24 hours after the merge, what were your first impressions?

I'm getting close to start TK'ing medics that dont do their job. If they wanted to go around and shoot people and have some healing function they can go LA with med kits. The same goes for engineers. I've seen many MAX units stuck at low health because engineers arent doing their jobs. And if you complain about it they just throw insults.

Funny, I nearly TKd a stupid HA who had been running AWAY from me from the frontline back to spawn AMS spamming non-stop "I need medical attention!" while I was chasing him with the medical tool out. Less than 1 sec attention-span HA are no better.
Should I mention also the rocket spamming HA who will never move from his cover point when all it would need would be a good push and the stalemate would be broken... You think support are not doing their job? They are not alone !

Last night really felt like the first time I played Planetside 2 again. With the upcoming release of Hossin its really going to be like a new game.

But changing stances gives you a half second or so of increased CoF, and if you are already firing, means you are hurting your CoF overall.

Anyways, I hadn't had anyone do that to me playing Waterson from launch - then the first day of the merge close to 80% of the enemies I ran into did it. Just peculiar; but I won't complain. My HSR will appreciate it.

Last night was great. My only real concern was that with big pops we won't see many alerts, and even with capped continent pops I like having a little shakeup in the monotony of "capture everything". Hopefully server lag improves too you can feel the strain.

But overall amazing last night, can't wait for the weekend. So any new players, big fights raging everywhere from very early on in the day (gg on the short downtime too). So many fresh faces you never really know what you will run into.

Running into new outfits from Watterson is like an auraxis first date. Who knows how they will act, will they bring me tanks? Will they be aggressive? Will we have good banter? I got a rage tell from a player whose name I didn't know last night, Will he /tell me again, or was I one of many? What an exciting time to be playing.

lol awesome. VS command didnt change at all from a mattherson perspective. Waterson guys talked very little.

Personally I loved it, havent' seen pops like this in a long, long time. I see a lot of people with potatoes (seriously don't blame the game bc you're poor or just too lazy to build a good rig) complaining but perhaps this isn't the game for them :x

Amerish was a blast! One of the new bases (been away for awhile) which was mostly underground was overrun then suddenly 30 scythes blow in from our warpgate and glass the surface taking out their sundies and most of their infantry while we pushed up and out and then but them on the defensive in their adjacent base :D So much fun, not sure what the tacticool kiddies are complaining about though, nothing to stop them from doing their thing just more static from warfighters.

    Thoughts:
    • Waterson VS wasn't bad enough to drag down Mattherson VS' domination.
    • Mattherson TR were bad enough to drag down Waterson TR's excellence.
    • NC did a little worse than I expected, given that both servers' NC empires were pretty good pre-merge.
    • Population makes the game so much better.
    • TR played the last alert of the day exactly like Mattherson TR would have: by immediately attacking the underdog at the start of the alert, pulling both sides into a big conflict while VS just capped or held territory. It resulted in the predictable Mattherson-like VS win.

Well idk if its still true but Waterson VS sort of fell into two camps:

    1. WVA (Watereson Vanu Alliance) which operated out of a high command teamspeak
    2. Insular groups that did their own thing

I haven't seen the days of zerg-herding from Jaeger in a long time although I did see maergoth last night who used to do a lot of that zerg-herding. Of course WVA probably doesn't even exist anymore so who knows, maybe they're all insular or just former shells of themselves x__x

    No, THAT'S AMAZING!

Don't forget there's a 4th continent coming this week so we'll have room to spare.

ALSO there was probably higher pop from both servers last night to experience the merger, so last night was probably higher than normal tuesday night activity.

I see all Access, so assume you've bought some SC purchases...

at least you'll have those
  12. Posse

    Why me?

But yes, definitely better, I don't have to step into Indar ever again now :D

Waterson VS are kind of quiet.

Being chronically underpoped does that to a faction.

Right but I will have just died be laying on the ground and on my map a medic will walk on by, then another, and another. I have to harass them or an engine (when I play a MAX) to get any healing. Not all are failing to do their job but its a far cry from 6 months ago when 20 medics would pounce on a person like a pride of lions attacking a prey. For every medic doing a good job there seems to be like 15 that dont do their job at all.

Emerald can be summed up in two words: lag and zergs,
  18. TeknoBug

Ping is significantly higher, I was 105-110ms on Mattherson/Waterson, now I'm 160-190 on Emerald.

One of the biolabs, VS had ~25-30 people and there were at least 100+ TR attacking it, LMAO.

Connery was almost as busy last night as Emerald was and I always get 80-110 on there.
  19. Snoozzzer

I don't like it. Sure the fights are bigger, but there are more butt holes now that matherson's cesspit has arrived

The game has changed that's for sure I'm not quite sure what to think yet.

I seemed to be having more hit detection issues than normal, and definitely was having rendering issues, but that's probably because almost all the fights where fairly large, will probably have to figure out some tweaks to my system to try and improve performance a bit.

I did like that not all the main fights where limited Indar, Amerish and Esamir had some good battles going on too.
