750 Ti vs my old 650 Ti

    Hey guys.

So recently I bought a 650 ti to upgrade my old 650 ti.

I understand the better power consumption ect. but I would like to know if anybody has a 650 ti and maybe experienced the upgrade to a 750 ti.

Would really like to know the fps difference. I know it will be minimal, but regardless I would like to know the difference. I'm saving up for a 770, but that's for a later date. Thanks guys!

Here's my specs. I will be receiving my 750 ti this coming monday.

    Processor: 4570 i5 3.2ghz quad core Haswell
    Motherboard:MSI H87-G43 LGA 1150 Intel H87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0
    HDD: 2tb main drive
    Graphics: 650Ti 1gb Gddr5
    Corsair Vengence: 16gb ddr3

Get a 660/760 or a 660/760 ti. It's still got more bandwidth and CUDA cores than either the 650 ti or 750 ti. I play this game on max, it's awesome.

It doesn't make any sense to upgrade between two generation of the same performance class. That goes for CPUs aswell as GPUs.

You max out the game on a 3.1 GHz Sandy Bridge i3?! Impressive, or maybe you're just not telling us what kind of FPS you're getting. :p

I too upgraded to a 750 Ti, but from a 550 Ti instead. I can now play the game on ultra + AO at 900p at 40-60 FPS, whereas with the 550 Ti I could only play the game on high without AO and all that kind of stuff.

I realize that it's very minimal...I have a good job though. I always have some spending money. I'm going to sell my 650 ti and make some money back. I was bored and had some spending money so I bought the 750 ti and a new 650 watt modular gold power supply from corsair hahaha. Oh well. Honestly it's no big deal though. I have the money. It's just going to be a little bit haha

Solid 60 with V-Sync and everything turned on. If I turned it off it'd fluctuate a lot over 80. Still better than nothing!

Card's driver settings are maxed as well (the texture compression and such).

Can you upload a bench made with Fraps in a decent fight? That would be interesting.
  10. Octiceps

LOL I think we can all agree that is mighty impressive but it sounds a little like you're blowing smoke. Just a little. ;)

The 750ti isnt that big of an upgrade from a 650ti. Wait until you can get something significantly more powerful.

Ain't blowin' nothing lol. SOMETIMES with the huge over 100+ fights (the game only shows 48+ on either side) my FPS will drop to around 35-45. As long as it's not less than 25, I'll do just fine.

I do however want to upgrade to a 2500k or 2600k in the near future. Just to round out my PC. (I also built stated PC... So I knows what be in and on it lol.)
  13. Octiceps

OK that sounds more like it. Dropping down to 30 FPS in heavy fighting is a far cry from constant 60 FPS which is what it sounded like you were suggesting before.

You should probably get a mobo with a chipset that allows overclocking if you're going for an unlocked -K CPU.

You could get a 2nd 650Ti for much less and use them in SLI.....
  15. Octiceps

Wouldn't scale very well in this game though with the CPU holding him back. CPU bottleneck is the bane of performance in multi-GPU setups.

Perhaps but i bet he'd have better performance than with a single 750 ti.
  18. Octiceps

With the way this game runs? Doubtful. Min FPS is determined by single-threaded CPU performance. I get the exact same min FPS whether SLI is on or off. A single stronger GPU will run this game better than two weaker ones, even if the single card is not much faster as is the case here. Best course of action would be to keep using the 650 Ti until OP can afford an actually worthwhile upgrade to something like a GTX 760/770 or R9 280/280X (apparently he said he already has enough money?)

SLI will make a big difference in most games. This isn't one of them.

Never mind, just read through the thread again and OP has already unloaded the 650 Ti and the 750 Ti is en route. Enjoy that 25-30% performance increase until you get the 770. :p

Considering how badly this game has been with multi gpu i doubt it. He needs to wait for an 800 series or get at least a 660ti.

I have an 590 on one of my systems and runs PS2 like a charm on max settings guys so i don't know.
