A Coalition of Vanu Forces (This is a long post but Outfit Leaders should read this.)

In the vein of what extrke said earlier; the Vanu forces on Connery do need to band together and make things happen. It is widely known that the Vanu faction has some of the best fighters and commanders on all of Auraxis. However, all of that skill is for naught when we cannot set aside our pride for the 2 hours it takes to win an alert.

What BorialisAurora said is absolutely correct. Many of us, myself included, come from small to medium sized outfits with specialized trainings and skills. As a leader in The Darkside Empire; we prided ourselves in being able to cause chaos among enemy ranks and being able to help divide larger forces into smaller more manageable groups. However we lacked the numbers to effectively siege a base. We were pretty much just shiny cannon fodder in those fights but, we didn't have to worry because we had Jenk, DPSO or any of the other extra large outfits. Through team work and coordination we helped each other become a force to be reckoned with!

For this reason I propose the creation of a Coalition. Where each Outfit will remain independent of each other, so that they can maintain their play styles and tactics. However there will be an elected leader for each alert who will lead all of the Vanu Coalition forces. Attendance and participation is not mandatory at all and there will be no pressure to join or even help. However I remember the days when Vanu was a force to be feared. When lesser men cowered at the mere thought of meeting us on the battle field. When all of Auraxis cried out to their gods to nerf us. I know we can be that force again. We have lost many great fighters and leaders but new ones have stepped up to fill the gap.

June 4th will be the first meeting of the Vanu Coalition. Again, no one is required to attend and this is to get everyone together to talk about how the Coalition will function. I urge even the smaller outfits to join in and listen to what is being talked about so that, even if you cannot preform tasks on your own, you can still be a valuable asset to the Coalition but moving quick response forces to and from battles.

I ask you brothers and sisters for your trust. In what can be called Vanu's darkest hour. Many of our comrades have fled the Sovereignty in fear and desperation, they doubt Vanu and they doubt us. Now is our time to prove them wrong! Now is our time to rise again from the ashes of our recent defeats and show Auraxis that we have not lost the will to fight! Once again we will see the fear of our foes in the glow from our superior weaponry! Once again they will fear the drone of our Magriders as our magburner lights up the dark Auraxis nights! Together we can drive the fear of Vanu straight into the hearts of the NC and the TR!

1) where is the meeting and time.
2) what voice coms do you propose to use
3) we had a coalition that broke up last Christmas
4) S3X1 will listen to your proposal but probably will refrain from formally joining
5) We don't mind teamwork or helping fellow outfits, if we aren't busy we usually help
6) don't expect us to come help if we think the elected leader is a moron.

All I can promise is that if we are on your continent and you ask for air support, [LIBn] will do it's best to help out.

Good luck with the coalition Most people are too leet-ultra-pro for a coalition and would rather solo so they can farm low BRs and stat pad to make their k/d look better than it really is. It's like a girl putting on too much make up because she doesn't want to see how she looks once you take all that "make up" off.

I'd be a lot more willing to help the idiots on the ground if they ever killed AA turrets. Since they don't, they can go **** themselves.

I have to admit, VS has been doing pretty poorly on Connery lately, all due to lack of communication and willingness to work together on Leader chat.

This once again boils down to setting aside our factions ego's and being actual tacticians. Half the leader chat is full of idiots who refuse to allow some of us to work together, or it is full of petty arguing children. Reading the map and population isn't that hard, winning alerts in the long run doesn't matter because the TR are actively IGNORING alerts and focusing the entire population they have on Indar, or Amerish, quickly and efficiently destroying the opposition and capturing a continent, and the VS take DAYS to get organised and make it neutral again and that isn't good. Well, if its Indar anyways, the TR just seem to cap Amerish because it seems like fun.

HO5P will attend this meeting if you so choose but we have stated before, since the dissolution of HVC and the decline of Vanu leadership I have formed my own limited alliances with other outfits, and we do our best to help you guys out, but again. Limited to my outfits small size the larger outfits have greater chance of succeeding at anything other than territory captures where the smaller outfits have the advantage of being able to redeploy much quicker to trouble spots.

We definitely need to re organize. When I joined Vanu on my very first log in. I saw the population and VS was on the low end. But when I got in game. All three continents where covered in purple. I was flabbergasted on how a empire with the lowest pop could dominate so easily. I talked with some people and they told me that the leaders of platoons are on a Command channel coordinating everyone. I Certed into Lead chat and I was blown away at how organized and clear they where in the channel. Everyone knew exactly what was going on, what to do next and how to execute it in the best possible way. Over the months after I joined Vanu, I noticed there was less purple on the map and that lead chat went from a bunch of organized leaders to a bunch of scatterbrains just yelling in the Lead channel.

I want to get back to Vanu's glory days on Connery. Its depressing to hope on and find all the fights are vastly one sided against us even though the population is at a 50-50. You can count I will be there to help anyway I can.

