[Suggestion] 3 Reasonable Lasher Buffs

The only thing the Lasher really needs is a hipfire COF bloom reduction.

Lashers are made for sustained fire but their orbs start to go all over the place after just 3-4 shots. Their orbs travel way too slowly (100m/s I think) to be reliably used during ADS outside CQC, and ADS slows your movement down too much, so all else being equal it's generally better to hipfire w/ a Lasher. Reducing the bloom would make them much more consistent during hipifre.

I wouldn't mind a velocity increase too, maybe to ~125-150m/s. But I don't know if I'd call it "necessary" given the Lasher's intended use.

I said that I considered it a good thing that the development team isn't strongly influenced by people who wish to homogenize the game, and believe that weapons should sacrifice uniqueness for the sake of the same multi-purpose flexibility seen in many areas of the game.

That's not a bad attitude, and it's about as disrespectful as coming in to a topic titled "I hate what the devs are doing" and saying that "I quite like what the devs are doing." Stop looking for insult or abuse where there is none.
  3. Ronin Oni

en masse it can be an impressive long range barrage weapon... particularly in areas where you're firing down on the enemy.

Any time you're shooting up at the enemy..... it's basically useless....

Unless they're on the open slope or something silly like that.

So why does NC and TR have excellent cqc weapons and we got area denial weapon that is not used in 90% situations. You need to be on higher ground to sucessfully utilize its potential.

Let them have area denial weapons too but VS need cqc killer like those 2 in a form of Lasher x3 with burst high velocity and rof heat ammo variant.
  6. Azawarau

Why dont the NC have ridiculous accuracy at mid distance with automatic weapons like the VS ._.

    Its a factional thing

The VS weapons arent that bad at CQC either

I run around with the Solstice S on an engineer crying because its so much nicer than anything the NC have (Except for the blitz and cyclone) and its a sub par Vanu weapon

And im just going to say that you dont have to be higher than the people youre firing at and its not useless in 90% of situations

Its the only Vanu heavy weapon i use and for good reason
  7. Thardus

I notice that that website only tracks kills, not assists. I guarantee you that Lasher users get far more assist Exp. than those using the MCG or Jackhammer. I wouldn't be surprised if it was enough to overtake the Exp. that MCG and Jackhammer users get from their greater level of kills.

Really, I see an HA carrying a Lasher as a support class, not a front-line fighter. Their effectiveness can't be measured by something as simple as K/D.
  8. thed1rt

    5 second toggle buff.

Press to fully connect battery to plasma.

Fires a Laser beam for 5 seconds then overheats.

    30 second cooldown.

aoe beam or just single target beam???
  9. Foxirus

Dear god I am glad you are not balancing weapons. If you are going to drop its splash damage to 1 you might as well just get rid of it all together. You know what? Better idea... Just make it become an Orion when you add HVA, Because that basically what you just did, But worse.
  10. Ragnarox

Orion is bad weapon. So why not? Make it more balanced 1 on 1. And if you want suppresive fire you just remove HVA and thats it. Yes I am glad too I am not balancing weapons cause Victim Complex faction would get nerfhammered and NC will be normalized while vs would get buffs to be competitive again.
  11. FateJH

The engine didn't support real beam weaponry when we last checked. We'd need to go back and examine that premise first.
  12. Dallascreeper

This is basically why I want the Lasher. I've played other fps games like CoD, BF4, and some other one I don't remember. Whenever I play these, I get destroyed in just about any 1v1 situation, even by players worse than I am. Having a supression/AOD/Indirect fire weapon would overcome these personal disadvantages.
  13. Savadrin

1/10 because prorion hypocrites are bad, and should feel bad.
  14. Foxirus

What I am about to say has no stats backing it up (Which basically means I didn't look up the oracle).

What it FEELS like is that the Striker is doing just a BIT too well against Air units and is lacking against ground units.

What I feel should happen is that the striker have its damage toned down against air and something involving its ground vehicles to be tuned up.

What I find interesting about the Lasher is that people oftenly say that the Lasher's effectiveness increases with the size of the fights.
However, VS has by far the lowest population, especially in peak times when the Lasher should perform best and be a great motivation to log in, choose your VS character and use it.
So, the Lasher is failing to give VS some needed extra power during peak times. TR has the OProwler, Claymores, Strikers. NC has Shotgun/Raven Maxes, Shotgun Reavers, Shotgun Harrassers... VS has ZOE, PPA and naturally the Lasher.

