware to work best with PS2 = easier to play.
Better eyesight / awareness / smarter player = easier to play.

Where do you draw the line?

Cheats are easy, they are forbidden by ToS. Macros are technically forbidden too. Overlay is openly allowed, and it's reproducible anyway by anyone with a marker or a piece of tape.

But all other things are advantages too, why they are fair? Why is it "fair" to be smarter or have a better PC? People aren't born smart, they require education.

Where do you draw the line?

You could say that being smart is fair because one has to work on it. What if a guy was just lucky to be born with parents who can afford good education?

You could say that cheats are unfair because they're "outside help". What about people who write their own cheats? Using their own brains and hands for it? Would that still be unfair?

Where do you draw the line?

It's just too big of a question. IMO a debate on that topic would be useless. If it's not forbidden by ToS, it's not cheating nor it is unfair. End of story.
  9. customer548

Be sure that I didn't want to open any debate. I would be a boring and endless one.

What scares me most is it's entirely possible to post vids of snap to assists and have a large proportion of viewers see nothing but skills...
  11. Garrum

Aimbots that are tuned to not be 100% headshots, using ESP, making the head hitbox larger without using an aimbot, using a damage hack and blaming it on clientside/latency, etc. Things like that are hard to detect, and this community is entirely too willing to write it all off as 'skill' which even further aids the cheaters in staying undetected.
  12. Gundem

While I have no idea really the context of this discussion, I can say, I'd draw the line at inserting code into the game to provide an advantage. Macros, HUD overlays and such don't insert extra information into the game engine.

As for the traditional "Hacker", as far as I remember, his/her programs insert code into the game that effect aspects in varying ways. This is explicitly forbidden in the ToS.

Its unfortunate a good player can use sound to such a good effect as to almost never get ambushed however some players just use ESP its basically impossible to tell ESP is just something you cant test for. Other things like no spread and recoil are also impossible to check no recoil well you just cant tell period no spread you can be suspecious of but without an aimbot they are not likely to just hit you with every bullet from a long distance they will still miss only way is if you just stand still and they non stop headshot you with an SMG or something to that degree that has enough horizontal recoil as to be impossible to hit that many headshots in such a quick succession without laying off the trigger.

Im sure theres plenty of subtle hackers in the game theres also an occasional obvious hacker like someone that uses a basic sniper rifle to spam headshot you from 300M despite the fact that your a stalker cloaker and have never been uncloaked (personal experience) but thees are extreamly rare and in my entire time of playing this game ive only come across 3 people i would consider confirmed hackers. Plus low BR is usually a factor into it if someone pulls some super BS and they are BR15 and have basically no directive points so they are clearly not an alt are more than likely a hacker.
  14. Gundem

I'm pretty sure the game can check if code is being inserted. Like a real-time validation, and if erroneous code is detected it's an autoban.

If not, why the **** not?
  15. Kiddneey

Until fairly recently, I didn't see many hackers. Then tonight on Miller, I saw one rear up with a number of different characters, popping undamaged vehicles including Sunderers and Galaxies, in fact all vehicles and infantry, with single shots from the Archer. He was BR 3. This went on for several hours, and when that character finally seemed to have disappeared... along came another, with a subtle name variation and the cycle began anew. And then again. And then again. Eventually I ragequit as he was wrecking the only decent fight to be found.

Do I think he's going to get banned? Perhaps, but he'll pop straight back with a different account using VPN most likely, I don't know if there IS a solution to VPN just yet.
  16. Jubikus

Sounds good as long as it worked properly. It sounds simple on paper but im sure there would be issues.
  17. Chibknot

I don't like this idea because I'm afraid that the players won't be able to see if someone are hacking or not.
    I use myself for example:
I NEVER used any hack, but EVERY week someone whispe me saying that I'm hacking, and I always say that I'm from Brazil and due that, my ms is always around 250 or more.
If this system will become live, I'll be banned less in a month.
And everyone who have the same problems, will be too.

OBS:I'm sorry for any issues of english, as I said, I'm from Brazil.
  18. Iridar51

Not necessarily. Something like ESP is more about reading the information within the game. I.e. the game already knows there's an enemy behind the corner, ESP just shows that info to the user by overlaying that information on the screen in windowed mode, without even having to insert the overlay code.
  19. Iridar51

And how would you detect it? You can't provide any proof even to its existence, let alone to how many people use that. It's basically one word against another. Flying spagetti monster, dude.