Yeah I am not surprised that someone has done it before and I have take a lot from each group that has tried and blended them all together in hopes of making one that works a little better. We have had success in the past but it hasn't be sustainable.

1) The meeting will be on Indar at 10pm Central Time (Don't be lazy look it up...) in the warpgate. June 4th as previously stated.
2) For now we can use in game voice coms but we have a TeamSpeak server if we want to use it.
3) We did and I was apart of it. It worked well but had some problems I hope I have ironed out.
4) No one is being forced to join but I have a feeling that it will be a rather enticing proposal.
5) Awesome! The Vanu Coalition will really only be active during alerts so you won't be called upon all day.
6) I will ask that we all be respectful towards each other. I have had my run ins with bad leaders and it does suck but it is not worth burning the bridge with an entire outfit because one of their leaders is not very good or is having a bad day. Also there will be ways of making sure if the current leader is not preforming well it will be easy enough to replace him. (Again comes down to being respectful. I know its a lot to ask online but it is the difference between winning and losing...)

Thanks man! We can definitely use an airforce in out arsenal! Its true that there will be many outfits who decide not to join, and they are free to do so. My main goal is to show them that the VC (Someone come up with a cool name for us! I'm terrible with names!) is a powerful force that can make a difference on the battle field. Right now Vanu is at it's lowest point in a long time and people will join us if they see us winning or at least not losing lol

Here is where the respect comes into play. Say your outfit is getting torn up by AA but you have a good relationship with DPSO who is on the ground. You could then request support of their infantry asking them to focus fire any AA for you. Since this is mutually beneficial. you get to fly and kill more stuff and they don't have to fight as much, it would make sense that they agree to help. In theory of course however if we are not respectful of each other and we fight within ourselves you can kiss the hope of support good bye. It will be a difficult task to curb our pride, even I have my moments, but I feel if it is for the good of Vanu we can pull it off.

I have worked with you before and I have faith in your skills so I look forward to marching on the battle field with you! As you said we will use this meeting to talk about all our strengths and weaknesses. I mean to be honest DSE is **** in the sky lol We would get shot down before we even did any damage (save for a select few pilots) but as far as Spec Ops and quick response we are pretty damn good. So in that sense we will be able to help on another and keep each other alive. It will be an interesting few alerts but I have faith in our soldiers. I know how good they are.

We the NC on Connery look forward to having an epic brawl with you guys. As long as another massive server crash maintenance or some horrible nerf doesn't happen.

Im willing to help, always have and always will, but I dont JUST want to do this with alerts, post and pre alert matter just as much with alerts. Alerts just give us an overall objective, post alert is where we need the organisation.

We look forward to testing our new found strength on the NC first!

Exactly! Thats the idea anyway. I won't/can't force anyone to help but I have a feeling that people who want to win will be more likely to join a force that is doing just that rather then sit around getting their ***** kicked up and down Auraxis lol

We are taking baby steps at first. When it comes to organizing things like this you want to give small bits and pieces here and there without revealing the whole plan. That way we can have a constant string of small victories and successes to keep people interested and involved. I have a lot of things planned for this but I will keep them to myself for now while we work out the basics. Because if I tell the whole plan now all we will do is argue about it instead of putting it into action lol

it devolved into a massive ego and politics blowout between all the majorly large outfits and several small ones that were basically powerless because of limited numbers, which is shameful because numbers don't always mean victory, they just are a major factor.

The system that was in place was too politicalized to be effective, also an outfit felt under-appreciative since no one liked their ideas.

Is this meeting for outfit leaders only? I l'd just like to be in the know about the future plans of this coalition and what outfits are interested in joining in.

Yeah that was an issue with the old group and unfortunately there isn't much one can do to fix it. Even this group will most likely have that same problem if the members can't learn to set aside their differences to work together. If I could do the Mighty Ducks think and remove everyone's names and replace them with Vanu I would but I can't so... I plan to keep the VC leader communications outside of command chat. That place is just a breeding ground for hate and fighting so most likely the only person who will address command chat will be the leader of the VC that day to make sure other outfits know where we are and where we are going.

I have a rather large team speak server and I know other outfits do as well so we will work something simple out. As for the meeting anyone can be in attendance but I have a feeling that it will be rather boring for those who don't lead squads on a regular basis. i find that the only people who find tactics interesting are squad and platoon leaders lol (I've tried teaching leadership to other people but if they aren't determined to learn its not an easy task.)

Yes yes! Be sure to let your leadership know that this is happening and if they are doubtful let them know that no one outfit is leading the VC. I am. Specifically me. So they won't have to worry about an outfit hogging glory. I am here to make sure we win and that's all. (By me leading I mean that I am organizing and setting it up. I will not always be leading the VC in battle though I have a feeling the first few battles will be lead by me so everyone can see if I'm serious and talented enough lol) Also I imagine that the VC leader will have their faces buried in the map for most of the alert so it is not a job for the feint of heart lol