The Lasher is "theoretically" a nice weapon to fight masses of enemies. 10 Lashers on a doorway instakill everyone who goes through that doorway. Only from Splash damage. A real mass destruction weapon - this is the furture, this is VS.
However there are so many doorways and alternative entrances to/in bases...

So, the occasions where the Lasher really shows it powers are: short, only during peak hours and depend on the base design - Subterrainean Nanite Analysis is a rare base where the Lasher performs great.

So, apart from just buffing some of its stats and eventually nerfing others, I see 3 options left to make the Lasher more "versatile"

    - Heat-Mechanic
    - Aphelion-Charge-Up
    - Charge-Up (Lancer like)

Heat-Mechanic: What I wouldn't like is that it would dump the beatiful reload animation and sound of the Lasher.
Well, the sound and animation could appear while not shooting and cooling down.
Also, the Heat-Mechanic could be a Rail-Attachement as an alternative to the extended Mags. Maybe 100 shots per mag and a faster "short reload" when cooling down from a 99,999% heated state then with no heat mechanic.
The high reload time is one reason why this weapon oftenly get you killed and it also decreases its area denial effect.

    Aphelion-Charge-Up:

That would make the weapon versatile.
In 1on1s you shoot at the enemy and in the right moment you release the trigger for the charge-up-shot as a finisher.
Or against Heavies/Maxes you can just increase your DPS.
It requires skill and is still situational (The enemy can kill you before you have the chance to use that charge-up).
Also, "when" having better splash damage and used right, this charge-up can increase its area denial effect.

    Charge-UP (Lancer-Like)

With each Charge-Up state, the size, velocity, damage and splash damage/radius or the orbs would increase.
At charge-up state 3, the orb would be 1m in diameter, 400m/s fast and do Splash damage like a Prowler HE
and OHK every non-HA when hitting directly. That would look cool, sound OP in mid-range, but would still be useless in CQC.
  16. Savadrin

I find it ******* hilarious that people think the Striker is OP.

It's not even OP when you can actually land all six rockets in the magazine on a stationary hovering ESF.

Have you people even LOOKED at how many shots it takes to kill a Lib or Gal? I really ******* doubt it.

And I'm still trying to understand the whole claymore hate. It's got a fraction of the trigger radius of other mines, puts a laser line on the floor out like 6 feet, and of any of the mines is the easiest to clear accidentally by continuing to run.

    Crybabies gon cry.
  17. PasitheeVS

    1. Wrong Thread
    2. Yeah, just defend your OP stuff, as always, as if that would help.
BR 68 Noob with 0,7 KDR, you're just talking to a BR 120.
Played the game like 5 minutes, not even good, thinks his opinion means something.
    3. I think that explains it, apart from the no-delay and low visibility of it.

Dude, everything needs a lot of hits for a Lib or Gal, that's not even relevant.
  18. Savadrin

    Wrong thread, is it?

Clearly you didn't bring those things up.

You are the cancer that kills this game. Typical "everything is OP but our stuff" scrub comparing apples to watermelons.

So there's a bug with explosions going through biolab shields? HOLY **** WE BETTER NERF GRENADES TOO.

You bring up my KDR, but you know nothing about how I play this game. I have no respect for stupid people, whether you've spent enough time to get to BR120 or BR15. It doesn't make you any more intelligent, it just means you've spent more hours in front of the screen. Only a pretentious piece of **** would expect that there's some sort of respect due because of your time in game alone.

Your ideas are malformed, and you think this game can be "won" by dying 10,000 times in one weekend and using bounties to "pay to win." I can't even.

Low visibility of the claymore? You are bad, and should feel bad. Maybe your eyes are just terrible, or your little brain can't connect the dots while you run around epeening about your BR120 padded KDR.

Your killboard says it all. Scrub is farming with a MAX, Scythe rockets, and VPC with a Maggie. And you've got the balls to even bring up KDR. lol.

  19. DarkWingGB

TR: Special HA Weapon is minigun. NC MAX has pair of miniguns
NC: Special HA Weapon is Jackhammer(shotgun). NC MAX has pair of shotguns
VS: Special HA Weapon is Lasher.... Where the hell is VS MAX with pair of Lashers???!!!!!

    -----------------

I'm realy Lasher fun. I think its ok, but I would like to see a switchable charge mode for it.
  20. Savadrin

I just threw up thinking about a VS max with dual lashers.

    You owe me lunch
